...Many saints first struggled with weaknesses and sins. It gave them great compassion and mercy toward those trapped in similar patterns.... Maybe you haven't, maybe you have. Just don't underestimate how much God expects of you given your situation and your path to a strong practice of the true faith. You will likely be held to a high standard, and during the Warning you (and me, and all of us) may be shown painful areas of failure to love, or to be merciful, or to give of self....
Sorry I come across that way Jon. I really am a simple man . By telling my spiritual life Jon is that pride?... really? How so,. And your talkin about superiority Jon,,,, in another thread calling commentary from Catholic Saints and scholars as weak/opinions... don't address your thought!.....wow, Jon you lil lamb you ....baaaa
My same argument...before conchita there have been other saints that have mentioned the warning. Also, many saints as well as lay people have seen their life flash before their eyes. It goes like this...you will see all the sins you have committed. This will be unbearable torrement breaking you almost to the point of nothingness. That will be the warning...and no confession won't help. If that hits the whole world at the same time...some will blow it off as mass hysteria, others as a warning from God and some will just try to forget. That will be Gods final gift to humanity. This also happens when you die and are judged. But if you have lived a life in union with Jesus...you might be able to see directly after the bad all the good you have accomplished. Some say confession erases everything. I don't think it really disappears until we are one with the Father in heaven. But because of the sacrament of confession the "created one" - "accuser" cannot hold it against us. Brother al
They had mystical moments but they weren't supernatural people. They were just like you and me. Except God would every now and then give them supernatural graces. Even Mother Teresa for her last 20 years...was actually in union with Our Lord but God made her believe He wasn't even there. Everyone can be fooled...Judas fooled all the Apostles. Saints might have moments of breaking through the mystical... but that doesn't mean they cant be tricked. Brother al
Thanks FS. In the Warning we will be shown 1 The bad things we have done. 2 Their consequences. 3 The good we should have done. In the Warning we will not be shown the good we have done, only the bad. No one will have the choice as to whether they will experience it. The only choice will be in how we respond. It will be a private experience. No one else will see what we are shown. Everyone will have it at the same time. It will be dreadful. Catholics who are well prepared may well survive it better.
Its really kinda scary...you pretty much have it down. Now will it happen in our lifetime...noone knows. But if it does it will change everything. The lines will be drawn. Its really something that we don't want to happen...it will cause havoc. But It is direct intercession from God to save souls. It will be part of the final battle. Brother al Ye
We know it will happen in Conchita's lifetime and she is in her sixties now. We know it will happen when her children are adults. They are all adults now. More signs will follow that will indicate it is getting closer and give us a better chance to prepare. Look out for the Pope going to Moscow.
i just think God will decide when is the right time. Not sure there is a timeline. But if it helps us prepare then it is no big deal. Brother al
Thanks FS For matters of Garabandal I just go by the primary sources of information. For me nothing else is worth listening to. Hope it helps you.
I think it will happen in our lifetime. In the last few days, I've heard it said that the second secret of Medjugorje speaks of the warning.
I have followed Garabandal now for 35 years. And I firmly believe in the messages. I also have read many of the wonderful accounts of the eye witnesses and of the extrodinary events that took place. However, the witness account of this unknown women who stated that she asked Conchita to ask The Blessed Virgin about Extraterristriels, is a first for me. The women then states that Conchita said Our Lady said 'yes' and then also added on a few more things? What I am saying is I don't know how reliable this witness is. Especially as Conchita [to my knowledge] has never been questioned by the media about this alledged statement. I believe the media would have long ago jumped on that! But it surfaces so recently? maybe this witness has less than holy motives This seems strange to me and I think that is what Infant of prague was saying as well. God bless us all.
I too have always seen Conchita as a reliable witness and she would never let Our Lady be misquoted. The lady who requested the information has nothing really to do with the revelation so her motives are immaterial. As far as I can see the only things that matter in this event are the words of Our Lady and Conchita.
But how do we know that this women actually requested Conchita to ask this question of Our Lady? All we have is this woman’s word that she requested Conchita to ask this question and that Conchita got a reply. Conchita may not have been consulted by this woman at all! let alone asked Our Lady such a question! Anyone can say that they heard a seer say this or that. I could say that I specifically asked a seer to question a vision, about say the existence of Big foot and then state that I actually heard the seers answer of ‘yes’ while the seer was still in ecstasy. The credible witnesses are known and reputable and were there at the time of the apparitions. And besides Conchita and the other girls were grilled with questions by many priests, media and many others after the apparitions on all that was said. So why didn’t this come up in the questioning? I don’t believe that this woman is a credible witness. This woman is doing harm to the truth of Garabandal.
Have you ever read anything,or watched anything on video about Garabandal ? Seriously, because you sound like so many who object , but have no understanding of what was said there. The "WARNING " , is about enlightening your conscience about how sins offends God. This is not about the forgiveness of confession. Here's an example to help you understand my point. Please describe to us the difference of how God sees the sin of swearing ( or blasphemy ) and lying ? Or, the difference between stealing or lustful want ? NO HUMAN can describe how God feels when we commit these sins, so the Warning will educate us as to the gravity of ALL sins so we better understand. It will be extremely hurtful ,but a true blessing to help us grow spiritually. See my point now ?
How could you have possibly studied for 35 years, and not know who Mercedes Salisachs is ?? This is no "unknown woman " ( unknown to you, but not the Spanish people ) Mercedes Salisachs is one of the most credible witnesses because she was a very well know and respected author in Spain ! Here are some of her writings of that time if you are interested .(and a Spanish video ) http://www.garabandal.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/dwld_message_virgin.pdf http://www.ourlady.ca/info/mercedesSalisachs1.htm Her video interview in Spanish only: Mercedes Salisachs Roviralta was a Spanish writer and novelist. She began her career when she was a teenager and published more than thirty five novels. She wrote and published her last novel in 2013 at the age of 97. In 1956, she won the City of Barcelona Prize with the work A Woman Comes to Town. In 1983, she won the Ateneo de Sevilla prize for his work Lack Volume and in 2004, she won an award with Fernando Lara for her work The Last Maze. Salisachs died in Barcelona from natural causes, aged 97.
The warning is not just from garabandal...it has been mentioned by many saints. Messages could take 100's of years. Conchita put a timeline on it. God usually doesn't put timelines because in the end it is His decision. We should prepare...the moment Our Lord Jesus rose from the dead we should prepare. But i just hate to put timelines but yes evil is growing everywhere. So, we should all be preparing. Funny, my Aunt joined me for 6am mass yesterday. She said 10 years ago there was about 15 people...now it has grown to about 40 or 50. There is also a group of 5 to 10 people that get there 1/2 hour early for silent prayer. This morning group is cordial but there is no talking before or after mass in the church. I think God is preparing His saints. The core believers might be getting smaller but they seem to be spiritually stronger. Brother al
