Hi guys, I just want to say that I find the Prayer of Miraculous Trust to be very powerful, in that it has greatly dimished my worries around my loved ones who have turned away from God etc. I did as Charlie stated; to say it only once for each intention. I wrote out each person's name and what I felt they needed and did the prayer for each one. The burden lifted almost immediately and when I think of them now, I just praise God that His will is being worked out in their lives. God Bless you Charlie! BC
It really is a beautiful prayer and concept but one thing holds me back a bit. What if Charlie is not legit? I am not saying that he is not legitl but I often wonder about this thing with prayers that come from current, unapproved mystics. Maybe this is not an issue at all because of our intentions but if the evil one's hand is involved at all would that negate such a prayer and/or promise? When I first was reading and discerning MDM there were so many prayers. I said every one of them when I did not know if she was legit or not and now regret dishonoring God with such prayers.
It is important to pray for the gift of discernment, which in my experience will tell us fairly quickly whether something is not right, one will feel an uneasiness in one's spirit. But we may not know why. And also when something is right one will feel the confirmation in spirit.
Prayer of Miraculous Trust | The Next Right Step The idea of this prayer is just to pray it once and surrender it to God, I think? Since the idea I think is just to pray this prayer once and surrender your request to God, I have wondered about this. I prayed it and later that night was watching Fr. Mitch Pacwa on EWTN and someone asked him about a prayer that you say just once for your request and Fr. Pacwa said no. He said nowhere in the bible does it say that. He said rather that Jesus said to keep praying for your answer, citing many bible verses: Day 181- Perseverance in Prayer // Jesus and Be-elzebul Today's Reading: Luke 11:5-23 5 And he said to them, "Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; 7 and he will answer from within, Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything'? 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him whatever he needs. 9 And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for l a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"- The woman who wouldn't leave the unjust judge alone till he gave her what she wanted. So hmmm, yes, I don't know about this prayer either.
He also said, "ask, believing you have received...." Mk 11:24. How can we claim anything in faith if we have to keep asking? I only pray for anything once and then keep thanking God until I receive it or until God tells me different, which He has been known to do
"So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me." (John 11:41)
I spent a weekend with Charlie and he stayed in my home just recently. I met his son who was a completely normal guy, police officer here in my state, and he just shrugged "that's my dad!". He's for real. If he's setting us up for something, he's sure going about it a funny way as his message causes me no concern and the more I pray, the more rosaries I pray, the more he makes sense to me. Think of his basic message "Trust God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you". Each of us must discern for ourselves but I have discerned that message to be from heaven, not from evil.
A great gift of hospitality- thanks FP! Storm or no Storm, the simplicity of Charlie's message breaths authenticity. He uses a lot of words, yet, Charlie strikes me as humble and no seeker of vainglory! Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Thanks for starting this thread BC When God says no to your prayer, how do you discern no? Im in conflict myself over what is no for me and whats prayer without ceasing and Not to loose heart as the widow and the corrupt Judge in Luke 18 1-8. v7 states will he not do justice to those who call out nite and day? He will swiftly act! We humans like to set time limits for God to act and if it doesn't happen in this time frame then its not of God or His will. Believe me, not trying to debate for I agree with many of the comments to ALWAYS give Thanksgiving in prayer as our Lord told us. Im really interested in your and others discernment of what is No for them? and when to persevere and Trust?
Nothing against Charlie, but one has to wonder if St. Augustine would have converted if St. Monica hadn't persisted in prayer for his conversion for 20 years. Even the apostles retreated into prayer for nine days prior to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. I personally don't think that I'm ready to change my personal prayer model. I feel that for me, the more I petition and praise God, the closer I feel to Him.
Charlie certainly doesn't need me explaining what he means, but I think I can help clear up some misconception you may have about this prayer he offered. In fact, Charlie even says to follow the example of Saint Monica and pray often for a particular intention, but when using this specific prayer, just say this prayer one time for that intention (and then offer up your rosaries, other prayers for the same intention--but you only need to say this prayer once): I'll quote Charlie here: "Do not say this particular prayer more than once for any specific intention. To do so is to fail in trust – and defeat the purpose of this prayer, which is abandonment to God’s will. Certainly, God knows how needy we are, so you may say other prayers for the same intention if the need arises, but not this one. In fact, following the lead of St. Monica, you should pray frequently on matters involving the will of another – but only once for this prayer, which is for abandonment to God. If you can, it is best to say it and then let it go, trusting that whatever comes of the matter now is for your eternal good regardless of what happens" https://charliej373.wordpress.com/prayer-of-miraculous-trust/
I really understand what you all are saying and again, I don't discredit Charlie as being legit or not but no matter what our opinions may be, he is still unapproved so we must always be prepared for negative judgement no matter what our opinions are and thus we must obey the church in any decision they make. Tom, you mentioned that you don't think Charlie is up to anything or any kind of deception and I fully agree with that, but it may not be Charlie in the know as to who or what is doing the deceiving. Charlie could be deceived and not know it and thus if that were to be the case, again which I am at least 90% certain in my own discernment that Charlie is the real deal, but if he is being deceived then so is this prayer and that is where my question lies as to what happens if a prayer is given from someone who is being deceived by the evil one. Does that prayer stand on its own and is accepted by God or not?
I would not worry about praying too much If you don't feel comfortable saying one prayer for a particular intention, then pray more and more, there's no harm in that. All Charlie said was to say that one prayer one time for a particular intention and then trust God to work with that. He doesn't advise not continuing to pray other prayers for that same intention so pray away
Two examples: (1) I was in medj a few years ago and one of the women in our group became ill and was taken to hospital. Our priest leader organised a few of us to meet to pray for the woman. The priest led the prayer pretty well with us in agreement for her healing, however, at one stage he started to go back over stuff he had already prayed for. I felt the prompting of the Spirit to tell him to stop, and to give thanks, and to pray instead for the woman to be open to receiving the graces the Lord was offering. (2) One of my relatives had a severe stroke. I used to visit her in hospital every eve to pray for her healing. She had drifted into a coma over a few days but I was still persevering in my prayer in faith. One morning I attended mass with her sister who lived with her and was heartbroken. Just before communion the priest read out, " Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it and you will." When I received communion I said, "ok Lord ....." and I proceeded to ask in faith. I felt the Lord gently interrupt me and explain that the time was right for her to be with him, and that he would give the necessary strength to her sister and other close family. I changed my prayer for a happy death. The woman died the following night. At the funeral the words of a song kept repeating in my head. "We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day." This singer, Vera Lynn, I discovered, was one of the deceased woman's favourites.
The miraculous prayer eased my worries when I prayed it for those I was concerned about. I only would say it once and similarly when praying in faith for stuff I would only pray once. However, I have a very poor memory and would sometimes forget I have prayed for something already, maybe months/years previously. (yes I am waiting years for an answer to some prayers) In these cases I would just ask and or continue to thank that my prayer has been heard. I hope this is understandable to readers . I know what I want to say but find it difficult to find the right words. Just an insight the Lord gave me one time I was annoyed with Him for not answering on of my years long prayers. He showed me I would never have allowed him into my life on the scale I have if he had answered my prayer sooner, and I'm still waiting!
MMMM. I said the prayer of Miraculous Trust asking dear God to protect our family's Health, Wellbeing and Redemption. I did not say it for each member individually; but as a group. I wonder if that will be enough. The prayer that melted my heart is the Novena given to Father Dolindo Ruotolo RIP. It is called 'Oh Jesus, I surrender myself to You. Take care of everything.' There are 9 petitions one for each day. Or you can say it hourly, it is that short. With each petition which words were dictated by Jesus, you say Oh Jesus, I surrender myself to You, take care of everything ten times. The effect this prayer had on me was as if a weight was lifted off my shoulders over a concern which has weighed heavily on me for a few years now. Praised be Jesus and Mary.
