I agree John. There is a definite difference in dreams and then the more lucid ones where the details stay engrained in our memories. I have had a few of these in the past year and they really stand out. It amazes me how much God is working in and through so many people as well as how much he reveals to us when we need it. I notice it so much in my life lately. I will be working through something in my head and/or heart then within a day the topic comes up either in church, through friends or the radio and the light bulb goes on and it all clicks.

I share pretty much all the little things that happen to me here on this forum because it is good to share things among family. The rest of the world...it gets a bit tougher but I still try to do my part.

    Magdalen Ave Maria!

I have been to several places of refuge that have been worked on for well over a decade--even to two. All those who have made such preparations and essentially from coast to coast, have many things in common as to how they came to build and prepare such a place. They are real and I accept that. I guess what puzzles me is that some of these dear ones are getting old now. If these events are to unfold in their lifetimes, then time is short before we see them happen. I do not know that I shall be called to such a place. But we must all seek God's will day to day. Each day we are called to pray and to remain always in a state of grace, trying -with grace--to choose God's Divine Will. We cannot do this on the natural level for such a seeking and such actions are supernatural and we need much grace for that. As Catholics we have the greatest gifts of faith with the Sacramental life. Many of us know wonderful Protestants who do not have what we have, yet so many Catholics squander their gift of sacramental graces.

We must always stay close to Our Lady; she will see to us and bring us to Jesus.

Just for your information, I am not aware of any refuges linked to the Warning announced in Garabandal, in my opinion but it's my opinion only and with all the necessary respect to the authors of this thread, I don't believe a second about this story of refuges....etc..., no one and I said no one had never indicated to me anything linked to some refuges here or there, before, after, tomorrow or after tomorrow the Warning, so I will suggest to be very cautious.

John Martinez Jr Refuges: By Our Blessed Mother and the Holy Spirit

I do not pretend to know everything about Garabandal, but I know that the Holy See and the Catholic Church has never approved the apparition. You must be confused and if you taking about me. I have never linked any Refuge to the warning. I have been shown spiritual visions of the future and I can only say that the Holy Spirit and Our Blessed Mother are preparing the Refuges. They do not need permission from you. You can believe what you want like the people in Noah’s time. I am sharing messages that were given to me to share with the world. You are one of two that think they know better than God. I have received hundreds of emails and calls they are in agreement in there spirit of what they are praying and hearing from God. You can think whatever you want, but you will not get a Certified Letter from God asking your permission. There only a few people like you who think you are special. God does not have to prove anything to you.

    God bless you!

The Garabandal messages, even though I totally support them, are not all inclusive of all revelations from heaven. If this were true, then why would Mary have appeared at so many other places and why would heaven reveal so many locutions throughout the world? John made a good point, which I have made in the past, that our Lord is providing the puzzle pieces that bring together a more clear view of the larger picture that is instore for our times. Garabandal did not reveal many of the Fatima secrets, but I would not dismiss its prophesies because of this.

You are correct and discernment is needed!

    Galatians 8: 6-9

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

In the approved messages of Our Lady of America, Our Lady told Sister: " Yes, I tell you, my daughter, even should such a destruction happen because there were not enough souls who took my warning seriously, there will remain a remnant, untouched by the chaos who, having been faithful in following me and spreading my warnings, will gradually inhabit the earth again with their dedicated and holy lives."

I just don't get it, talking down to people, telling someone God doesn't have to prove anything to them. Doesn't seem to be a messenger from God. Praidag insinuated that I am here to team up with or give points to mutual friends. But I really don't know anyone. I tried to be as fair as possible and even stated refuge is possible, even though I said it should start in our own (hearts) communities. Many of us on this forum are looking for that special person or that special vision. That is why I am here, searching for Gods message too me. But if you declare yourself to be a mystic, then all your actions and words go under the microscope.

I enjoyed Praidag original post... would a messenger really argue Gods messages. I don't think so, the people that hear the vision either believe or don't believe. And comparing the mystics visions to being at the same mystical level as the Gospels is not acceptable. Visions are personal gifts from God, usually they are for the individual mystic. And my understanding is...they do not need to be accepted or believed in by the Catholic faithful. Visions, are what they are, gifts from the Holy Spirit. A true messenger shouldn't get mad if people don't believe. He/She has done his/her duty by relaying the message to the people. I understand that i might be offending a few people in this forum but that is not my intent. If someone declares themselves to be messengers of God then they should be prepared for non-believers.

    May Gods Will Be Done

How many times does Our Lady have to appear to mankind and only a few listen and do the Will of God? I see so many brothers and sisters that are ready to take the fight to the enemy, but the majority is caught up in their weak and selfish unbelief. God is looking for “Warriors” that are not afraid to fight the evil that is coming. Our Lady has prayed for mankind and yet the majorities turn their face away from God. They talk of rightness and do nothing. They ridicule those that speak the Truth. They rationalize and show their cowards face and always come up with excuses. Many Complain and do nothing. God is looking for leaders, Prophets, Teachers and a holy people. I see how the messages of Our Lady are taken lightly. I see Individuals who care more for themselves than to become “warriors” for God. We say we love God and turn our face from Him. Many of our brethren fight against each rather to come together as on Holy Roman Catholic Apostolic Church.

Our Lady speaks of a remnant that will be left after the heavy trials that are coming in our life time. She is calling all of us to rise and defend our Faith. She is seeking sinners to turn to Our Lord Jesus Christ. She is seeking men and woman to be like Saint Michael the Archangel…. “Who is like unto God”. I pray that all of us put away our fears and come before God and ask for a blessing and direction. Many of our Christian ancestors fought for our Faith and our Church. The “Torch” has been handed to us by God. Who will answer His call? I for one, see a mighty army of warriors to help all our brethren for the coming times. I ask that you make commitment to God and share the “Message s of Our Lady.

Since I was directed to start sharing the messages two weeks ago, I have received hundreds of emails/phone calls from all over the world. Almost everyone have experience the same messages that I have been sharing. We are fighting evil that wants to devour mankind. Are you ready to do the Will of Our Lord.

    God bless all of you!

    John

If the majority of mankind is against us and we stand alone with God…. We are in the majority!

Let us commit ourselves to become an “Army of Warriors” for Our Lord and Our Lady.

May the we be blessed in the Name of the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit

    Aviso,

Isn't this reference to the refuges in Revelation? In our time, our catacombs.

    Apocalypse (Revelation) 12:14
And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

May I appeal for a ceasefire here amid all the strong emotions that are being expressed?

Firstly, after reading some of the posts on this thread a few days ago, I went to the Scriptures, and what jumped off the page at me was Gamaliel's sound advice to the Sanhedrin in Acts 5:38-39 when some were arguing that they should put the apostles to death:

In the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go: For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.

There are obviously two opposite dangers in a case such as the present one. The first would be to accept uncritically any vision or locution that comes along. This would be clearly unscriptural, but it is not what John Martinez Jr. is asking us to do: if you read through what he has written at www.afterthewarning.com he is inviting our discernment. This is of course absolutely necessary given the gravity of some of the visions he has described.

The second danger, however, is to dismiss what a purported messenger is saying on the basis of a priori notions of what we may think God is or is not saying at a given time: this is just as dangerous as you may discover at a later date that you have been dismissing God's word, not a human one. Hence the continued pertinence of Gamaliel's words.

To those of you who are unhappy at John's strong reaction, please try at least to understand it on a human level. If someone (especially a person with official diocesan responsibilities) is convinced that they have been receiving private revelation over several years and have gone through a discernment process with a spiritual director they are hardly likely to be pleased when anonymous commentators make pronouncements on the authenticity of the supposed message on the basis of nothing more than casual acquaintance with a few blog posts. John's response may seem unduly combative to some, but please remember a) that he is personally heavily invested in this ministry b) the stakes are extremely high and c) he is writing in his second language.

The essential question IMHO is this: are JM's messages and visions genuine revelation or rather the total or partial projection of his own subjectivity (e.g. influenced at a subconscious level by his reading of other material - which is for example how I tend to view several alleged mystics out there such as John Leary), and how can he and we ascertain the difference? This is a difficult question which requires careful probing, patience and humility on all sides.

What I can say with a certain degree of confidence, however, is the following:
    i) The book of Joel as quoted by Peter on the Day of Pentecost leads us to expect that in the 'last days' (which Peter of course already applied to his own time) there will be an outpouring of the Spirit on all flesh, with dreams and visions. Jesus tells us in John 16:13 that telling the disciples 'what is yet to come' is part of the work of the Holy Spirit. Moreover, it was the Apostle Paul's desire that Christians should 'eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy' [...] 'I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy.' (I Corinthians 14: 1, 5) Prophetic revelation will be a generalized phenomenon, not restricted to a few individuals; it follows from this that prophecy as such should not be rare, so John's view of prophetic revelation as a giant 'puzzle' (composed of sources of which none is exhaustive) is not at all unreasonable. What can be considered rare, however, is prophecy which not only has implications for the individual or local church community but for the world as a whole. This is where very cautious discernment is needed, as it is quite possible that a Christian with an authentic prophetic gifting may nonetheless be sincerely mistaken about the scope of his/her prophetic revelation (this kind of confusion is a known problem in charismatic circles).

ii) If an individual is psychologically stable, a sustained period of 'open visions' - as opposed to one-off dreams - is less easily generated out of one's own consciousness than locutions of the purely 'internal' type.

iii) His visions concerning America may sound drastic, but they are by no means isolated; similar things can be found not only in Catholic sources (e.g. Nancy Fowler) but also in non-Catholic ones (Glynda Lomax/Linkous and John Paul Jackson -also both Texas-based - have given detailed descriptions of very similar visions, while the 'splitting' of America in the middle has for example been prophesied by Indian Christian visionary Sadhu Sundar Selveraj). The question naturally arises as to why this material is so convergent: should it all just be attributed to 'eschatological overheating', mutual suggestion, or is there something deeper going on.

iv) the alleged manifestation of Christ to John Martinez as a lamb is again not an isolated occurrence: the 'coming out of Christ as Lamb' has for example been a major focus of Terry Bennett's recent prophetic ministry. More generally, Jesus showing himself in animal form, while at first sight counter-intuitive, seems uncannily common, the other obvious example being the many reports of close encounters with the 'Lion of Judah' (Sadhu Sundar Selveraj, Neville Johnson, Anne Elmer...) - you may dismiss this as simply the result of overdosing on the Chronicles of Narnia, but you could also counter that C.S. Lewis's literary creation of Aslan was in some way a case of deeply inspired artistic intuition, an argument supported by the extraordinary impact that the Narnia chronicles continue to have half a century after their publication.

But don't we already have proof of refuges in the world? Medjugorje was a refuge from the war that raged around it; Kibeho was a refuge in Rwanda and Akita suffered much less damage from the Japanese quake despite being close to the epicenter. I have heard so many testimonies of people being spared damage to property or harm while praying the rosary, so why would Our Lady not do the same and more for those who seek her protection in coming times?

In France, Marie-Julie Jahenny has identified certain regions as refuges from the worst of the calamities and there must be similar messages for all regions of the world.

But I agree with everyone else that, refuge or not, we need to pray, pray, pray to seek our Lord's will for us and follow that guidance not follow the first supposed prophet telling us to take cover in spot A, B or C. In the messages to Jahenny, protection will not be offered to the insincere even in places of supposed refuge, so we are supposed to make our refuges first in Mary's Immaculate Heart and pray for strength, love and guidance.

As a P.S. to this, read Fr Dwight Longenecker's Aleteia article 'Pope Francis, Evangelical Catholic' to which Spirit Daily has just provided a link:

Fr Longenecker had been a little sceptical about the Pope Francis/Tony Palmer reconciliation initiative back in January, but his latest article is absolutely on the money IMHO.

fallen saint, on the flip side of your aruement, should not a Christian respect others whom they disagree with? Shouldn't a Christian be one in charity when they respond against something they do not agree with. Shouldn't a Christian put into prayer what has been spoken and sincerely see if it is they who are in error? I often look at what Jesus said on his journey and how many times he was misunderstood by the scholars and Jewish leaders of his time, finally putting him to death for what they refused to understand.

John has said nothing contrary to our faith teachings, yet he is ridiculed , slandered, rejected or ignored. Why? Let him speak and pray for him. In doing so the Holy Spirit has a chance to work within you to see the truth in this matter.
