(Saint) Padre Pio affirms Garabandal to a PH.D in confession.

Joachim Bouflet,PH.D. went to Padre Pio for confession in July of 1968. Padre Pio told him "Pray to the Madonna. Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel." "Yes, Padre, I pray to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For that matter, I would like to become a Carmelite." He didn't comment on this but repeated with insistence, "Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel who appeared at Garabandal."
    "So it's true?"
"Certo e vero!" ("Yes, it's true!")

From the book “The FINAL Hour “ (Michael Brown) page 141
On the topic of Padre Pio ‘s belief in Garabandal:“Asked on another occasion about its authenticity, he answered curtly, ”How many times must she appear there to be believed ? “Handed a book on Garabandal, Padre Pio gazed fixedly ath the cover and as though by chance, opened to the page with the last message-” the cup was overflowing” message of June 18,1965. He then closed the book and blessed it.From the book “Thunder of Justice “ page 163 : An incident which confirms Padre Pio’s belief in Garabandal occurred early in 1966. Conchita, who was only 16 years old,was visiting Rome with her mother and Fr. Luna. She had been invited by Cardinal Ottaviani, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. During the visit,Conchita met privately with Padre Pio. On this occasion, he took Conchita’s hand and her crucifix that Our Lady had kissed in Garabandal and held them both in his own two hands. The crucifix had passed through the hands of the child Jesus, during the apparition of November 13,1965.

QUOTES ON PADRE PIO'S BELIEF IN GARABANDAL :Joey Lomangino’s recall of the when he talked to Padre Pio: “We made arrangements to come back again that same day and greeted Padre Pio in the cloister. When we knelt down, we said to him, “Padre Pio, is it true that the Virgin is appearing to the four girls of Garabandal?” And he said, “Yes.” We said, “Padre Pio, should we go there? He said, “Yes, why not?” And that’s how it happened. Because I received the assurance from Padre Pio that the Virgin was appearing and that he permitted me to go, then I wasn’t afraid and I went. “

What is this? Is it the cloth that covers the chalice of the blood of Christ that St. Pio used?

This is so pointless, you can't have a discussion when one side provides facts and the opposite opinions are not supported by documentation or facts to substantiate it. Obviously one side is incorrect.
I'll stick with Saint Pio, Saint Pope John Paul II, Pope Paul VI, Blessed Mother Teresa, Saint Jose Marie Escriva, Cardinal Ottaviani (Vatican Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) , ArchBishop of Oviedo Spain, ArchBishop Manuel Lopez of Mexico, Bishop of Fatima Joao Venancio, Blessed Maria Rafols, Blessed Madre Maravillas, Venerable Fr. Ciszek,Venerable Padre Nieto, and others.
Steve , good luck with Mike and your neighbor.

Thanks. Nice to see a voice of reason on here, Steve. I was initially excited about Garabandal when I found out about it in the early 1980s. However, the more I studied it, the more I realized this was likely not from God. My initial post actually pointed out some positive aspects of Garabandal and I tried to give the benefit of the doubt to the visionaries in several instances. I have no hatred for Garabandal and never accused the visionaries of a deliberate hoax. I'm simply concerned that it may be a huge distraction and deception, which will ultimately harm many people. It's troubling to see people who seem to have so much emotional and spiritual investment in an UNAPPROVED PRIVATE REVELATION which has so many red flags which people either overlook or severely strain credulity to explain because they want it to be true so badly. It seems very reasonable to advise caution. It's ironic that these people seem to trust and believe in these visions even more than the actual visionaries do.

If I am not mistaken and Glenn please correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the current visionaries who are still alive not commenting or saying much on the issue in obedience to their Bishop who told them to not talk about it? Again I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere once before on it. If this is the case then they are not saying that they do not believe, they are just not commenting on it or say things like, "I don't recall' to obey their Bishops. If this is the case then it makes even a stronger case for the validity since obedience to your Bishop is first and foremost of importance for the mystics of the church. Even the Blessed Mother obeyed the local priest in Garabandal which is quite phenomenal when you think of it.

Actually it is even better than this Andy. They asked for permission from their local Bishop (in years past when they were talking ) even though they DID NOT have to. There has never been any restrictions on promotion. The Pope, has final say on all apparitions. Pope Paul VI who said that" it is most important and most urgent to make these messages known to the world."

There is a HUGE diference between unapproved and condemned. Garabandal has never been condemned, and is not approved YET. The Vatican is waiting for the Warning & Miracle. Pope Paul VI, having gathered ALL the information and interviewing Conchita, was very supportive, realizing that the original commission was biased, and refused to interview A SINGLE PERSON, even thought there were hundreds who asked to be interviewed.

I still hope for the' warning' like most others , but am a fence sitter on 'Garabandal'

My big 'Flag' is the Dead paralytic boy who was meant to be healed on the day of the miracle.

The question is can True 'APPARITIONS' Support failed prophecy? even 1?

Do we have a Lawyer on the Forum? Would all the Padre Pio evidence hold up in a court of Law? As it is always 2nd or 3rd hand.

Would a court of law be able to prove that Jesus rose from the dead?

The weight of evidence suggests that Garabandal is a true private revelation. To be fair, Glenn has provided lots of evidence on this thread and I admire his deep knowledge of the events that comes from intense study and interest. He must be considered to be an expert on Garabandal and we are so blessed to have him on the Forum.

We await the warning and miracle before the Church makes a decision.

Glad you are 'troubled' and interested in our spiritual well being Mike. I have known some of the members on this forum for years and they are good holy and loyal Catholics whose faith is not dependent on private revelation. You make many assumptions for one who is new to the forum.

Perhaps you have an agenda against Garabandal since you haven't posted on any other thread?

For me, the greatest confirmation of Garabandal is Joey Lomangino's supernatural healing of his sense of smell from the same saint, Padre Pio, who told him through Conchita that "when the Miracle takes place at the pines, you will receive your eye site again". Now you may say his healing was no big deal. Well try severing your olfactory nerve and see if you can smell, then come tell me it was no big deal, " Oh Ye of little faith". Our Lady of Garabandal is all over Joey (y)
