    I like this part:
Q: What about his focus on uniquely Catholic issues, like the intense focus on Mary?

A: His devotion to Mary, mother of God, is very deep. One of his first acts as pope was to go to a Roman church and pray before a statue of Mary.

Pope Francis does not approach Mary from a theological point of view. He approaches her as a mother and as a sacrificial figure, and that's probably different than how Pope Benedict would have written or spoken about Mary.

This resonates with a lot of Catholics around the world, especially in Latin America, where devotion to Mary is quite common.

^^^ I hope the Pope is rather stern on the US stance on abortion and gay marriage but I find little hope in Obama changing his views on this strong, liberal view. His party runs heavily on these issues so how could Obama change these views? As I say this though I am reminded that nothing is impossible through prayer with God so we all should pray that in this meeting Jesus and Mary truly touch the heart of the President.

Andy- I agree that anything is possible with prayer but when a man, a father says, " I don't wanted my daughter PUNISHED with a baby" it highlights a deep and dark perspective.

Devil is working hard on securing end times ( Pope Francis is not shy about preaching on how the battle between good and evil has already begun )
    https://www.osv.com/OSVNewsweekly/A...il-is-working-hard-on-securing-end-times.aspx

Very interesting quote: " In short, this pope is a believer in the end times who’s convinced they aren’t merely coming but are, in a sense, already being played out before our eyes. This, likewise, is someone who believes the devil is real and perceives a demonic hand at work in current events. "

and this quote : "Francis evidently thinks at least some end-times events are already taking place. But that’s not new. “With God’s coming into history,” he said, “we are already in the last times” — and could be for a long while to come. "

I almost have to laugh when I read any "news" article from the MSM. They selectively quote from some fringe group who says the "majority" of Catholics don't agree with the Pope or Church on sexual morality issues. First, I'm not sure it us even an accurate statement but more importantly, who cares? It's not an opinion or popularity contest- the Pope is and must say the Truth even if ultimately no one agrees. Once again, it's the MSM very open style to subtlety attack the Pope. It's generally why I stay away from most MSM and when I do read it, I do so with a very wary eye.

    From the article:

To be sure, the relationship between the Obama administration and the Catholic Church is a fraught one. And Vatican officials say Obama would not leave without hearing Francis' opposition to Obama's health care law and its mandates for contraception coverage. The Supreme Court this week seemed divided when hearing arguments in a case in which companies argued that they have religious rights and can object to such coverage based on such beliefs.

Anticipating that the issue will be a topic of their meeting, Catholics for Choice published an ad Thursday in the International New York Times as an open letter to Obama declaring that "Francis' interpretation of church teachings does not represent that of the majority of Catholics, especially on issues related to sexuality, reproductive health and family life."
