Praying for healing upon Will now. Prayers for the intercession of archangel St. Raphael in his healing also.
Yes, he's done that a few times. The hard part is that there's a possibility that it's a tonsil abscess, and not just an ordinary bacterial infection, in which case we'd have to take him to the hospital to have it lanced and cleaned out. And of course that seems very scary to him. He's the kind of kid that already tends to struggle terribly with anxiety over things, so I've been praying and praying that the tonsil will begin shrinking and showing us it's not an abscess. But every day I check a few times and it still seems just as big. The doctor said if it passes the midway point of his throat we have to take him to the hospital. It's nearly there, but that's how big it's been the whole time (well, at least since Will first showed me).
Well I am praying away. I know a lot of good people on the forum are praying too. A prayer asked is a prayer answered. If you know a good priest he might give a special healing blessing? You have great Faith. https://www.simplycatholic.com/the-blessing-of-st-blaise/ Throat blessings The candles used in the blessing of throats may be those blessed on Candlemas, Feb. 2, or when blessed during the St. Blaise memorial, this beautiful prayer from the Roman Ritual is provided: “God, almighty and all-mild, by your Word alone you created the manifold things in the world, and willed that the same Word by whom all things were made take flesh in order to redeem mankind; you are great and immeasurable, awesome and praiseworthy, a wonder of marvels. Hence in professing his faith in you the glorious martyr and bishop, Blaise, did not fear any manner of torment but gladly accepted the palm of martyrdom. In virtue of which you bestowed on him, among other gifts, the power to heal all ailments of the throat. And now we implore your majesty that, overlooking our guilt and considering only his merits and intercession, it may please you to bless and sanctify and impart your grace to these candles. Let all men of faith whose necks are touched with them be healed of every malady of the throat, and being restored in health and good spirits let them return thanks to you in your holy Church, and praise your glorious name which is blessed forever; through Christ our Lord.”
There are times I do not always reply on some posts due to memory or distractions, just know God remembers each request. I call them promised prayers, at my age I categorize them separate. I may start writing them in my book but for now I let God do the work. Just know that you are remembered.
Lately have been trying to work on forgiveness and have been placing an emphasis on "as we forgive those who trespass against us" when saying the Lord's prayer.
Finding things difficult at the moment. Doing my best to trust. Feeling under attack but trying to trust that God is there still in the darkness. Praying to saint Joseph. Sorry about posting this but under attack spiritually at the moment.
I read in John's gospel recently that nothing can separate us from Jesus and His love. Trying to hold on to that.
"For I am convinced neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Roman's 8:39
I did some bad things in the past and worried that God doesn't forgive me but I have been to confession many times since
Don't slip back, Peter. Re-read AED's post #2473. If you have to re-read it daily, do what's necessary. When I pray the the daily Auxilium Christianorum I will remember you, but strive to be stouthearted and do your part. I'm not insisting you be faultlessly perfect (who is this side of the grave?), but to strive to be, knowing we are with you. Merciful Lord, embrace Peter with your Love!
