I am not sure how long it takes but apparently two thirds of the Jews in Israel get wiped out in the process. Read chapters 12 through 14 for more details.

 

I think the Bishops of Vatican II were very aware of the events of the Holocaust, which was still a very recent event and, although there were exaggerations and a gross and opportunistic exploitation and laying on of guilt by a Jewish people whose numbers were greater after the war than before it (according to their own data), it was undeniable that it was real and appalling. Therefore, and wrongly-as The Church could have done no more to help the Jews, who were very grateful during the war and in its immediate aftermath, but eaten bread is soon forgotten-the Bishops made concessions which they ought not have done. But, the pressure and propaganda at the time was very severe. And, we know more clearly than ever what they are capable of, but they had everyone at the time convinced that they were the purest, most guiltless of innocents.

Since VII, we’ve had all this dialogue. The Iranians can tell you how honourable and honest they are about that. Anyway, it’s been a history of one-way concessions, which will ultimately lead to bowdlerism of the Gospels and the suppression of the Crucifix, if the course is not changed.

By all accounts it is already quietly doing so. It is not going to be improved by killing them.

I have more respect for the Iranians than to think that many of them will betray their nation at time of war. I think they will deal with the satanists first. Then, maybe, they'll aim for regime change on their own terms.

Yes, AED, we are those who must stand in the breach! We have access to the Throne room, to the King and His Queen Mother. The US Bishops have published a great list of Biblical verses which cry out to the Lord for peace, but no matter whether we use such a resource or cry out to God from the heart as the Spirit leads, we must unfailingly pray for God's intervention each day! The whole world economic system, which deeply depends on the flow of oil, is now crippled, with no relief in sight. We must be like Queen Esther of old, who went to the Lord in her concern for her People. I have humbly pluralized certain nouns to adapt a little bit more to our international predicament:

I have only begun to study Judaism more intensively in the last few days, so I only have rudimentary knowledge.
Fr Ripperger's statement on the destruction of the Second Temple prompted me to think about. He said, in essence, that Jews have not been able to fulfil their sacrificial duties since the destruction in 70 AD, as the place for offering sacrifices no longer exists.
Then I came across the fact that Rabbinic Judaism only came into being at that time (70 AD) and that, before that, it was essentially only the Pharisees who practised something similar. A form of Judaism in which God's commandments are interpreted by scholars (nowadays rabbis) and laid down in detailed laws on how they are to be practised (Talmud).
Only about 0.1 % of Jews, the Karaites, practise Judaism according to the Hebrew Bible (Tanach), which largely corresponds to our Old Testament, without the Talmud.
This may mean that today's Jewish groups have relatively little in common with the Judaism of Jesus' time. They no longer have their temple anyway.
There are various rabbinical interpretations regarding correct religious practices. Different Jewish religious communities with their own rabbis.

So I ask myself, how Jewish are Jews today?

What is becoming increasingly clear to me is that there are Jewish faiths/movements that, at some point in time, took a wrong turn.
I believe that those who practise Kabbalah in particular have exposed themselves to the danger of being influenced by evil forces through their occult practices.
One example of this is the Hasidic movement, from which a Jewish group has developed that today has a great deal of influence on positions of power (including political ones).
According to Wikipedia, its founder died at the age of 66 and was named Baal Shem Tov...Coincidence?
