They show different views here, it does appear that the car made contact with a man in front of the car. DHS said a woman attempted to run over ICE officers before being shot in Minneapolis. Here’s what videos show
This is the fundamental and preferred attitude of a Chaplain. Yes, God may provide a unique and encouraging word of comfort or wisdom, but a loving availability and presence is key. We will all need encouragement in each of our personal times of illness, loss, and suffering! Colossians 1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church. To tell you the truth, it appears in the above verse that Christ's sufferings lacked something. But to understand more clearly, it must be preceded by: Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. This teaching is then rounded out: Philippians 3:10 10 May I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
I read somewhere the same officer that did the shooting had 6 months earlier been dragged by a car for some distance and ended up with almost 30 some stitches. without going into blame - personally I think if an officer is approaching me I am stopping and listening to what he says and Not trying to make a get away.
That is true for most but with these ICE officers there is great fear that they just take you into detention and then later you have to prove that you are legally resident. I watched the footage on SkyNews. The woman tried to make a getaway in her car but the ICE officer tried to open the door. He then went and stood in front of the car. She then tried to get around him by locking her wheels hard to the right and the car made a jolt forward and stopped abruptly so as not to hit the officer. The ICE officer quickly went to one side - the side where there was a bullet hole through the front window, low down in the corner. He also, according to SkyNews, fired two shots through the left hand side open window of the car. I would consider this behaviour swashbuckeling, reckless and trigger-happy. He should have let the driver go and took registration details to prevent loss of life.
The video I watched showed it to be two different men. One trying to open the door the other in front of the car
Ok you are right. I remember there were two officers but one appeared to get out of his car and stand by the open door. The footage I watched was not continuous but rather video snipets.
It was two different officers. One was by the door, the other in front of the vehicle. Her car lurched forward and made contact with the officer in front of the vehicle, and then he pulled his gun, after contact was made. It can be clearly seen from the video taken from the front right side of the car.
Thank you Sam for posting these 3 angles. Watching the 3 videos (pausing and playing a second at a time) you can see: Officer #1 approaches the vehicle on the driver's side. Officer #2 approaches from the rear passenger side. Officer #1 puts his arm in the open driver's side window and attempts to open the door. The driver puts it in reverse when Officer #1 attempts to open the door. Meanwhile Officer #2 has reached the front of the vehicle. During the next second it is important to review the footage frame by frame: After reversing, her brake and reverse lights are off, she puts it in drive quickly and literally spins her tires going forward, as yet not turning her wheels fully to the right. Officer #1 still has one arm in the car and the other hand is trying to open the door with the outside door handle. As soon as she spins her wheels going forward, Officer #2 draws his gun...the car at this point has not fully turned the wheels to the right so he is right in line to get hit. The wheels are turned fully right just as the vehicle strikes the officer. Just after the car contacts Officer #2 (see his legs/feet slip sideways) he fires his gun... So... -We don't know if she even saw the officer she struck (#2) since she was likely engaged with officer #1 reaching in her window and officer (#2 ) had approached from the rear when the driver was dealing with officer #1 . -So we can't definitively say if she intentionally hit officer #2. -Officer #2 certainly had good cause to draw his weapon since the car was spinning it's wheels and coming at him, and indeed struck him. The officers had the right to order her to get out of the car... From wiki... Supreme Court Precedent: The U.S. Supreme Court cases, including Pennsylvania v. Mimms (for drivers) and Maryland v. Wilson (for passengers), established that officers can order occupants out of a vehicle during a lawful traffic stop. The reasoning is based primarily on officer safety, as traffic stops are inherently unpredictable and potentially dangerous situations. Praying for all involved.
I think Mark Mallet's instincts are right and we are still on kinda a slow burn. That does not mean things have not gone up a few notches and events are not falling into place. But I don;t think things are going to go with a bang right away.
I wonder at the rage that propelled this woman to forget her 6 year old son and spend days agitating against ICE. He is now motherless. Fortunately his grandfather is coming to get him. But what other than diabolic disorientation could provoke her into such actions. We are in a serious mess in this country. God help us because without Him we have arrived at this point.
Apparently Renee Good, the woman who was shot, was there with her "wife". That's most likely the source of diabolical disorientation. Those poor abused children.
I read that 28% of Gen Z has been aborted, so imagine the statistics for Gen Alpha. Then you have same sex couples having more kids. Sigh, make it make sense. I can't see God allowing much more of this madness... Things are probably going to come much sooner than expected, IMHO.
