ADVENT & LENT As we begin the “Advent season”, I want you to think about how it mirrors Lent. Both are times of preparation for meeting Jesus. During Lent we focus on sacrifice and penance in preparation for celebrating the risen Christ. Here during Advent , we too should be focused again on sacrifice and penance for celebrating the birth of the infant Jesus . I hear Conchita's words to me one Christmas season, she said" What are you doing for Jesus for his birthday ? “ Our Lady's 1st Message of Garabandal :October 18, 1961-- “We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. A description of life in Garabandal in 1961. In the days when our story starts, the Chief of Police in the district of Rio Nansa was Juan Alvarez Seco. This is his description: "Garabandal is a little mountain town made up of about seventy families. The customs of its inhabitants are primarily religious. For example, they never forget to recite the Angelus as soon as the clock shows twelve noon. In the evening they always recite the holy rosary in the church. This is led by the parish priest if he is present; if not, the schoolteacher or another villager leads it. As night falls, Jacinta's mother, the wife of Simon, goes around the village with a lantern and bell to call the people to pray for the dead and say the last prayers of the day. On Sundays after assisting at Holy Mass in the ancient simple church, the people take a little recreation. In the evening the young people gather under the porch roofs or the open sky and sing or amuse themselves to the sound of a tambourine." “ She went in haste to the Mountain” Book 1, page 19
December 3,1966 From " Conchita's Diary" ( Why Mary visits ) "When I think about the Virgin, I picture her as something I dreamed. How nice it would be if now she would come here in this parlor with the two of us! What a joy! It isn't necessary to be perfect to see her. I have been a girl with many faults. On the day on which the Angel appeared to us, I had just fought with Jacinta. And I see that today I still don't like to pray. She comes to make us good ."
Underrated post. I don't know that I know how to put what I think you are getting at into words. Is it something like it isn't by our own efforts we become good, but that by co-operating with what is good we can become good? So Our Lady, who is good, by her very nature comes to make us good. She isn't reliant on us but we are reliant on her.
Why are you so confused by this simple message ? "She comes to make us good." She came and taught us at Garabandal how to lead a better life, a holier life. SIMPLE.

TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: DECEMBER 6, 1962 Conchita learned on this day that an almost generalized disaffection for Garabandal, would come only one week before “D Day”, in other words, as early as the day following the announcement that she would make. There will be few people at the village to attend the great Miracle on site. Nevertheless, it will be seen on television, could be filmed ,etc. The Visionary declared on the other hand, that as the future great events draw near “ presumed and false manifestations of the Blessed Virgin will increase considerably “. MIRACLE DAY DETAILS 1.Conchita is the only Visionary who knows the date. 2.Conchita will reveal it 8 days in advance. (I will announce on all my language pages). 3. The girls said it will happen between the Months of March, April and May, BUT My research says it will be in April ! (I am sure of this ). 4. It will be on a Thursday evening, In April between the 8th -16th, at 8:30pm ( Spanish time ). 5. It will be on the Feast Day of a young male Martyr of the Eucharist. (already a Martyr in 1963 when she saw his name). 6. The Martyr will not be Spanish. 7. It will coincide with a great event in the Church, but will not be a feast day of our Lord or a Marian feast day. It will NOT be on Holy Thursday,Corpus Chisti or the Ascension. 8. It will be visible to all in the Village of Garabandal, and the surrounding mountains. The sick who are present will be cured and the incredulous will believe. It will be the greatest miracle that Jesus will have performed for the world. There won't be the slightest doubt that it comes from God . 9. It will be able to be filmed and televised. 10. It will last for about 15 minutes, and after that a permanent sign will remain at the Pines forever
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1964: CONCHITA'S NEW LOCUTION: SHE IS TOLD THAT ST. MICHAEL WILL COME AGAIN . . . "JUNE 18TH, 1965!" During a locution that occurred on this December 8, 1964, the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel revealed to Conchita that she would have a new apparition of the Archangel St. Michael, on next June 18, (1965). I was curious as to possibilities for the date of the Miracle so I've done a brief examination of upcoming calendars without making a guess. Another note: based on the above information from Glenn (post 7751), the possible dates of the Miracle are as follows: (Since there are multiple suggestions for applicable saints from other sources I only included names that were listed on one particular calendar site I used): 2026 : April 9th (St. Casilda) or April 16 (St. Bernadette) 2027 or 2032: April 8(St. Julie Billiart) or April 15 (Blessed Caesar de Bus) 2028: no because (4/13 falls on Holy Thursday) 2029: Thursday falls on April 12th (St. Teresa of the Andes) 2030: Thursday falls on April 11th (St. Stanislaus) 2031: Thursday falls on April 10th (Blessed James Oldo) 2032: see above ...2033: Thursday falls on April 14th (Blessed Peter Gonzalez) ___________________________________________________________ I believe from what little time I spent looking into it: it is not worth speculating. THE BISHOP & COMMISSION WAS BIASED FROM THE START AGAINST GARABANDAL ! The Bishops were dead set against approving this apparition from day one ! Did you know that the very priest who they sent to head the investigation, (Don Juan Dal Val Gallo ) came back a believer ! Then RESIGNED! When that didn't work, they sent doctors, but the doctors were dumbfounded as to how the girls in ecstasy were impervious to pain ! They were burned with matches, stuck with needles, pinched, had sand thrown in their eyes,and also camera flash bulb (but didn't blink) darn near torture ! But they too failed to explain this as a "natural event" or the girls imagination. Now the Bishop is so mad, he even REFUSED the testimony OF POLICE CIVIL GUARDS. The worst part, they REFUSED to interview A SINGLE PERSON ! HOW CAN YOU CALL THIS A VALID INVESTIGATION WHEN THEY NEVER INTERVIEWED THE GIRLS , THE PARISH PRIESTS, the girl’s parents, family, friends, other villagers ??? There were hundreds of witnesses who begged to testify, and they would not hear them for fear of convincing the public it WAS TRUE ! There was such a LACK OF EVIDENCE to support his position, that NO REPORT WAS EVER SENT TO THE VATICAN !! MORE REASONS THE COMMISSION WAS BIASED AGAINST GARABANDAL ! Now add the second message of the Blessed Mother that said "Many Cardinals, many Bishops and many Priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them " WOW, so the very people in charge of the investigation, are being called out by Mary, and they don't like being "knocked off their pedestal " of reverence in the people’s eyes. And you wonder why the approval did not happen then. Thank God, that the likes of Pope Paul VI, Padre Pio, kept hope alive because of their belief in the early days, or this would have been dead and buried. As the evidence mounted that Mary was appearing, and reports of Padre Pio who not only believed but bi-located to Garabandal to see Conchita, the best that they could do is say that the apparitions were " Non-constat de supernaturalitate - It is not certain that the events are of supernatural origin. ". Today , as of 2024, the recent categorization of Garabandal under the new norms, such as Curatur (category three of six), which recognizes positive elements and verifiable spiritual fruits while advising against encouraging the phenomenon due to certain critical elements,it is still not certain of being supernatural. This is just a few reasons the early generations had little interest ,until Joey Lomangino went to confession to Padre Pio ,and he confirmed the validity of the apparitions and came back to America and started his apostolate. I worked with Joey for many decades and continue his apostolate work here. Now it is up to us to get this message out before the Warning & Miracle ! We have the enormous advantage of the internet and media that no other age had. God has given us the tools to awaken the world to the truth of our Lady's messages NOW, before it’s too late ! As we all know, it is odd that the young, male martyr of the Eucharist would have been read by Conchita on her calendar and yet we have no such saints on the target date range in April. Perhaps it is possible that this bit of information has a slightly different meaning. Could it be possible that what was meant, in a hidden way, was that date correlates to a date in a different manner. In those years, St. Tarcisus was celebrated on Aug 15th. This could explain why Conchita said she saw the name on her calender and the "date" (ie. the 15th). Perhaps the key is the saint alongside the date itself. That could signify April 15th. The next April 15th that falls on a Thursday is in the year 2032. Quite interesting in that it will be one year before the 2000th anniversary of Christ's death and resurrection (at least the official year within the Church). I may be way off but it is something to consider.
This is not logical. Why would she connect August 15 to April 15 , she knows the date is in April, why would she assume its a saint from August ?
