I see Papa Leo is heading off to Turkey and Lebanon for his first visits abroad. Such interesting choices.:)

I wonder if he will go to the USA?

We must differentiate between creation and the mundane. Creation must be respected and admired.
The mundane, idols, power, money, pleasure, consumerism, superiority of any kind, indifference, selfishness, pride, lies, etc., are what we must avoid.
The poem "Canticle to the Creatures" by Saint Francis of Assisi reflects that all creation is the work of God and that all beings should treat one another as brothers and sisters, emphasizing that the entire world, created by God, is worthy of love and that by loving creation, man manifests his love for God.

Holy Rosary: Leo XIV celebrates Vespers ad orientem in Domus Australia

It was the first "ad orientem" Office celebration by Leo XIV as pope, and it took place during his visit to Domus Australia (the pilgrim house established by the bishops of Australia in Rome) yesterday.

Under the chanting of the Tu es Petrus, the pope entered and knelt for a time in silent prayer before the Tabernacle and the image of the Mother of God.

Among those present were Cardinal Burke and Cardinal van Eijk. Both are very good friends and publicly support the traditional liturgy and the withdrawal of the current restrictive measures.

For the first time, the Holy Father wore a detailed traditional alb, as did the liturgical assistants. In addition to the sub-dalmatics of the recent canonization, this is a subtle sign towards tradition.

Vespers were celebrated in Latin and "ad orientem" (even though the altar is freestanding, and not particularly intended for versus Deum celebration). The altar of the church was consecrated in 2011 by Cardinal George Pell.

The Holy Mass did change in 1969. That is why the other thing is called the Novus Ordo, the New Order. It is diabolical disorientation that prevents someone from seeing this.

That’s uncharitable towards the great majority who now know nothing other than the NO, which for all its deficiencies is still, unless grossly abused, a Holy Mass.

Latin is a beautiful language for mass. We must remember that the original was Aramaic or Koine.

I have never attended an vetus ordo mass because they disappeared when I was born.

Thank you DeGaulle. I am one of the NO faithful, as there is only one parish in my state that offers the traditional Latin Mass it's two hours from my home.

That is me as well. I am blessed the priests are uniformly reverant and
Faith filled. We have not been left orphans.

No, it is never uncharitable to tell the truth to people who are deceived. In fact, it is a spiritual act of mercy recognized by the Church for ages.

The fact that people get angry when they are told the truth is not the problem of the truth-teller. Jesus was murdered for it. St. Stephen was murdered for it. All the martyrs of the Catholic Faith were murdered for telling a truth that people listening did not want to hear.

So, I stand by what I said, and tell you it is uncharitable for you to stay silent if you know you might be able to assist souls in moving toward the truth.

  10. The Mass did change yet it still is a miracle. But when it changes again, and it will, it will have no words of Consecration, no words of love for Jesus....that is the change that Bl Ann Emmerich spoke of.
Very beautiful Mass I attend and I am grateful. When I see someone demonizing the Mass, I know it's better to pray for them...demonic confusion can go both ways...

The words of Jesus did change. Jesus said that His blood would be "shed for you and for MANY." The Novus Ordo vernacular translations changed that to "for you and for ALL." Jesus did not say the word "all." He said the word "many." So the words of Consecration changed already, as I said.

The Mass is the bloodless remembrance of the Passion of Christ.
Truly that bread and wine have been transubstantiated into the Body and Blood of Christ.
Come and eat of Him all!

We eat that Bread of Life. Until when? Until we become another Christ, a Permanent Offering.

Until we stop being a mirror that reflects the Light and become a crystal that simply lets it pass without hindering. Until none of our ego takes away the prominence of those who live in us. Until someone becomes a servant who pours out like perfume at the feet of God and his neighbor (starting with his closest loved ones).

For all or for many is the same as mercy while you live or justice once you have died.

  15. This is an argument that doesn't belong on here.....better to pray for each other and for the Church.

N.O. is a valid Mass unless abused by the celebrant.
I refuse to engage with anyone who speaks in a disrespectful way to those of us who attend NO Mass. Charity first. God looks at the heart. We all need to look at others with the eyes of Jesus.

I don't doubt that the Novus Ordo Mass is valid, my heart goes on fire each time I attend.

Although I agree with Fulton Sheen that what we bring is what we take out. We have to go with Faith.

I don't recall Archbishop LeFevbre saying the New Mass wan invalid. Did he?
