I remember about 30 years ago when I was living in Monroe, Michigan. A group of Russian doctors was visiting our town as an exchange program. Our hosts took them to a large supermarket, Meijer, kind of like an upscale Walmart to shop. They were so overwhelmed at all the variety of items in the store they couldn't buy anything. We don't realize how blessed we are to live in the U.S.A. In God We Trust.
I don't think I've ever mat a Russian in my entire life, but of course I 've read s, 'The Way of the Pilgrim, which was wonderful. Also several of Catherine De Huewk Doherty's books. We are told that God will use Russia for the conversion of the World and that is why Our Lady of Fatima was so insistant on its Consecration to her Immaculate Heart. By accident I was watching some utube videos recently of American Catholics who have moved with their families to Russia to live. Quite a step! But they do appear to be prospering there.
The pro-Kremlin, pro-was ‘Z bloggers’ as they are called in Russia have for the past 3 years and more supported Putin in his efforts to take Ukraine. They have been permitted occasionally to make some mild criticism of the conduct of the hostilities so long as Putin himself was not the subject of their criticism. However, some of these people are beginning to lose patience with some decisions coming from the top and some have really lost their tempers over the decision of the BRICS group (which now includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the UAE) to formulate a Statement of Common Values. The bloggers state that calling the west ‘degenerate’ cannot be taken seriously in view of the un-Russian and un-Orthodox practices in countries which the Russian government now seeks to treat as friends and allies pretending that they share common values. These allied countries hold widely divergent views on such matters as ‘gay marriage’ and ‘pride parades’ (permitted in Brazil and South Africa), child marriage (females may be taken in marriage from the age of 9 years in Iran), they object to alliances with atheist governments which do not accord official rights to the practice of Orthodoxy (China), an Islamic theocracy (Iran) and those where Sharia law is in effect. One also points out that the practice of Bach Bazi is tolerated in parts of Pakistan which is a candidate member of BRICS (a disgusting practice that has been condemned as one of the grossest breaches of human rights suffered in the world - look it up). Although I disagree fundamentally with these bloggers about the war, I commend their bravery in pointing out the obvious. It will be interesting to see what happens to them. The most famous and popular crime fiction writers in Russia was recently sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for merely saying that he regards the Ukraine invasion as immoral and a strategic error. The claim above that US families who have moved to Russia 'appear to be prospering there' is contradicted in several YT videos in which the Russian authorities are heavily criticised by the migrants for their indifferent and unhelpful attitude (since taken down presumably at the insistence of their 'hosts').

The degeneracy of many of these countries, in this broad alliance, does not lessen in any way the supreme and defiant degeneracy of a West which has the added culpability that it ought to know better. Our Lord told us in one of His Gospel parables that 'stewards' who did not know the wrong of what they did would receive a milder beating than those who did. Nor is Russia exempt from degeneracy by any means. I simply favour its military prowess as a means of chastisement for the West, as indicated in the approved prophecies. It is prophesied that Russia will ultimately be defeated, which will be a Chastisement for herself and may bring her Church under the See of Peter. As regards 'common values' among such a disparate group of countries, the only real value they share is an opposition to what has become, in the last three-and-a-half decades, an aggressive US/Zionist military and economic imperialism. They are growing quickly, because they can see that the US is in rapid political, military, economic and financial decline, much of it self-induced. This was most clearly demonstrated by Trump's tariff fiasco with China, in which he had to reverse them because of his country's total technological and military dependence on his enemy's rare earths. Certainly, China and Russia are nasty, repressive regimes. But the punishment for wearing a Palestine t-shirt in the present-day United Kingdom is '14 years imprisonment' (note the parallel). In certain places, one cannot even pray silently. I don't see much difference.

My first instinct is that this is what is known as a 'false flag'. There is no benefit for Russia making incursions into Polish air-space. There are many war-mongers in Europe who greatly desire war, but lack any ability to prosecute it, but hope that the US can be provoked or persuaded into doing the heavy lifting for them. As the Ukraine war is nearing its end, it would be unsurprising if Poland, which considers much of Western Ukraine is their land, stolen from them by the Soviets after WWII, sought a pretext to move in there in order to 'impose peace and stability'. Hungary has expressed similar ambitions for much the same reasons. I don't think the Russians would be too worried at such developments. It is quite convenient that this incident serves as a distraction to the treacherous US/Israeli bombing of the negotiating site in Qatar. Trump's post, which is in a totally inappropriate medium, is highly irresponsible, given what might potentially be at stake. Still, he might only be expressing of his realisation that he is aware of what the Europeans are trying to pull. One hopes so. [Edit: it should be borne in mind that these drones were unarmed. It also speaks volumes that the Poles, these great arrow-points of NATO military might, seemingly only managed to bring down two of the fifteen, I think it was, involved].
