The only thing here is that there was a huge recent schism in Orthodoxy basically between Russia and Bartholomew in Instanbul over what is happening in Ukraine. Patriarch Bartholomew I think leads the much smaller or rump part of Orthodoxy. Russian Orthodoxy on the other hand has always had an implacable hostility to the Catholic Church and the West. Its just this piece talks about Orthodoxy as if it is united in the same sense that the Catholic Church is untied, but it is not and never has been. Especially at the moment when they are daggers drawn.
Its good that the Church condemns this and it got a huge amount of media attention. But it makes me sad . There is a massive slaughter going on there every day and this makes it seem that only when Catholics are attacked is it such a big deal.
I'm not anti-American. I am certainly opposed and appalled at what American interference has done and continues to do in the Middle East either directly or through its proxy Israel. It's simply shocking. America is to blame for the genocide in Gaza. American Christian Zionists are sullying Christianity in regions of the world yet to be evangelised.
True. We are all God’s children. Catholic, Muslim, Jew, white, black, Chinese. Remember the Rwanda genocide? Possibly one million people were slaughtered and the world looked the other way. Why? Frankly because they were all black and poor. Can you imagine if one million white Americans or Western Europeans were slaughtered? 1 John 3 1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
Cardinal Pizzaballa: The time has come for leaders to raise their voices and to do all what is necessary in order to stop this tragedy which is humanly and morally, unjustified,” the statement demanded. “This horrific war must come to a complete end – so that we may commence the long work of restoring human dignity.” The time has come? Really? I thought the time had come long ago? And what war is he talking about? There is only genocide and ethnic cleansing. Thousands of women and children being slaughtered on a regular basis while waiting for food or a sip of water. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/p...lic-church-in-gaza-renews-call-for-ceasefire/
Has anyone seen this before? I saw this last year and his mother spoke at one of our diocese churches a few years ago when they were dedicating the youth summer camp to him. She didn’t speak of prophecy but I love the idea that their family comes from a saint lineage
If the many prophecies of Islam invading Europe (including the one by Pope John Paul below) materialize the Muslim hordes may well bear in mind the way the west, particularly the US, the UK and Israel provided the weapons and the political support for the genocides in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank , Lebanon and now the war against Iran. Will they treat our women and children better than Israel, with our full support is treating women and children in Gaza? I think American Christian Zionists are particularly to blame because they know Christ. 11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. Isaiah 13
American Christian Zionists bear much of the blame but I think that Europe, once regarded as Christendom, tops the league of the dishonourable. When our chastisement comes, it won't be pretty and we will have brought it on ourselves. Sin is at the root. We need to remember that not all sins are actions. The parable of the Good Samaritan shows us that sins of omission can be grievous. Failure to love our neighbour as ourselves and to do unto others as we would have them do unto us strikes at the very core of the Gospel message as summarised by Jesus. As Padraig likes to remind us, in the end we will be judged on love. Or lack of it. I've heard that the Israelis plan to build a tunnel for the remaining Palestinians to travel between Gaza and Jerusalem (they'll still want servants when this is over). The Palestinians won't be permitted to travel above ground. That reminded me of something I was told in Co. Wicklow years ago. During the British ascendancy here, Lady Wicklow (I think they meant the Countess of Wicklow) didn't like the field workers looking at her, or didn't want to see their faces when she passed by in her carriage. When her carriage approached they had to kneel down with their backs to her. By our weak opposition to this genocide, we have become by association the evil that once stalked our own land. I'm deeply ashamed. May God forgive us.
I have met Marty in a Martins grocery store in Western Maryland. They say he will work alongside employees to detect spills. !!!
My children have almost no internet or any kind of screens in their lives, as I want them to have as close to a childhood the way God designed it as they can...But what a shock the robotic, AI, transhuman world will be in only a decade. I pray God will help us...that the world will finally put a break on this insanity. How can we go on like this?
Ugh. We have Marty on patrol at Stop & Shop stores in MA. Marty is watching for more than just spills.
