    Please pray for my cousin Michael Rice who found out yesterday he has stage four lung cancer and will be dead by Christmas. He is 61 and a lovely quiet man. He never smoked but the Doctors said he picked up TB from immigrants in London.

    In Reading all these petitions and trials, it is comforting to read todays reading from morning prayer:

    Romans 8:35,37
    Nothing can come between us and the love of Christ, even if we are troubled or worried, or being persecuted, or lacking food or clothes, or being threatened or even attacked. These are the trials through which we triumph, by the power of him who loved us.
    Short Responsory
    I will praise the Lord at all times.

    Thanks for prayers - they helped me so much. My wife came home today. With all the tragedies in world right now, this is small but We are hoping the two of us will be well enough to travel to Ireland in 2 weeks for our daughters sacramental marriage in the Church.

    I just had my Aunt Nancy die suddenly of a heart attack. She has been away from the church for decades. Please pray for mercy for her soul. Thank you.

    The American Protestant pastor John MacArthur passed away yesterday due to a lung disease. Although he was sincere in his beliefs, he often criticized a straw man version of the Roman Catholic Church that he held in his mind. Unfortunately, the disastrous pontificate of Pope Francis only reinforced that perception. Prayers that he may now encounter the grace that Protestantism, by its nature, cannot fully provide.
