About ten years ago, when I was leaving home to move to the capital city for university, my father—who is also a war veteran and the one who took me to Mass and taught me about faith (not my mother, which is usually the case)—came into my room, sat on the bed, and I expected him to say something about football or sports since we love talking about that… or maybe to tell me to keep my grades as high as they were in high school. But it has always survived because of Christian faith. It is Christianity that preserved our identity, protected us from the Turks, the Venetians, and other invaders. We died for our faith, for God, and for our country for centuries. But the history of the Croatian people is not much different from that of the Irish, Italians, Germans, Americans, and many others. All of these nations have a deep and strong connection to Christianity and love for their homeland. I like to say that communism, Yugoslavia, and war were a heavy cross for us, with so many killed, tortured, and exiled—but it was also a sweet cross. It preserved our faith, kept our eyes open, and reminded us that it’s better to lose your life than your soul. The West, unfortunately, has lulled itself into a false sense of security—into hedonism, materialism, and the worship of time and money, which has clouded minds, broken ties with the past, and disconnected from Christianity, leaving man to believe he no longer needs God. But Eastern Europe, because of the burden of that communist cross (which in a way became sweet), now clings strongly to patriotism and Christian faith. And the greatest threat today is globalism and the European Union, with its satanic agenda attacking family, faith, and homeland. Croatia, Hungary, and Poland cannot survive on their own. We will fall one after another like dominoes, and evil is actively working to make that happen. We need a Christian Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal... we need a strong Christian Europe and morally upright people who honor God, love their country, and respect others. Either we all survive together, or we all fall together. There is no other way! To end, I’d like to say that the concert began : "Praised be Jesus and Mary, my dear people. Above all, I want to express my deep gratitude to you for coming here in such great numbers. With this concert, we will now show a great sense of unity, because you have come from all over—not only from Croatian regions, but from other European countries as well. Countries that, like us Croats, cherish unity and love for the homeland. I do believe he is genuine and also so gentle. If God can bring Zachary to the faith through His Mother, nothing is impossible.

Both his parents had previous marriages which ended in divorce. His father is an Evangelical preacher who says he left the Catholic Church in 1975 when Ted was five years old. I would advise you, however, to be cautious because I've heard comments here from young people blaming the older generation for their ills. The great reset is coming. AI will do away with many, many jobs. (I suspect that's the thinking behind "you will own nothing and be happy" and the discussions around introducing a universal basic income). Most likely, paper currency will be replaced by digital along with digital id incorporating the same type of social credit system we hear about in China. With no money to take care of the elderly in an ageing population, euthanasia is likely to be the solution suggested by the powers that be. Far easier to sell that kind of policy in a society with inter-generational animosity. The powers that managed to convince previous generations that children were a burden rather than a blessing will concentrate on convincing the young that the elderly are a burden and the merciful solution is to help them pass on. We can't change the past but we can learn from it and try our best not to repeat mistakes.
Fr. Ripperger, in his talks on generational spirits lays most of the blame on the WW2 'Greatest Generation'. According to him they did nothing to protect cultural values or their children, the boomers, from the onslaught of 'Sex, drugs and rock&roll', feminism, etc... Father Ripperger does not agree that they were the greatest. I remember listening to those talks on Sensus Fidelium on YouTube and being really surprised at his assessment. He says the problems we're seeing now are the culmination of problems with the previous 6 generations. Gen Z he says is the 7th generation and is the Satanic generation I believe the boomer resentment attitude is another manufactured division with some truth sprinkled in. I'm amazed at how easily people continue to fall for this propaganda. It only feeds their dark desires to blame others, to be angry and to be envious. Perfect for those promoting communism.

Years ago I did come across Turks who believed that any land which had ever been held by Muslims would always be Islamic land but this idea of uniting Turic people is new to me. This was suggested as an explanation for the alliance between Turkey, Azerbaijan and Israel in the recent Israel/Iran spat. Apparently, Azerbaijan is part owner of oil refineries in Ukraine and Israel which were the targets of missile strikes by Russia and Iran. The generation after Gen Z is Generation Alpha. My kids are in this new generation. With the canonization of Carlo Acutis is supposed to be the beginning of a time of great young saints rising up. Interesting that these little ones are Generation Alpha....a new era... Today I took my 2 year old and 5 year old sons outside after Mass. They wanted to go see Mary (the statue in a little grotto). Running up to her, they climbed inside the grotto and stood on either side of her, facing me. The 2 year old had his hand on her cloak. The 5 year old called out, "Mommy, look at us! We are Mary's soldiers! We always stay at her side. We're her servants!" It made me tear up, as it immediately made me think of the army of Marian saints predicted by St. Louis de Montfort to rise up in the End Times. The giants of the Faith may look right now like two little curly blond boys standing guard with Mary. I see the turn of the tide.
