Oh sigh. Vinny started drinking again. His mother called the police on him, he grabbed her and shoved her down on the floor. Please pray for him and his father and the other sons too, none of them work except one son and he and his mom are trying to get extra work to pay for the others who don't lift a finger to help out. My son lost his job and is trying to get work starting his own business. Thank you again for all your prayers! I remember all your prayer requests and pray for all of you. May God bless you all!
Keeping you and them in prayer. This is an unusually wild Lent for so many.. Found this quickly: https://catholicinrecovery.com/patrons-and-saints-to-pray-to-for-addiction-recovery/ Many prayers for different addictions. Praying..
Thank you for your prayers and the link sparrow I do pray to Matt Talbot and you reminded me of Saint Mark Ji Tianxiang, I could not think of his name - the saint who could not give up his addiction and so prayed for martyrdom and was granted his prayer.Continued prayers for your son.
Sam, I’m praying. We are powerless over people, places, and things. But there is One who has all power. No matter how chaotic things get, God is always present.
Strange. I was at Mass yesterday in the church where they have Matt Talbot's picture. I don't sit on that side of the church but something drew my attention and Vinny popped into my head so I said a quick prayer for him. Then today I saw this thread near the top of the list. Will say another prayer for Vinny now, and one for his mother.
I will remember Vinny and all that family. I think a lot of addictions pass down through family tree. It was a big problem in my mother's side of the family.
Agree. The deliverance prayer sessions from Msgr Rossetti help with that. It was on both sides of my family.
A chap I knew was an alcoholic for most of his adult life. He lost his wife, kids, and home. I got chatting to him in his later years about his drinking. He had been to all sorts of self help people and groups over the years and he said the one question he would have liked to have been asked by anybody but never was, was why did he drink. He had found the answer when it was too late.
On both sides of my family also... that is the reason I love doing Msgr Rosetti's sessions. Sam, I just got done my prayers with a Matt talbot group I am in...prayed for Vinny and all.
I'm going to sister Clare's mass tomorrow evening. I'll offer it for Vinny.. she just might be able to help
