Now I read that they don't use sea water to put out fires because of the environmental impact ??? I personally can't believe that someone is so stupid, pardon the expression. This is more vile, evil and deliberate. Here in Croatia, we have about 5 canards and 6 air tractors and one helicopter on the coast, which is quite large. All water, and all of it, is taken from the sea. The canister fills about 6200 liters of water in a few seconds and drains it in a few seconds. And it's not just us who use it, but everyone from Greece, France, Spain to Italy and Turkey. All Mediterranean countries use sea water because it is easily available, the water fills quickly and is dumped even faster. No one has a problem with plant growth and the environment. A fire cistern with a capacity of 10,000 liters needs about 5 to 10 minutes to empty everything, it doesn't go out of the air, and how long does it take for the water to fill up and to get to the scene of the fire. Well, we are not crazy to throw drinking water on burnt earth. Lack of salt ie. iodine causes retardation. The people making the decisions about these matters in California are either themselves certifiably insane or, more likely, exploiting the certifiable insanity of many of the citizens of the state for their own advantage. The decision-makers are certainly extremely well remunerated and don't seem to be over-burdened with their work. For many of them, the only qualification required of them seems to be 'difference'. In the biggest LA fire, in some canyon, some of the authorities attempted to cut back some of the brush in 2019, but were stopped and fined because someone reported they were damaging some rare shrubs, which are seemingly an endangered species. Apart from the trees and homes that have been burned to ashes, it looks very likely that this endangered shrub could now be extinct. There are certainly none left in the canyon. Additionally, California possesses no doubt state-of-the-art electric fire engines...which require 1-10 hours to be recharged. Apparently, in a previous fire one of these electric fire engines was itself burned out on account of a water-leak. It probably couldn't happen this time because of the unavailability of water. It would all be comedy gold, if it wasn't so tragic.

If Russia decides to invade, on foot of NATO breaking their word and rolling back on any agreement with Russia made by Trump (and Russia has been there before and will be ready for it), European countries will be sitting ducks. An upside might be that their lunacy might discourage people from immigrating from warm countries to ones with icy winters and no means of heating themselves.
