Goodness me, that quite proves the point.

Verse 18 of Isaiah is particularly interesting. It speaks of 'scarlet', 'red...crimson' sins becoming 'white as snow', 'like wool'.

When the Jews had their sacrifices, apparently there used to be red, cloth tapers that turned white when the sacrifice was complete. According to their own Talmud, this no longer happened after 30 AD and did not ever happen again until the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD.

While researching the above just now, I read a Jewish argument against this phenomenon, but the writer did not deny it happened, but instead blamed the failure of the change in colour on the wickedness of those Jews who became apostates from Judaism and followed Christ!

This reminds me of the book of Blessed Catherine Emmerich on the Life of Our Blessed Lady. According to this there was a kind of true and false type of Jewish faith (just as we have a true and false Church side by side today). The true Jews would have been the Essenes, the poor and despised, mystical, people of deep prayer, people of the heart. They loved the deserts and hiddeness. As opposed to them there were the leaders the intellectual elites, the priests, Pharisees the people of the rule book the kind of people of the head. Same situation today of course with the Vatican.

Two other good types Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers. Also St Joseph who was driven from home by his own brothers.

Our Blessed Lady of course came from the Essene or Faithful Remnant tradition as of course did the Prophets.

The Essenes would have been the direct spiritual forebears of for instance the Carmelites; but of all true Catholics.

I thought it stopped after Jesus was crucified on the Cross, but you may well be correct as the reference is from the Talmud. Then again - they would hardly mention the Cross.

Very shock and awe-inducing too that the veil of the Temple was rent in two from top to bottom. In other words this shredding was not from human means (i.e., from bottom to top) but purely from Divine action.

Even now there is disagreement about the exact dates of the birth of Our Lord. Calenders have also been changed. The dates of the Talmud might well be confused, but I have no doubt that the Temple sacrifices lost their efficacy the very moment Christ died on The Cross. Nor that Jerusalem was sacked forty years later, given the huge spiritual significance of the number 'forty'. The errors in dating are merely human failings, confusing Reality.

Excellent point about the direction of tearing of the Temple veil. There is so much reportage, as Malcolm Muggeridge described it, in the Gospels. A literary device that wasn't replicated afterwards for about eighteen centuries. Another instance is the description of the tomb cloths, Shroud and Veil, as pointed out by German writer, Paul Badde.

I am glad you agree and have given a convincing rationale for that belief!
Good point, that completely escaped me.
Wow! The Holy Spirit is clearly the source of all that is good in human endeavour, literary, artistic and otherwise, and delights in using human subjects in ways which are untimely and unbeknownst to themselves - for God's designs.

This is an odd photo. It looks as though the Pope is on a plane. ???
Is this photoshopped? Pope Francis is not making eye contact. His expression doesn’t fit. ????
I’m just thinking about it and asking questions.

It's the File photo of Pope Francis meeting Joe Biden at G7 summit in Puglia, Italy.

    https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/...pe-francis-presidential-medal-of-freedom.html

The announcement was made during a telephone call between the two leaders on January 11. The meeting, initially scheduled as an in-person audience at the Vatican on January 10, was cancelled due to the wildfire emergency in Los Angeles, which prevented Biden from traveling to Italy.

    A new conversation
The phone call marked the second dialogue between Biden and Pope Francis, following a prior exchange on December 20. That earlier conversation focused on human rights, particularly the Pope’s concerns about federal death row inmates. Subsequently, Biden commuted the death sentences of 37 individuals, demonstrating a shared commitment to justice and compassion...

    Biden’s Tribute
The award was presented to the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Christophe Pierre, on Pope Francis’ behalf. A photo shared by Biden’s official account on X (@POTUS) shows the moment, accompanied by a heartfelt message:

“Pope Francis, your humility and your grace are beyond words, and your love for all is unparalleled. As the People’s Pope, you are a light of faith, hope, and love that shines brightly across the world. Today, it was my honor to award His Holiness Pope Francis the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction.”

    A historical precedent
This marks the second time a Pope has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. On June 4, 2004, President George W. Bush presented the award to Pope John Paul II during a Vatican visit, recognizing his tireless advocacy for peace and human dignity.

The opinion about the reportage being so ahead of its time is that of Malcolm Muggeridge, who was a man to be reckoned with. If I remember correctly, C. S. Lewis shared the opinion and he was the greatest literary critic of his century (at the very least).

"...the People's Pope'". Such a very Marxist term to use.

From the man who supplies the bombs for the Jewish genocide of the Palestinians.

Expect Biden to be on the hot-line to canonisation!

No pope should accept such quintessentially worldly honours, same applies to JPII.

How does such an award, for example, facilitate the conversion of the Mohammedans? Not that Pope Francis has the remotest interest in such a thing, but Pope John Paul II ought to have known better (assuming he accepted it).

In 1994, Stewart and Lynda Resnick( was born in 1936 and raised in a Jewish middle class family in New Jersey and later moved to California with his family in the 1950s.), a billionaire couple, gained control over a significant portion of California’s water resources through a series of secretive meetings. This maneuver allowed them to build a business empire – and at times, sell water back to the public, a resource largely funded by taxpayers. Now, that privatization of an essential human right has come back to haunt California in the form of shining a spotlight on it via the deadly wildfires that have swept part of the state.

The Resnicks’ dominance in California’s water supply traces back to the acquisition of the Kern Water Bank, one of the state’s largest underground water storage facilities. Originally developed with public funds, the Kern Water Bank was transferred to private ownership during the 1994 Monterey Agreements, a series of closed-door negotiations involving state officials and major agricultural landowners, including the Resnicks.

What once belonged to the state was transferred to a few private water contractors. One of which was Westside Mutual, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wonderful Foods. The Wonderful employee who runs Westside, Bill Phillimore, is the chairman of the ‘public’ organization that manages the Kern Water Bank.

Boom. One secret meeting and the Resnicks owned nearly 60% of an important California water resource, built with hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money.

It's funny how one "ethnic group" always controls all the resources, money and power, which always causes the local population to suffer for their benefit.

It appears to me that there was no respectful protocol in place here. I mean, a person should not go up to a Pontiff and lean down at him. Agree with you.
