Sick and tired of being sick and tired....take care of yourself and get some physical recovery....eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, get the best rest you can under the circumstances, get some fresh air and exercise if you can. Take care of yourself.
Yes. I agree. Good simple foods and rest if possible. A walk in the fresh air. All good recommendations. The thing you need to know Sparrow is it will pass. Tey some binding prayers just in case.
How good, Therese is, sparrow! I glanced through a set of books this afternoon, and lo and behold, a booklet I had forgotten about containing a novena to the Little Flower. I guess she wants to be part of this prayer circle as much as we all! So I started my novena for you right on her schedule!
We are in a 'family' of Parishes, and normally on Wednesdays we have Adoration at 6pm, rosary at 6:30 and Mass at 7. Well today while doing yardwork, my husband fell and damaged both knees, twisted an ankle and possibly fractured his wrist. So we didn't make it tonight. But part of the problem is our kids/grandkids need us so often that we seem to be busier now than ever. Long story but part of the overwhelming issues that we constantly face. I know things could be worse so I must think of Jesus on the Cross. Sometimes though, I still can't cope..
You are doing your best. Of course you can't cope. You've had a lot of stress and difficulties. Jesus of all people understands. You are carrying your cross in spite of all these difficulties. Please be kind to yourself and pull back once in awhile. If you go down who will be there to take care of others. Self care gives you strength to care for others. There is no shame in giving yourself a rest now and then. I hope and pray you can and you will. God bless your generous heart.
I can't begin to explain... it's been going on for so long. But hey, I'm still here. In my heart I know God allows this for reasons I will only understand after. I was in a bad place the other day when I asked for prayers. I'm ok. But as you see, the hits just keep on coming. I don't want to complain, I just need God to give me the strength to persevere in the longsuffering. Thank you all for your prayers, comments and help. You are a blessed bunch.
I am so sorry, Sparrow. It sounds like you are stretched thin. I will be praying for you and your husband. When our family was going through many things, I realized that counselling was extremely helpful. Many Catholics can spiritualize everything and feel talking to someone is a sign of weakness. I have found both working together has been a huge help to me. I found a very good Catholic counsellor and it helped me so much. I won’t put on a public forum, what our family has been through. But it’s was very crushing for awhile. Self care and personal boundaries is a huge part in dealing with heavy crosses. In the long run, it helps you be happier and healthier for others in your life. My family knows once a month is mom’s self care night. Where I go alone with the Lord and let Him love me and heal me….Away from all problems and distractions. That might not be possible in your situation right now, but you might be surprised with how little things can be incorporated into your life to make the crosses easier to carry. Hope this helps in some way.
This is so strange. I have replied to your above post sparrow (the first in many months) and the whole text was minimalised and then deleted. Go figure. I was saying in my original text to you that I understand your plight, as I am going through the same thing, So Keep strong! Spiritual attacks have seemed to increase since my mothers death on the 17 September in so many ways it would be laughable if it wasn't so serious . Many of the demons you named above are part of the attack that I am experiencing but the Lord has given me many lights and I suspect He has given them to you too. Hold on to these. They are our life savers! I am hopeful I can post more often on the MoG site in the future. God Bless everyone here and I continue to pray daily for the holy intentions of the MoG site forum members. My Love and prayers. Carolyn
Bill and I have been participating in Monsignor Rosetti's online deliverance sessions. Indeed, the spiritual warfare is crazy right now. Good to see you posting again : ) Thanks
The crucible, yes. My daughter sent this this morning.. Contemplate My Wounds Meditation: In the evening, I saw the Lord Jesus upon the cross. From His hands, feet, and side the Most Sacred Blood was flowing. After some time, Jesus said to me, All this is for the salvation of souls. Consider well, My daughter, what you are doing for their salvation. I answered, “Jesus, when I look at Your suffering, I see that I am doing next to nothing for the salvation of souls.” And the Lord said to me, Know, My daughter, that your silent day-to-day martyrdom in complete submission to My will ushers many souls into heaven. And when it seems to you that your suffering exceeds your strength, contemplate My wounds, and you will rise above human scorn and judgment. Meditation on My Passion will help you rise above all things (Diary, 1184). My Prayer Response: Inspire me, Lord Jesus, to consider what I can do for the salvation of souls. Teach me to contemplate the wounds of Your Passion and rise above human scorn and judgment. From St Faustina's Diary
This is so true! This is what is missing from my life as well. I feel as if I need to be there for my family 24/7 and tend to see self-care as one of those modern mantras but how beautifully you've shown that it means time alone with God. Thank you so much for this, Carmelite.
