Dictionary definition of peace , "a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended".

Strange period of peace when there was no peace! In fact there were more wars after the collapse of communism than before it.

And certainly there was no peace for the unborn in the womb

The outcomes of prophecies aren't contingent on our definitions and expectations. Our Lady did not say it would be an "era of perfect peace", but only a "period of peace". The jews were looking for a physical warrior king when Christ came and received something different. Like those waiting for the era of peace, the jews are sill waiting for the Messiah even though he already came. Sr. Lucia said the consecration in '84 was accepted and the period of peace followed. I believe her, especially since she is the one who originally received the messages, and no one else.

We respect those who have a contrary viewpoint. We report, you discern. Sister Lucia, during such talks, specifically singled out a Canadian priest, Father Nicholas Gruner, who she said needed to be corrected.

She further stated that the collapse of Communion in Soviet-held territories constituted a “period of peace” predicted during the apparitions if the consecration was accomplished. She said this peace pertained to the greatly lessened tensions between the Soviet Union (or now just “Russia”) and the rest of the world. It was a “period” of time that had been foreseen, she said — not an “era” (as many have interpreted the message).

Most remarkably, in a second meeting exactly a year later — on October 11, 1993 — she reportedly told Cardinal Ricardo Vidal of the Philippines and eight others (including two priests) that “the consecration of 1984 prevented an atomic [nuclear] war that would have occurred in 1985.” She said the Triumph of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart had begun but was (in the words of the interpreter, Carlos Evaristo, above left) an “ongoing process.”

I think it is possible that Russia has converted somewhat given the conversion back to Orthodoxy, but given how their church like ours is infiltrated, it is not complete. And you are right, those who believe the conversion is complete are still waiting, just like those who believe the consecration was never accepted.

  4. I take nothing to heart of what Sister Lucia said in the 90's. She did such a 180^ turnaround from the true message that she gave before, that I honestly can put no stock in it.
The period or time of peace that I see as short, is to come....my opinion only.

    1. Did Sr. Lúcia ever really say that "the consecration was accepted"? Maybe She said exactly that, but I would like to have access to documentary evidence in direct speech, not retold by others.

    2. If she said that, was it because she heard it from Our Lady or because she personaly interpreted the events in light of what she had received from Our Lady several decades earlier?

    3. Accepting that the previous premises are valid and we can conclude that the blessed Sr. Lúcia declared indeed that she received confirmation from Heaven that the 1984 consecration was accepted by Heaven, does this mean that we are definitively free from the punishments prophesied in Fátima prior to the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

Imagine that you told me that I have to give you €1000 to solve a problem and I only give you €500 and you took the €500 that I gave you. I would probably always wonder if my problem was definitively solved, considering that I only gave you half of what you told me was necessary to solve the problem. This doubt of mine would be greater as long as I humbly believed that you are never wrong, unlike me.

This is how I feel about this problem!

Points one and two are contingent on belief in the authenticity of what she said. I have no idea if there is documentary evidence you want. As well, it seems to me that Sr. Lucia was basing her interpretation of events from the original apparitions she received. As for point 3, I don't believe we would be free from the chastisements, based on the way the 2nd message is broken up. It reads like there was a window of opportunity where the consecration, reparation and devotions would have stopped the spread of the errors of Russia. Based on the fact that the errors of Russia have spread through the world, we clearly missed the window of opportunity.

The 4 final promises/prophecies were going to happen either way however. So the "peace" mentioned earlier would have only been temporary regardless. I think certain things could have been avoided, but regardless we were headed into the final times. Which is why "end" in "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will Triumph" is followed by a comma.

    It would be like this.

    In the end,
    1. My Immaculate Heart will Triumph
    2. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me
    3. Russia shall be converted
    4. A period of peace will be granted to the world.

Everything falls under the umbrella of the end, referring to the end times. Certain things could have been avoided, listed here. "She will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated". But the rest would have happened anyway.

On a side note, I am not sure how many have thought about this yet, because I haven't seen it mentioned, but seven years from the September 27, 2017 revelation sky sign is this year, September 27, 2024.

Blessed Carlo Acutis will likely be proclaimed a Saint during the 2025 Jubilee, possibly along with other canonizations.

The names of these 14 new Saints will be inscribed in the List of Saints on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

    https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/...dinals-carlo-acutis-martyrs-canonization.html

Daniel 9:24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

Everyone knows the prophecy of Carlos Acutis' mother that "all prophecy will be fulfilled once he is canonized". But also in Daniel 9, it states that the "all prophecy will be sealed" when the 70 weeks of 7 years are completed. How interesting that both seem to be happening so close together.

I am making a simple point.

There was not nor has there been a period of peace.

Unless you change the dictionary definition of the word peace. Words have meaning and peace means the 'absence of war' and as I have shown there were many wars in the world after the consecration.

Sister Lucia must have been mistaken - perhaps she meant a 'thaw' in the Cold War, or a 'rapprochement' between opposing sides. Perhaps there was an error in translation with regard to the word peace?

I do believe the consecration sent blessings to the world but not peace.

Sr. Lucia said it was the period of lessened tensions between the Soviet Union and the rest of the world. One definition of peace, according to the dictionary is

"The absence of war or other hostilities."
"An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities."
"Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations."
    https://duckduckgo.com/?q=peace+definition+dictionary&ia=web

According to the above, there was the absence of the cold war as the Soviet Union collapsed. Communism collapsed as well. There were treaty agreements signed such as START, west and east Germany reunited.

In the book 'Sister Lucia in her own words' she states 'a period of peace will be granted to the world'.

    The whole world.

    This had not happened.

I am not fond of semantics. Your interpretation remains your interpretation.

It is so clear to me that I am not willing to engage in word play. I believe that words have true and precise definitions and everyone knows what peace means.

    Over an out.

So, so difficult to view that tabulator!:cry::mad::cry:

Earlier this week a graveside service was done for one of our parishioners who did not return after covid because of health issues (she was 84). Sadly, the family did not pursue a funeral Mass (increasingly common:cry:).

Unfortunately, Tim's family has chosen the same route. Geralyn and I will drive the 2.5 hours to be there tomorrow at graveside, as well as my cousin, Barb Giffels (still going strong at 84: she was downhill skiing four years ago!) I selected photos from family albums going back 70 years and put together a memory board to display at the reception-to-follow. Today I'm a basket case; the tears come and go.

Keep Tim in your prayers please as well as his two sons, Conor and Colin. I must admit that Conor has stepped up to the plate- traveling to Batavia to visit Tim on a regular basis. Tim's separated wife, Maryanne, remains a faithful Catholic. It will be good to see her.

It's not my definition, it's the first one I pulled up. It's also not my interpretation it is that of Sr. Lucia, the actual visionary.

"She said this peace pertained to the greatly lessened tensions between the Soviet Union (or now just “Russia”) and the rest of the world."

I never thought much about this chronological question about whether it will be a short time or whether it will be a new era, but more about the issue of peace. And in this sense, I have always believed that a final consecration of Russia and its subsequent and immediate conversion should take place during a context of large-scale war and despair of nations, that is, to put an end to the physical punishments prophesied in Fatima. It's my speculative interpretation, but I admit I could be wrong.

I will be praying during your difficult days ahead. When my younger brother was near death, he refused a visit from a priest but was willing to have a Protestant pastor visit. All of my seven siblings have left the Church, which I’m sure broke our mother’s heart.

I remember Our Lord telling Anne Catherine Emmerich that He will ensure that there is at least one true, faithful Catholic in every generation of a family line. Maybe it is a gift of grace and mercy for the holy souls in purgatory who would have no one to pray for them.

    Rest in God’s peace, Tim.

But I am much more inclined towards the idea of a new era of peace and rebirth of the Church, in part due to Malachi Martin's approach.

Art Bell: How much weight do you give to the Fatima revelations?

Malachi Martin: I consider Fatima to be the key event in the declining fortune of the Roman Catholic organization for the near future of the Church in the third millennium, the defining event... [...]

According to Malachi Martin, the prophecies of Fatima concern the end of an era for the Roman Catholic Church and the beginning of another, therefore, the institutional destruction of the Church and the Papacy and their rebirth, with Russia playing a fundamental role in this process, first on the destruction and then on the rebirth.

Considering that war and peace are not the core of the message of Fatima, but only part of the context, it seems natural to me that the time of peace corresponds to the post-triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary era.

I think the new era will come too, which is the new heaven and earth mentioned in Revelation 21:1. Basically we had the period of peace which was temporary, but we finish with a new heaven and earth. Many seers associate the new heaven and earth with the era of peace. This is why SJPII said we are going to enter a new world. I think the 100 years that God gave satan was the loosening in Revelation 20:7-10 which we have been experiencing. I don't know if this makes sense but I can go more in depth.

Essentially I believe everything is wrapping up very soon. By everything I mean all prophecy in the Bible.

Your sentence says it all! But what makes this issue truly fascinating is the synchronic precision between the historical events of the Catholic Church at both ends of Europe, Saint Petersburg or Petrograd, the capital city of Russia at the time, and Fátima, a remote Portuguese village in the far west of Europe.

Pay attention to the information after the minute 50:20 in the same video:

"[...] The Russian Greek Catholic Church was formally established at a synod which gathered in Saint Petersburg in May of 1917. [...]"

Precisely in the same year and month that the first apparition of Our Lady of Fatima took place?
This cannot be a mere coincidence by any means. No way.
