One of the reasons I love Mary as a man is that she is so very, very gentle and at the same time immensely strong and powerful. I fond this very,very attractive . In my own life I tend to loose my temper and kind of bluster, Mary shows me a way of doing things that does not involve hitting folks over the head with a four by four. Mary still gets the job done but in a way that makes folks feel they have just been hit by a four by four. I have been having some trouble in work at the moment. There is a guy there who just will not work. My boss told me the other day she does not think him capable of working. She says he is protected , 'At a high level' from any reprecussions from this. I am being used constantly to do his work for his as, as part of my spirituality and as a penance I work very hard. I am also being used to do the hardest work and the work left undone by others. I suppose, naturally enough this has left me bad tempered irritable and even sleepless. However I knew this was unsustainable and I must act. So I have been praying. What I have come to realise is that I can use my labour creatively , through flexi time to alter my hours at work so that I can come into work and leave in such a way , creatively, as to make it very,very difficult for them to misuse me in such a way. ( I may also encourage other workers to do this too). This directly addresses the problem whilst not involving me in confrontation and high blood pressure. It forces them to address the problem whilst I address it myself with no shouting or foul looks. I think this is a very Marian strategy gentle but still requiring strength and dare I say it the use of brain power rather than muscle power. It gets the job done but in a kind kinda way. Although, I would recommend a 2x4... Unless you plan on running someone over, a 4x4 could prove a bit unwieldy!
