Over the past 4 or 5 months I have been getting signals/intuitions on ‘silence’ and the ‘the silence in heaven for half hour’ mentioned in Revelation. Anyone else sensing this? I’m trying to understand what it means. thanks for any insights from the forum!
Same here. In fact that passage you mentioned has been in my thoughts for quite a few days.....and even more so after what happened "over there".....I have no great insight as to why, except to say that maybe we are being asked to "listen" more attentively.... "Silence is not an absence. On the contrary, it is the manifestation of a presence, the most intense of all presences. In modern society, silence has come into disrepute; this is the symptom of a serious, worrisome illness. The real questions of life are posed in silence. Our blood flows through our veins without making any noise, and we can hear our heartbeats only in silence." Cardinal Sarah
My heart is breaking to hear this. This evil is from hell. How can Israel justify this? God have mercy on these poor people.
Yes. It certainly is a grave sin to impose these deprivations on these poor people let alone the violence and murder being perpetrated.
Well said Mark, God Bless. I've taken the liberty to repost your post below, with a very important sentence of yours highlighted. Mark said.... In the last episode of “My Time Posting on MOG”, I exited in an admittedly blaze of ridiculousness, citing the countless posts and subsequent ways in which the world was going to potentially implode in all of our faces. Given I’m already riddled with anxiety up to my eyeballs, I decided that this site, save for Glenn’s posts on Garabandal, wasn’t suited for me. Throughout many months, once in a blue moon I would still peek back in, looking for what I came here for to begin with. Encouragement. You see, I left a site on Medjugorje long ago because a simple opinion post on pets led to attacks from all sides. So, once in a blue moon I’d see a series of posts here, where one person or another was , in my opinion, unfairly treated, and I would contact them privately to offer a little empathy and encouragement. Along comes today, and I sought out signs of hope on this site. My anxiety is through the roof, past the clouds, and through the stratosphere. It’s so far out there I see satellites. But what I found under the heading “ signs” reminded me all too much of my experience on that Medjugorje site from long ago. So. Without intending to lecture anyone, and hating that Im letting myself get drawn into this, here’s my promissory note of 2 cents ( I literally do not have two actual cents to my name). For me, I have a very simple view of the world. The middle east is a pretty rough place and it surrounds a lone democracy ( of some sort). Im not getting into the nitty gritty of any of it. Anytime there isn’t violence, violence is threatened. Then you have people commenting on all of it. Everyone has their sources and facts. Some are true, all are true, or none are true. For me, and Im sure many others, knowing who’s set of facts are entirely true and reliable is almost impossible, given the nature of today’s media. So along comes one poster here, giving her opinion. Then multiple others counter her opinion. In reading through, it certainly seems apparent that almost all if not all parties involved are “for” good, “against” evil, believe in Jesus and just want good and peace to prevail. But ( and it’s a big but), the issue that turned me off like a light switch getting slapped off with a baseball bat is the tone of the posts, many of which were in subtle or overt condemnation of the one poster . So who’s set of facts are correct? Even if you sincerely believe a person has their facts wrong you simply give your own opinion and leave it at that. Some of what I see on the recent two pages are one of the million reasons I left Facebook long ago. So, from now on I must limit myself entirely and solely to peeking in on “Garabandal Info and Answers” and Glenn’s posts, and I will link up to that page directly to avoid even inadvertently seeing other posts . I must refrain from looking at any other posts, responses or private messages. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming. If I sound like Im lecturing, Im just a schmuck trying to get through this life like everyone else.
It's happened to me countless times. These are sensitive issues right now. People's hearts are in their throats....but people keep on pushing THEIR view. So we say a prayer....
"Israel has systematically been blocking the entry of anesthetics into Gaza. Why is that? To inflict the greatest pain possible on the many civilians who need surgeries, including women and children... If this is not an evil comparable to the evils of the nazi regime I don't know what evil is." Any person, certainly any Catholic, would completely and emphatically denounce this if it is true. But: How do we know something is true, when each side's claims conflict? How can we know what's true in a propaganda war? The answer is we can't know with certainty what's true. We can, however, look at claims and judge their plausibility. The post above claims Israeli deliberately and with malice blocked delivery of anesthetics to inflict pain, just like Nazis would. It implies the author knows for certain the Israeli intentions. What evidence supports the allegation of malice, of Nazi-like behavior? That's a big charge that shouldn't be made by assuming something, but with clear and convincing evidence. Since calling Israelis "Nazis" has particular, distressing resonance, posters ought to be really certain of their claims before posting them online. Note: If Israel did deliberately block aid to maximize pain, it would contradict a longtime policy of allowing Gaza and West Bank residents to come to Israel for medical treatment they could not obtain at home. Israeli hospitals are among the best in the region, fully modern and well-equipped. Gazans often receive free care from Israel. In fact, news stories on Oct. 7 victims noted the terrorists killed several long-time elderly volunteers, who drove Gaza patients back and forth to hospitals and acted as helpers during stays. The post above cites -- but does not link to-- a CNN report, which alledgedly includes documentation from those in the "humanitarian operation." Who are they? Are they trustworthy? We don't know, but more, importantly, I suspect the poster don't know. The post asks readers to take CNN's reporting on faith. The post also implicitly claims Israel has a duty to provide medicines and machinery to hospitals in a war zone during combat. Israelis do have a legal duty to provide medical care to prisoners, but are not required to halt operations in the midst of hostilities to provide aid to civilian institutions on the opposing side. (Geneva convention.) I don't think the Catholic "Just War" doctrine goes that far, either. What the post don't address, but should, is the responsibility of HAMAS. This was a war of choice, not necessity: Hamas leaders had infinite time to plan, to preposition supplies, to game out possible outcomes. Hamas leaders used billions in foreign aid, channeled through the UN, to build a massive, highly sophisticated tunnel system underneath hospitals, with supplies for terrorists, including weapons, food, water, electricity, medicines and medical supplies, living spaces (cots and bathrooms) plus holding cells. They made no attempt to stockpile extra hospital supplies for civilians who, without a doubt, would become casualties of the war they planned. It's plausible to argue that Hamas leaders anticipated, even desired, civilian casualties because they wanted to whip up the passion of the Arab Street and take in more recruits and more money. That explanation fits the fact that there were no stockpiles as well as any other explanation. It can't be ruled out on its face. The post also links to a Reuters story from Gaza about conditions in the Al Ahli Arab Hospital. Many people were injured there when a blast went off just outside. Conditions inside were horrific, just what you would expect in a place that didn't have enough room or supplies to treat victims. The story tugs at heart-strings. It's awful. Hamas blamed Israel for the blast. Israel blamed Hamas, BUT Israel also produced detailed photos and technical analysis of the pattern of blast damage to surrounding buildings, the size of the crater, etc. Analysis showed a rocket launch, adjacent to the hospital, that blew up at liftoff. US officials publicly backed Israel's analysis. Now, Israel isn't stupid enough to lie about something as simple and obvious as blast damage patterns and what they mean. If they tried, there would be hundreds or thousands of experts (ex-military, crash investigators, demolition specialists) who'd run to Twitter to contradict them. The inept terrorists who launched the rocket took a lot of other people with them--as well as a chunk of the hospital. Hamas lied, people died. This is a tragedy of war. A slight digression... I no longer accept on faith reports that come from CNN, MSNBC, NPR, etc; from United Nations agencies; from White House briefings; or from wires services like AP or Reuters. As an American I've been subjected to years of mainstream news narratives later proven to be doubtful or outright lies. One example: How Trump has been portrayed in the press, and in books by 'experts.' First were the Trump-Russia investigations, featuring salacious allegations ("Golden Showers"); the Steele Dossier; the FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane;" the Mueller report; Jan. 6 protests; two impeachments; the Durham Report; and trials of Jan. 6 protesters (a few didn't even enter the building!). I won't even mention the Covid narrative and everything associated with it. Lies, lies, lies, and cover-ups. So... If I don't trust American news, I mistrust foreign news even more. And there is so much news that's come out of Gaza that raises concerns. For instance: Photos from the Oct. 7 terrorism attack were published around the world. They seemed to show events as they occurred. It took a few days before people asked how did photographers with AP, Reuters, Agence France-Presse, The New York Times, get these historic, highly lucrative shots? What were the photographers doing at the Gaza border early in the morning, or at the site of the music festival attended by young peace activists? One plausible answer: Freelance photographers for mainstream media were embedded with/tipped off by Hamas. https://www.news.com.au/finance/bus...7/news-story/1ac6ecdf1666957a91717619bf2bc2e9 https://nypost.com/2024/02/21/media...phers-embedded-with-hamas-terrorists-lawsuit/ Another instance: Despite rumors, Gaza hospital officials vocally denied any ties to Hamas. However, once Israeli forces arrived at hospitals, they found evidence that countered the denials. The IDF found and released CCTV video that showed hostages being taken into a hospital. One was on a stretcher, the other dragged in by armed men. Hospital staff members helped. In a second video, an IDF general led a tour of a (again, previously denied) tunnel complex underneath the largest hospital in Gaza. A NY Times article on evidence for Hamas at Al-Shifa discusses this. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67469591 https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/17/us/politics/israel-al-shifa-hospital-hamas-evidence.html https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/30/world/middleeast/hostage-israel-hamas-gaza.html One more instance: UN's Gaza staff celebrated Oct. 7; held Israeli hostage There had been many reports and much speculation on the UN's involvement with terrorism in Gaza. When the IDF finally uncovered the tunnel system, it found hard evidence, including recordings. https://unwatch.org/report-u-n-teachers-celebrated-hamas-massacre/ https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-776284 https://www.timesofisrael.com/i-cap...more-unrwa-staffers-bragging-of-oct-7-crimes/ I've included these because I wanted to show problems with just accepting news reports at face value. In the Middle East there are more than two sides to every story. Perhaps posters should do more research, and pray, before posting on this subject online. As Byron said, people who are not forum members may come here to get the "Catholic" point of view.
I am loth to ever get involved in controversial opinions on who is right or wrong. All I have to do is look and see the complete infrastructure of a country destroyed with utter misery for people trying to live their lives. It looks like taking a sledgehammer to a nut. There are no winners in war. I don't think we should be getting bogged down on either side just pray pray pray. The world is in complete turmoil and we in western countries are quickly entering persecution.
I notice that just before a storm breaks there is a kind of looming presence. Also just before the devil attacks at nighttime a kind of dark some brooding silence.
They’re already planning what to do with the valuable Gaza land after the Palestinians have been exterminated or driven out. Despicable. How any Christian can justify this atrocity is beyond me.

Your point about news outlets is well taken. The old saying about "the first casualty of any war is the truth" comes to mind.
@Christy1983 Ok sorry I am going to have to draw a line on all the information which in my opinion to be frank is overkill. I call a spade a spade, so a simple one paragraph reply to my question would be appreciated. question ? what point are you making in all the information that you are supplying
Sure, John. I'll pick one post. I wrote about Blizzard's post because the "wanting to maximize pain" and "Nazi!" is Blizzard's idea of what happened. That was not clear to readers, who saw the post as God's Own Truth. The actual CNN article didn't go that far, although it did seem slightly biased. I looked for alternative views. I've spent years in a profession where I helped people find information and resources. What you see as too much, I see as not enough to explain what might actually be going on. I seem to be the only one willing to offer a different take.
Christy, are you saying that the media misrepresented Trump with the covid narrative? You say lies, lies, lies when he is on video saying that he was the father of the vax, he urged people to get vaccinated, he was the leader when our churches were shut down, our schools closed, and we couldn't leave the house. Looking back on it now, it was so demonic, if Trump had one molecule of humility, he would never try to preside over this country again. Same for Biden.
No. I listed specific parts of the Trump narrative. Then, separately, I mentioned Covid. But thanks for sharing your thoughts.
