The whole "war" thing is a ruse, a pretext for the "man of peace" to step in and solve the problems of "the world" at "the price of apostasy from the truth" (CCC 675). Oh...look, the "man of peace" has been invited to the "peace talks." I guess because "Pope Francis" is such a skilled negotiator, with lots of experience? https://www.ncregister.com/cna/russia-is-willing-to-speak-with-pope-francis-about-the-war-in-ukraine Russia is ‘Willing’ to Speak with Pope Francis About the War in Ukraine It is now eight months since Russia began the invasion of Ukraine, a war that has so far taken the lives of more than 6,000 civilians, including nearly 400 children. (photo: Flickr / Daniel Ibañez/ACI Press/Wikimedia Commons) CNA/ACI PrensaWorldOctober 26, 2022 Russian presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov said his government is willing to talk with Pope Francis, the United States, and France to find a solution to the war in Ukraine. “We are willing to discuss all this (the situation in Ukraine) with the Americans, with the French, and with the pontiff,” Peskov said during a daily telephone news conference Oct. 25. The Russian official was referring to the proposal by French President Emmanuel Macron, who on Monday asked the Roman Pontiff to call Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Joe Biden, and Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill to “promote the peace process” in Ukraine. In a statement to Le Point magazine, Macron said he encouraged “Pope Francis to call Vladimir Putin and Patriarch Kirill, but also Joe Biden. We need the United States to come to the table to promote the peace process in Ukraine.” Peskov said that “if this really goes in the direction of the efforts to search for possible solutions, it can be positively assessed.” It is now eight months since Russia began the invasion of Ukraine, a war that has so far taken the lives of more than 6,000 civilians, including nearly 400 children.
More about the Man of Peace. Make sure you read the lyrics. Bob Dylan is a satanist. Man of Peace WRITTEN BY: BOB DYLAN Look out your window, baby, there’s a scene you’d like to catch The band is playing “Dixie,” a man got his hand outstretched Could be the Führer Could be the local priest You know sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace He got a sweet gift of gab, he got a harmonious tongue He knows every song of love that ever has been sung Good intentions can be evil Both hands can be full of grease You know that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace Well, first he’s in the background, then he’s in the front Both eyes are looking like they’re on a rabbit hunt Nobody can see through him No, not even the Chief of Police You know that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace Well, he catch you when you’re hoping for a glimpse of the sun Catch you when your troubles feel like they weigh a ton He could be standing next to you The person that you’d notice least I hear that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace Well, he can be fascinating, he can be dull He can ride down Niagara Falls in the barrels of your skull I can smell something cooking I can tell there’s going to be a feast You know that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace He’s a great humanitarian, he’s a great philanthropist He knows just where to touch you, honey, and how you like to be kissed He’ll put both his arms around you You can feel the tender touch of the beast You know that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace Well, the howling wolf will howl tonight, the king snake will crawl Trees that’ve stood for a thousand years suddenly will fall Wanna get married? Do it now Tomorrow all activity will cease You know that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace Somewhere Mama’s weeping for her blue-eyed boy She’s holding them little white shoes and that little broken toy And he’s following a star The same one them three men followed from the East I hear that sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace Copyright © 1983 by Special Rider Music

Why haven't I've heard about the collapse of diesel fuel reserves and severe shortages just around the corner. Setting aside the question of cheap gasoline, diesel fuel is a necessity for the trucking industry! Talk about a new issue "coming out of the blue" or have I had my head in the sand? Karmala Harris will be happy because school kids might not have to inhale those nasty diesel fuel fumes!
PNF - Bob Dylan is not a Satanist. He’s a Christian and his lyrics are amazing. Please listen to the entire interview. https://www.quora.com/Did-Bob-Dylan...&share=577d011a&srid=utMgL&target_type=answer
Hi Byron. It is true that Dylan claimed to go through a Christian phase. But after that short period, he embraced Judaism again (https://foreignpolicy.com/2016/10/18/even-as-a-christian-bob-dylan-was-a-jew/): Following his post “motorcycle accident” hiatus from what appeared to be unmanageable fame — I am suspicious that that accident ever actually occurred — Dylan returned with a Bible-soaked recording, “John Wesley Harding.” Only this time, the New Testament loomed every bit as large as the Jewish version. What kind of nice Jewish boy would “dream he saw St. Augustine?” All this was a prelude to a period that most Jewish Dylanists would prefer to forget: Dylan’s embrace of evangelical Christianity. His newfound religiosity was a curiosity on the album “Slow Train Coming,” which most of us had to admit was pretty damn good despite the discomfort it caused. But it quickly became an annoyance at best and an abomination at worst on the awful albums that followed. So, too, Dylan’s concert proselytization. “I told you the times they are a-changin’ and they did,” he told one audience. “I said the answer was blowin’ in the wind and it was. I’m telling you now Jesus is coming back, and He is! And there is no other way of salvation.” It would be hard to overstate the horror that many Jewish Dylan fans and followers felt during this period. (“Buckets of tears” would not do it justice. …) Not only did Dylan appear to be lost musically, but perhaps he had been lost entirely. And more to our point, was our Jewish prophet even Jewish anymore? Well, as so many answers regarding Judaism begin: “It depends.” If Judaism is just a religion, then, well yes, he was lost. But if it was any or all of the other things we think it to be, then perhaps not so much. And Dylan provided clues that all, indeed, was not lost. Why else would he put a song about bad-boy Jew Lenny Bruce on an album of born-again Christian songs? Dylan did on his third born-again record? Fortunately, from a Jewish standpoint, this phase of Dylan’s life was soon replaced by his most Jewish one. Beginning in the late 1980s, he started showing up on the telethons run by the Chabad Hasidic sect [whose philosophy is focused on occultist, gnostic zohar and kabbalah] and was sighted davening at the Western Wall in Jerusalem and visiting rabbinic sages. He considered, we are told, moving to Israel. There are even reports that Dylan filled out an application to join a kibbutz, though I don’t believe them, and, in any case, kibbutzim are notoriously anti-religious. His song “Neighborhood Bully” on “Infidels” provides a more compelling defense of the Jewish state’s more aggressive actions toward its neighbors than Benjamin Netanyahu has ever managed to come up with: “Every empire that’s enslaved him is gone Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon He’s made a garden of paradise in the desert sand In bed with nobody, under no one’s command He’s the neighborhood bully” Finally, we learn that after all these years, not only did Dylan take his son to Israel for his bar mitzvah ceremony, he sent his children to his Zionist camp alma mater, Wisconsin’s Herzl Camp. The nice Jewish boy turned into a good Jewish man, making a few side trips along the way, but, hey, “to live outside the law you must be honest.” That article was written by Eric Alterman, a semi-famous journalism professor from NYC. The magazine Foreign Policy is associated with the Washington Post group. So there is every reason to believe that what Alterman says about Dylan has been vetted for legal reasons by the editors of Foreign Policy. Now, let's look at exactly what he said in the 60 minutes interview: “It goes back to that destiny thing. I mean, I made a bargain with it, you know, long time ago. And I’m holding up my end … to get where I am now,” says Dylan. And with whom did he make the bargain? “With the chief commander,” says Dylan, laughing. “In this earth and in the world we can’t see.” A "destiny thing." Does that sound Christian? He "made a bargain with it." Do we as Christians make a bargain with the Holy Trinity? No. With whom then? The "chief commander"..."in this earth and in the world we can't see." So we have a man who claimed to convert to evangelical Christianity and then apostatize from Christianity and live as a occultist Jew. What "chief commander" is he talking about that requires him to go on singing rock and roll/blues music? Making a bargain means "selling your soul." Who does one sell his soul to for wealth and fame in this world? Satan.
I’m sorry, I don’t see it that way. He made a bargain with himself, and God to work hard and make great music. He is humble enough to say he’s no prophet or savior, just a song and dance guy. Going back to his Jewish roots is not a sin. I’m not saying he’s the perfect Catholic. He’s just a humble musician, who was able to bring a sense of sanity, through his music, at a time, when the world was going mad. It was pure poetry.
Hi Byron. To say that a convert to Christianity (meaning a baptized person) "going back to his Jewish roots is not a sin," is incorrect. It is the very definition of apostasy and a direct violation of the First Commandment according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P7C.HTM): Faith 2087 Our moral life has its source in faith in God who reveals his love to us. St. Paul speaks of the "obedience of faith"9 as our first obligation. He shows that "ignorance of God" is the principle and explanation of all moral deviations.10 Our duty toward God is to believe in him and to bear witness to him. 2088 The first commandment requires us to nourish and protect our faith with prudence and vigilance, and to reject everything that is opposed to it. There are various ways of sinning against faith: Voluntary doubt about the faith disregards or refuses to hold as true what God has revealed and the Church proposes for belief. Involuntary doubt refers to hesitation in believing, difficulty in overcoming objections connected with the faith, or also anxiety aroused by its obscurity. If deliberately cultivated doubt can lead to spiritual blindness. 2089 Incredulity is the neglect of revealed truth or the willful refusal to assent to it. "Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same; apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith; schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him."11 9 Rom 1:5; 16:26. 10 Cf. Rom 1:18-32. 11 CIC, can. 751: emphasis added. Based on the evidence provided by Eric Alterman in that article, either Dylan was lying and was not actually baptized with water (because one cannot just convert intellectually to Christianity). Or he was baptized and renounced his baptism. As Catholics, we cannot be indifferent to these kinds of things. To think that a person publicly can claim to accept the offer of salvation from Jesus and then later to publicly support those who teach that Jesus was a fraud is a terrible sacrilege against the true God. This is not about "song and dance" and whether you like his music. He desperately needs prayers for conversion before he dies.

PNF - please chill. Dylon is just a musician, who wrote interesting lyrics. Accusing him of Satanism is a bit much. PEACE
Hi Byron. You do realize that I said what I said because you incorrectly claimed of Dylan that "he's a Christian." I have demonstrated, from the evidence provided by Eric Alterman, that Dylan IS NOT a Christian. So I will let Jesus speak about that situation (Matthew 6): [24] No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will sustain the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Nemo potest duobus dominis servire : aut enim unum odio habebit, et alterum diliget : aut unum sustinebit, et alterum contemnet. Non potestis Deo servire et mammonae. We must correct offenses against the Truth, especially if they could lead people astray. There are many Catholic fans of Bob Dylan who should reassess their "admiration" for him. I say this in all charity for those souls who might be deceived by him.
He won a Nobel Prize for literature in 2016. His song The Hurricane was brilliant back in the fight for civil rights days.
Don't know so much about Amazon, unless it's problems due to inability to ship its products. Of greater concern to me is how much of our agricultural industry (i.e., farmers) is based around diesel. EVERY tractor and ALL large piece of agricultural equipment run on diesel fuel.
Keep in mind that back in September of 2013, Pope Francis called for a "worldwide day of fasting and prayer for peace there on Sept. 7." Shortly after Sept. 7, there was a breakthrough from some outside source that kept both Syria from using chemical weapons and the US from military intervention, both actions that seemed inevitable just a few days earlier. None of the secular sources I look at mentioned this "day of prayer and fasting" when I was doing a Google search on the subject; you can find info about Pope Francis' call here: POPE CONDEMNS CHEMICAL WEAPONS; INVITES ALL TO DAY OF PRAYER, FASTING FOR PEACE IN SYRIA Given Pope Francis' success in this period of world-wide desperation, Putin might have hopes that His Holiness' intervention may provide a solution, which would probably involve the Pope's travelling to Moscow for face-to-face talks. Talks at a lower level would undoubtedly take place earlier, but a personal meeting between national leaders (aka, "a summit") would probably occur thanks to public pressure. Keep in mind, the papacy is a monarchy, the longest continuously running monarchy in the world. This is why the Vatican held out after the Masons took over Italy: despite all the money offered by Italian governments after the Wars of Unification, the popes refused accepting any money for the papal lands that had been seized. Each such offer required that the Pope surrender any special treatment, and to be considered just a citizen of Italy. Finally, during the time of Mussolini, the Vatican signed the Concordat with the Italian government. In exchange for money (MUCH less than had been offered earlier) to compensate for the Papal lands that had been seized, Italy agreed to recognize the land around the Vatican (as well as certain other properties, such as Castel Gandolfo) as belonging to a new nation, the Vatican City State, with the Pope as its head. (Protestants who claim the Vatican City State was just created out of thin air back in the 1930's have no idea of history or of how monarchies operate. Since none of the popes abdicated their office during the decades where the Pope was "the prisoner of the Vatican", the Papal Monarchy continued to exist during those years, becoming "a government in exile" (to use the legal phrase). Once Vatican City State was created with the Concordat, the Papal Monarchy resumed its rightful place as the head of this new nation. As a point of contrast, the Greek Orthodox Church, being based in Istanbul, has no special rights and its head (His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, head of the Constantinople Patriarchate) is just another citizen of Turkey. There are two Turkish army guards stationed at all times at the entrance to his residence to check the papers of anyone who tries to enter; and if the right government officials have not granted permission the person is turned away. This is what we would see in Rome if any of the previous pontiffs had compromised the position of the Roman Catholic church.) This is why I say any such meeting between Putin and Francis would be a summit -- a meeting between heads of state.
I didn't say anyone was winning. Everyone loses in a war and the suffering of the Ukrainians has certainly not escaped my notice. Putin is losing a great deal. He has demonstrated that his army is a 'paper tiger' (the last thing he ever wanted China to become aware of), he is losing his economic mainstay in oil and gas sales which he cannot replace because he has no pipelines to other possible customer which would take years and billions to construct, he is losing people by the hundreds of thousands in emigrants and deaths etc. etc. Naturally he wants to 'negotiate'. Josyp Terelya claimed that Our Lady told him that Ukraine would be free and that no-one would take that freedom away, I believe him. Freedom is usually bought at a terrible price, I know because some of mine paid it for Ireland and some for England. Why not do a bit of thinking yourself?
