My dad has had a mysterious health issue for a couple years now, where he gets lightheaded and exhausted easily. It has gotten much worse in the last few months, with a strange pain "deep in his stomach" he says. He had a horrible bout of pain a month ago that was unbearable so he went to the ER, where they saw that his appendix was in terrible shape, so they removed it. They found that the appendix had actually been completely dead for a long time! Anyway, we were hoping that would solve his problems, but he's still experiencing pain and lightheadedness, and sometimes gets so nauseous the moment he drinks some alchohol that he immediately throws it back up. He has lost quite a bit of weight since the surgery and looks like he's aged 20 years. He's only 57. The pain "deep in his stomach" gets worse when eating, so when that flares up, he doesn't eat all day. My siblings and I are so worried about him, but he is super resistant to going to the doctor. We can see he is afraid of finding out something is really wrong, like cancer. I ask for your prayers that he will have the courage to go to the doctor and really get to the bottom of what's going on. Please pray that it is something curable. I can't even bear the thought of losing my dad any time soon... Not to mention he is a fallen away Catholic who hasn't been to confession in decades. The other thing is hubby and I are still trying to find our new home while living in this little apartment. We think we've finally decided on a modular home from a very reputable company in the area we want to live. We've picked out a house we can afford (and I absolutely love!) and the company's realtor is beginning a land search for us. We're hoping for 4-10 acres. I'd love prayers that God directs the search and they find good land for us that we can afford, where God thinks we should live. We are in the middle of the Holy Cloak novena to St. Joseph, as he's our patron saint of this whole project. So please ask him for his help as well. Thank you so much! I can't wait for my children to be able to get out and play in the fresh country air every day. They are stir crazy in this tiny apartment!
Prayers to St Raphael and St Joseph. A really good Doctor can not be so easy to find. I had bad pain pain in my shoulder years ago and I recall after seeing my own Doctor who confessed he hadn't a clue and sent me to hospital. In the ER there was a senior very wise lady Doctor who asked me loads of questions and did lots of tests. At the end of it she said I was a , 'Complete mystery to her'. Eventually the pain just went away. I have no idea what caused it. My own Doctor told me one time that a lot of patients who come into see them they have just no idea what is wrong with them. HE reckoned a lot of it is just weird unknown virus's and Bacteria. I suspect Diet and lifestyle. Another Doctor told me that sometimes when people are dying of cancer they simply do not know where the cancer is located and never find out. A mystery. Prayer is the perfect recourse. I love modular and tiny homes. I have been watching utube videos on them for years.

Yes I suspect my dad's ailment has been caused by terrible nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle for many, many years. He's never been super overweight, but he's always had a belly and will order a pizza, eat the entire thing, then eat nothing else all day. It's been his go-to meal for decades. He doesn't eat fruits or veggies except on rare occasions, and for the last several years he's gotten through the day on energy drinks like redbulls. I've always told him he should stay away from those... I drank half a redbull one time when I was in my twenties, and it made me shake! I can't imagine drinking them every day! I think he's stopped recently, but I bet the damage has already been done. He does drink beer A LOT these last couple years. And he smokes that e-cigarette thing. Sigh. He's such a wonderful guy though... He'd give the shirt off his back for anyone and always has a joke and positive advice for everybody. He's helping to support so many people in my family, both financially and by opening up his home to whomever needs a place to stay. He hasn't gone to Mass for many years but he does believe wholeheartedly in God and even the Catholic faith...He's just really, really lazy. I love him so much and hope God will help him get healthier.

I would say 90% of people turning up in hospital are fat, due to self indulgence, many of them very fat. But you daren't tell them that.
Sending prayers up. PF, Could it be bleeding stomach ulcer(s)? I've had them before and it it hurts while eating and just after eating. I had to lay off on certain foods and drink in order for ulcers to heal up. And reducing stress helps, too.
I wonder if he has diverticulitis. Especially if he is not eating veggies that help clean out the gut. We had one co- worker who used to complain about similar issues and even passed out in the locker room. I will keep you and your family in my prayers!
