Liza, God's ways are mysterious. For over 3 years up until the end of last November, I was blessed to serve as chaplain in both a hospital and nursing home setting. I believe it was a good fit and God's will. Since December, I had to set that aside and focus on parish ministry. With my pastor taking a well deserved vacation with family overseas this month, current parish demands on me have intensified and life is very busy. Today was a treat to be at home doing yard work outside, waving to the children as Amish buggies roll by, pondering the homily I'll be giving this Pentecost. The garden needs more attention, though! So the change in ministry has been an adjustment. But with the way the world is, this change provides a new focus which keeps my mind off fretting and more on the needs of others. I also get to spend more time with my beloved wife. I'll pray Liza, that the peace which passes all understanding will be an anchor for you in these stormy days. Jesus loves you beyond all imagining!

I had a little thought today at adoration. it was many lay people following Pope Francis all the way to the edge/cliff of hell. We must stop there. Then I saw him cannonball in. Could be that my imagination got away with me… but I truly saw this.
