I’m not worried or anxious but I feel almost an overwhelming internal urge — PREPARE. I’m unsure if the urging is for internal or external needs. I guess it really doesn’t matter if I take care of the internal (spiritual) side the other is just a plus
Whenever I'm out shopping, I often look at bulk staples, like big bags of rice, and my mind wants to go down the old rabbit hole of a prepping mentality: "buy, Buy, BUY!!" But then I turn off my mind and literally say that simple prayer, "Jesus, I trust in You. You take care of it." The anxiety vanishes and I rest in knowing He provides my daily bread. And now I realize, its just that. FOR ME, its only my daily bread now, or a weeks worth, because I only shop once a week, and seldom much more than that. I realized a while ago that I could literally be dead well before I'd ever use up any extensive preps, and what I had stored away previously (which wasn't inconsequential, honestly), I donated to the ministry where I volunteered several years ago. And I don't miss it; it was a false security.
I agree with you, he has been planning this a long time. Crimea was first, and that was years ago. This is a long term plan, but we are close to its fruition. I have got the feeling that this is Russia and Putin's "testing period." They built up troops on the border to see how the world would react. Once they had that answer, they are testing the world on how they will respond to the invasion - another reason they are taking it slow and possibly why they are using conscripted soldiers in this invasion. Testing the waters before revealing their true plan and weapons (including their trained soldiers). It feels terrible to think that someone could look at a human life as a reasonable loss for any purpose. Now I read that they are readying Syrian soldiers for this fight. Poor men and possibly women who have no other way of earning a living.

Every mushroom cloud has a silver lining! Yesterday's Gospel was on the Temptations of Christ. It seemed very apt and, for a change, I wasn't distracted. In this passage of the Gospel, satan offers Our Lord all the kingdoms of the world, saying that it was all his to give. Then it struck me that Our Lord said at another point that satan was a 'liar and murderer from the start', suggesting that this grand claim might also be another lie. The devil might think he's manipulating his world right now, but we all know that Christ is our King. And satan will ultimately get his comeuppance.
with oil and gas prices sky rocketing, all I can think of, is thank God spring/summer are coming very soon. I can tolerate heat much much more than cold. Also, have you seen wheat prices? They are already up 98% over the last 12 months and reports are that the winter wheat crop in China was the worst ever. Take that and couple it with Ukraine, its only beginning.
That was exactly what our pastor said, that the devil lied. God has all the power and everything belongs to Him.

I’m truly heartbroken for the soldiers who are being used as puppets….and have been for a very long time. The evil is now both pervasive and evident with no material solution. Just pray…
The price of oil, is the price of everything. Adding insult to injury, looks like Biden will beg Venezuela, Iran, and Saudi for oil. I did notice the price of bread is on the rise, and I was at the salon for a haircut today, price increase there as well. I feel bad for those who have a long commute to work, not everyone is lucky enough to work from home. Yes, only the beginning.
Also read that with the stock market dropping, those with retirement funds (401k) linked to it are taking a huge hit…. Prices going up, but their savings being decimated.
I’m finding myself doing similar things. Morning Praying to start the day, getting to confession often, and praying Rosary and Divine Mercy. We are also very blessed in our area that there are multiple opportunities for Adoration which I find to be so “relaxing” in a way. In fact, I hope it’s not seen by Our Lord with disrespect, but there have been a few occasions where I fall into sleep….my wife says it’s fine..the Lord is allowing these moments of peace. One practical suggestion… if your physically able, walk . Because life is a bit busy now, I put in my AirPods and will pray Rosary and Divine Mercy as I’m walking. I often start these walks with worry, stress and even anger and it’s so amazing how God works…. He allows these moments of prayer and walk to completely remove worries and anxieties.
