A long-time online friend (since 2003) contacted me today. I'd not heard from him since November 2020. He and wife recently left coastal Oregon for all the lunacy there. People aggressively harassing others over vaccination status, going ballistic over mask compliance, etc. Portland, Oregon was an hour's drive away. I'd wondered how long he could stomach it, but they both had good-paying jobs. They are now settled in the Dakotas. Friend says there is a lot of freedom THERE, that "it feels like America again."
Oh the poor, poor youth. I hope the triumph of Mary is soon…especially for this godless culture the youth see as normal. When we pass on, what kind of world will be left to them? Godless, in debt, cultural decay and void of hope. Its rough for us who still have faith , I’d hate to be young again if things don’t turn around.
What culture shock to live in freedom again! We’d better all be freedom fighters …this plague will visit us all and if not defeated, there will be no Dakotas left to flee to.
I agree. I was just saying yesterday that I think God will make more allowance for the youth ….after all, look at what was left to them….? It was dumped on them.

What a world wide onslaught. I know the nwo will say its our climate sins but I maintain its the Hand of God being lifted off from us. When we reject God en masse He leaves us to ourselves. Even ancient peoples knew this--chaos in the natural order is merely a reflection of chaos in the moral order. But try telling that to your enlightened friends because...ya know...science. MSNBC and NPR told them so.
I feel for them. I grew up in the American Midwest, so I'm used to rough weather. These people have absolutely no idea how to prepare for or recover from events like these.
I almost don’t know where to begin here…. So many things are swirling in this world right now both globally and personally. When I look at the various other threads here that are trending..covid, Canada, Ukraine, garabandal, they all in many ways link back here to signs of the times. And as many of you posted in other threads, it can be “heavy” and weary at times, but need to keep walking and following Christ on the road to Calvary. I keep telling myself, if there was no Calvary, no passion, no Cross, then there is also no Resurrection. And I KNOW and believe there is Resurrection. And, as I consider all that is going on in world and in our Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church right now, I can’t help but bring up that today is the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter. This is not about the current Pope regardless of what he has done, failed to do, or what we think of him as a man. It is about our belief , faith, and trust that Jesus Christ built His Church on the rock of Peter and despite all the mess right now, it will speak the Truth even when humans fail. We firmly believe that we are part of the mystical body of Christ, a holy people, a holy priesthood. We need to stay in the Ark of the Church as these flood waters descend upon us. And one more thought on a personal level that is terribly heartbreaking to me. I learned this morning that a wonderfully charismatic and faith filled priest who had a mission of joyfully bring gospel and healing ministry suddenly died yesterday. Fr. Bill was a powerful witness of Christ and a good priest. I trust he is receiving his reward, but as always, please say a prayer for him. I see this as a sign too… is God calling some back now in advance of the passion that will be happening soon? As we look sadly on his loss, I wonder if the Lord bestowed a gift upon him? I suppose it’s much like what St Paul wrote- whether he lives or dies- it’s up to God- he and all of us must continue to walk , do our best, and conform to God’s will.
