You can’t make this up. It’s been a nightmare. Seriously. His confusion on moral issues has put many souls in danger.

In your and my youth, yes. Now, it has manifested itself on earth and the satans best lie today has been to convince the elect to stand silent while he runs rampant.

We are God’s hands and feet and He blessed us with the free will to prove ourselves. Stand and put on the armor of God and actively resist as they overrun us, or not. But either way there will be enough...#GideonsArmy

To compare a worldwide traditional Catholic movement consisting of hundreds of thousands of young families to an individual religious who takes vows of obedience, is comparing apples to oranges, at best.

A layperson is not called to the level of obedience of a religious; a worldwide traditional Catholic renewal is not in any way called to “obedience” to these attacks on the Traditional Latin Mass.

These attacks must be resisted and these documents ignored.

In your honest opinion, do you think Padre Pio would tell us that? Based on what I quoted him saying to those fighting to clear his name by exposing corruption in Rome...I really don't think so.

    I'll repost that part:

"There is something to learn from the great saint in the way he handled a particular situation involving supporters. St. Pio learned that some men were going so far as to expose scandalous information about high-ranking members of the hierarchy in a book. The effort was aimed at freeing him from his "imprisonment". Ruffin explains Pio's response:
When Padre Pio, however, learned of the forthcoming book, he seized Morcaldi by the throat. "You devil, you!" he roared. "Go, throw yourself at the foot of the Church instead of writing this garbage! Don't you set yourself up against your Mother!"
Even after he learned later from Bevilacqua during that visitation that the allegations were true, St. Pio continued trying to dissuade efforts to end his "imprisonment" through the use of what amounted to blackmail. He did not want scandals exposed, even if they were true, because of the harm that would come to Holy Mother Church, and how it would affect unity. Pio knew that even bishops are not immune to the effects of Original Sin, but that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the Church (Matt 16:18). He accepted what befell him through imperfect men (Matt 23:3), by imperfect means, and he made the best of the situation. In fact, those misguided efforts to free him backfired at one point, bringing even greater trials for St. Pio."

Apples and oranges. These situations are not in any way comparable. Padre Pio, who refused to say the Novus Ordo mass, would understand that the Mass of All Ages cannot be abrogated by any pope or any of his henchmen and would understand and agree that “obedience” is not owed to any such unjust and malicious attempts to stifle Tradition.

Yes, Padre Pio would fight for the TLM.

Padre Pio wrote to Pope Paul VI and asked to be dispensed from saying the Novus Ordo Mass. That permission was granted. Padre Pio did not disobey.

You still do not grasp that Padre Pio obeying his superiors in a matter that only (and unjustly) applied to him is in no way whatsoever comparable to the universal Church refusing to comply with an attempt to abrogate the Mass of All Ages, which NO ONE can abrogate, not even a pope. No “obedience” is owed this. In fact, the Faith requires us NOT to obey this.

What authority said the TLM must not be abrogated? Pius V? Why must we obey him but not Pope Francis?

I would really love for you to be right. I truly love the TLM and losing it would be like sucking all the air from my lungs...I don't even know how to ever go back. Everyone just ignoring Pope Francis would be easier and we'd get to feel in control, right? But I also truly believe that God will preserve the TLM, just as He will preserve His Church. He said the Gates of Hell would not prevail against it... He didn't say, "If you fight hard enough, you will preserve the Church." HE will preserve His Church. We are so sinful, so prone to mistakes...We know so little. I truly believe if we approach this like little children, trusting and calling out to God for His mercy, and praying for our bishops to lead us, we will make it out of this mess. This focus on disobedience to Church authority just seems so contrary to what God has ever asked of His children. I fear it will not have the intended effect, and if God preserves the TLM, it will be in spite of the disobedience of some, not because of it. The disobedience may very well make the path harder, longer, and less miraculous.

I will pray and reflect on all of this more, as God knows I certainly don't have all the answers. For now I believe my soul is safest in obedience to my bishop. He'll know better than I what to do.

I used to get very upset about Our Holy Father and his various goings on. But I have learnt to find Peace by just switching it all off. If there were anything I could do about it besides praying I would switch back on again. I pray and leave it all in the Hands of the Good Lord who knows what He is doing a whole lot better than I do.:)

I remember the story of Good Pope St John 23rd who was turning over sleepless, worrying during Vatican 2. Suddenly the thought came to him, 'It's God Church and he will look after it'. Then he smiled and turned back and slept like a baby.

Obedience is at the very centre of what it means to be a Catholic. It is the twin sister of humility. No one ever said it was meant to be easy. In either case I am not even sure how one would rebel or be disobedient. What really could we do? It would be like standing on railroad tracks trying to stop an express train. :):)

Like Pope St John I am happy to leave it all in the hands of the Good Lord, it's His Church and he'll just have to get on with fixing it.

Now I think I'll switch him off again. He puts me in such a foul mood.;)

If it's any consolation I think Pope Francis is shooting himself in the foot and overplaying his hand with all this awful stuff. He's making a big, big mistake. Well then, let him.

    Obedience to God comes first.

If a Pope were to order me to do something that I know is wrong, sinful, then I would not obey.

My obedience is to a higher power, to God. The Pope is limited in his role as Pastor of the Universal flock, he is not a dictator.

If he behaves like a dictator and not a pastor then he is merely a wrecking ball.

We don't blindly obey out of a false obedience.

I feel sorry for priests, and families from TLM fraternity. They are between a rock and a hard place.

    St Augustine
Man is subject to God simply as regards all things, both internal and external, wherefore he is bound to obey Him in all things. On the other hand, inferiors are not subject to their superiors in all things, but only in certain things and in a particular way, in respect of which the superior stands between God and his subjects, whereas in respect of other matters the subject is immediately under God, by Whom he is taught either by the natural or by the written law.

A picture speaks a thousand words

Pope Francis needs to ask -where are all the young people?

Instead, he plays politics with the Church.

Statement on the Dec. 18th Document from the CDW from FSSP

The recent document from the Congregation for Divine Worship released on December 18th does not directly address the former Ecclesia Dei communities such as the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter who possess their own proper law.

The members of the Fraternity of St. Peter promised to be faithful to our Constitutions at the time of our admittance into the Fraternity, and we remain committed to exactly that: fidelity to the Successor of Peter and the faithful observance of the “liturgical and disciplinary traditions” of the Church in accordance with the provisions of the Motu Proprio Ecclesia Dei of July 2, 1988, which is at the origin of our foundation. The superiors of the Priestly Fraternity will be studying the document more closely while maintaining our ministry to the faithful entrusted to our care.

I have been thinking a lot about obedience lately.

The government has issued certain laws (vaccine mandates/passports) which restrict civil liberties.

These I will not obey because my freedoms come from God and not the State.

There is a clash of ideologies in this whole covid nonesense. The states are taking upon themselves emergency powers and becoming more dictatorial. The Christian is the one who is truly free and this freedom comes from God.

In the same way the State has declared that the unvaccinated are second-class citizens the Pope has declared traditional Catholics - second-class Catholics.

The 'Pope of Mercy' shows no mercy those who love the old rite.
