This may well be so, it would not surprise me.

But like 90% of the population when a dog barks and shows its teeth someone like Pope Francis will be paying attention to that rather than the specific breeding of the dog. Pope Francis is all about appearances, about shadows rather than realities. Including how he appears to others.

He is a New York Times Editorial incarnate.

If Trump is giving a pro life bark, it is that bark he as a Peronist would be paying attention to rather than what lies behind the bark.

Looking at the Catechism of the Catholic Church, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the “deliberate refusal” to accept God’s mercy and forgiveness (no. 1864). Six species of this sin have been identified over time as (1) Despair; (2) Presumption; (3) Impenitence or a firm determination not to repent; (4) Obstinacy; (5) Resisting divine truth known to be such; and (6) Envy of another’s spiritual welfare.
    https://catholicexchange.com/what-is-the-unforgivable-sin-against-the-holy-spirit#:~:text=Looking%20at%20the%20Catechism%20of%20the%20Catholic%20Church%2C,such%3B%20and%20%286%29%20Envy%20of%20another%E2%80%99s%20spiritual%20welfare.

So, in the end, there is one unpardonable sin and it has a very concise definition, I have heard thelogians describing it.

Well that appears to me going straight to hell then for asking questions about Pope Francis. There's no coming back from that.

But wait. If there really is an unforgiveable sin....and if there is no such thing as hell...well then how can folks like me who question the Pope like really be sent to a place that does not, according to his friends, like Bishop Barron, exist?

It strikes me that a post like this, 'You're going straight to hell for this', signals that the poster has run out of sane rationale arguments to place forward.

'You're going to hell for this', is really, really dragging the very bottom of the barrel.

The very, very bottom of a very, very shallow barrel.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

I don't think for one minute you would go to hell for being angry at hearing we have all been betrayed by those who should have protected us from the wolves, and the deceit of the devil.

Thank you for this quote, because I often wonder exactly what is the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit. Apostacy?

All the talk about the TLM and the Novus Ordo recently has been earth shattering for me. I read Pope Francis stated the TLM is incompatible with the Novus Ordo or post conciliar Mass, as his main reason for suppressing the TLM. If it is incompatible now, it was incompatible then. We have been deceived for years. And it works both ways.

This means the Novus Ordo was/is incompatible with the TLM, and should never have been imposed on us. God help us all.

How many of us have gone along with the changes since the Second Vatican Council without stopping and looking at the words we have been using to describe the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Novus Ordo translated from Latin to English means New Order, or is this not correct. We have been dancing to the new world order tune for sixty years and did not even connect the dots. We need to be more careful about the versions of the post conciliar Mass we attend, some of them are a joke. Some of them are indeed offered with reverence, but they are still protestant or so it is beginning to seem. IMHO

Jesus, please come soon and sort out this almighty mess.

I must admit Julia I have been feeling very stupid and wool pulled over my eyes myself recently.

My poor parents warned me and warned me about all this when I was young , but I just laughed at them.

If we meet in heaven the first thing I will do is apologise to them.

Well, God did not leave us orphans. The NO is valid. We have survived. But still.....
