HUGE collection of links to all relevant articles written about the motu proprio at this link: https://www.newliturgicalmovement.org/2021/07/roundup-of-major-reactions-to.html?m=1#.YPlz-OT3YlQ Roundup of Major Reactions to Traditionis Custodes [UPDATE #4] Reactions to the motu proprio Apostolic Letter Traditionis Custodes of July 16, 2021, continue to pour out, from every side and on many aspects of the document and its accompanying letter. I think it is fair to say that nearly all who have written on it, from any place on the spectrum, have expressed feelings that range from regretful dismay to intense abhorrence. It has, in fact, been a unifying moment for all but the most extreme papal apologists. It will be difficult to catch all of the articles that ought to be listed, but I shall give it a try, in the hopes that this aggregation will be of benefit to NLM readers. Some comments have been appended to certain articles. I have omitted articles that are little more than repetitions of the content of the documents, with no notable commentary. I have also not attempted to put the articles in exact time-stamp order, but simply grouped them by date. To place some limit on the list, I have only included English-language sources. Please feel free to add missing article titles and links in the comments. [UPDATE 7/19: I have begun to add some translations that are coming from foreign sources. It will not be possible to keep this list completely up-to-date but I will try to add when I can.] It should go without saying that neither NLM nor I necessarily agrees with everything stated in these articles. FRIDAY, JULY 16
If you'd like to join in starting tomorrow, here it is! https://www.romancatholicman.com/the-miraculous-54-day-rosary-novena/ The intention is for the hastening of the arrival of the holy pope Our Lady of Good Success (who appeared in Quito, Ecuador a few centuries ago and animates a miraculous statue still in the Conceptionist convent there today) promised would restore the Church. Our Lady of Good Success told Mother Mariana that after the 20th century, when things in the world and the Church had become so bad it seemed to be at its worst, she would send a holy pope to restore the Church. A great prelate would also be inspired by this pope to return the Conceptionist convent to the care of the Franciscans, which is important to restoring it to its former state of great holiness. (I originally mistakenly remembered it as the Franciscans would come back first, and THEN the great pope would come.) She said the people of those lamentable times when all seems lost should pray and weep for the coming of this great pope. Throughout the centuries, there have quietly been victim souls in this miraculous convent in Quito... I believe there are 7 incorrupt deceased nuns within their walls. Please spread the word about our novena that starts tomorrow. We can of course add the intention of Mary's special protection of the Latin Mass.
Exactly. Their hunger for Christ and undiluted truth drives them away from the all inclusive church of nice to the simple gospel message. I grieve for their loss but I cannot blame them. They have been robbed of their birth right.
Bishop Paprocki Dispenses 2 Illinois Parishes From Restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass In a July 19 decree, Bishop Thomas Paprocki, who is a canon lawyer, is allowing the parishes to continue to celebrate Masses according to the 1962 Missal. This document is unique, in that it is a decree with canonical dispensations and not just a statement. Jonah McKeown/CNANationJuly 20, 2021 The bishop of Springfield, Illinois, on Monday dispensed two parish churches in his diocese from an article of a new papal document that restricted the use of traditional liturgies. In a July 19 decree obtained by CNA, Bishop Thomas Paprocki, a canon lawyer, dispensed two parishes in his diocese from an article of Pope Francis’ July 16 motu proprio, meaning they will be allowed to continue to celebrate Masses according to the 1962 Missal. I don't think this action ever carried through, did it? But you will find plenty of sources simply stating that there are not enough priests in South America, a very real shortage especially in rural areas. : Landmark move to allow South American priests to marry may end celibacy for Irish clergy - Irish Mirror Online So, what I'm talking about is the South American aspect only, not on whatever they are talking about in Ireland which is editorial content.
Could someone post some links to a TLM online? I have little personal experience of the EF and would love to see it offered by a holy priest. Local parishes don’t offer it.
I believe St John Cantius in Chicago offers the TLM via you tube. They also have a reverent and beautiful NO. I think there is a website that gives all thd churches live streaming Masses all around the world. Catholic Mass Online (I think)
If I had a link, I would post it. That said, the Mass of the ages is deeply mystical and best experienced live. You may have to drive far, I am sorry to hear.
From New Jersey, I believe the World Apostolate of Fatima, the Blue Army has a Latin Mass frequently if not daily on their facebook page and youtube channel. The Rosary is first in the video: (11) World Apostolate of Fatima, USA | Facebook Back to the Parishioners, starts in the 39th minute, today: I am sure that there are plenty of places to watch on the web, Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter would be my guess, though, some of these places do not have the Mass daily, it looks like the Blue Army does. That priest does appear to have an Irish accent, does he not? Ronan Murphy. See the Homily around 52 minutes in or so.
