Nevetheless, Jackass as he may be, we as Catholics must obey him. We are not required to agree with his insane remarks and carryings on. but we must be obedient in all we must be obedient to. Which covers and awful, awful lot. The fact that he is a jackass does not make him not a Pope. We must be obedient to a jackass. It's a total , total, pain. But there you go.
There have been total. total assholes who have been Popes before and no doubt we will have total, total assholes as Popes again.. In my own personal opinion we have never, ever had a greater asshole than our present Holy Father (for how could that be possible?) (Nevertheless we're stuck with him) Suck it up.. live with it..carry on Jesus never promised us that a total, total and complete asshole could not be Pope. Nevertheless where we ever promised we might never get stuck with a ~i just want to die when I look at him ', Pope?
Padraig, I think we had one Pope in the past dig up another one to excommunicate him, I think I read that somewhere….
In 897, the pope dug up his dead predecessor and put his corpse on trial Pope Formosus And Stephen VII by Jean-Paul Laurens This week’s entry: Cadaver Synod What it’s about: One of the strangest moments in both the papacy and the legal profession. In 897, Pope Stephen VI (confusingly sometimes called Stephen VII) claimed the pontiff two leaders prior, Pope Formosus, was illegitimate, and put Formosus on trial for usurping the Holy See. This was only mildly complicated by the fact that Formosus had died a year earlier. Biggest controversy: Formosus also had plenty of trouble with the papacy while he was alive. In 864, Formosus was elevated to Bishop of Porto-Santa Rufina, in Rome, and then sent to Bulgaria as a missionary. He was so popular among the Bulgarians that they requested him as their bishop. The request was denied by then-Pope Nicholas I, as bishops were not allowed to move from one post to another. But Formosus’ popularity was noted (and seems to have been his only crime). When Nicholas died in 867, John VIII became pope, and must have had it in for Formosus from the start, because the bishop fled Rome. The new pope publicly claimed Formosus corrupted the Bulgarians, convincing them not to accept any other bishop in his place, and that this was a stepping stone to Formosus usurping the papacy itself. John excommunicated Formosus and several associates.
The crap generally tends to drift to the top. The saints to the bottom. We have an instance at present of very, possibly the very worst person, the very, very worst person in the entire Church being elected Pope. Nevertheless he has been. We're stuck with him. A result of our sins..
Padraig, I agree! I read that because of our sins God sends horrible leaders! We sure as heck have that now! Not all, but most! God have Mercy on us and Your Holy Roman Catholic Church!
But a very important distinction that I think many don't understand is that we have no duty to be obedient to him when he speaks of things not under his authority, which he does an awful lot. For example, when he talks about climate change, or saying we should take the vaccine, he has no authority to speak on those things and we owe him no obedience on those things.
'We are not required to agree with his insane remarks and carryings on. but we must be obedient in all we must be obedient to. Which covers and awful, awful lot.' In all things lawful.
Sign such difficult times. Especially for poor lay people who are not, very usually trained in matters like theology, scripture studies, canon law and so. It is the proper place of the hierarchical place of the Church that our Pastors the Bishops should lead the way. The natural way of things. We could get on with our lives and the Shepherds could lead us the sheep. Whats not to like? If we had a medical condition was went to our Doctors, they had the knowledge and we trusted them. But now with the lock downs and the vaccines and the Chinese coverups how can we trust. We once had a certain trust for our media and our Political leaderships. The exact same thing. But as loyal Catholics, worst of all the loss of trust in our Bishops and in the Vatican itself. In the first place with child abuse and child abuse cover up at the very highest levels. Financial corruption of the very first order. Sexual perversion, Homosexuality everywhere amongst our Priests, our Bishops. Now endorsed by the Pope himself who has appointed homosexual Cardinal after Cardinal . A Pope who seems to regard heresy as , 'Revolutionary Paradigm' as a way of life which must be followed by ordinary Catholics. Is it any wonder that ordinary devout Catholics feel lost and bewildered? But on the other hand the Good God would never have permitted this Chastisement to the sheep, of having wolves for shepherds in the political ,religious and other fields if we had not merited this punishment by our sins and infidelity. We have planted the fields with our grave sins, now we must reap the harvest of the storms and wars which are upon us.. Bad Popes, Presidents and Leaders do not come from nowhere. We brought this upon ourselves. But as for our own dreadful. dreadful and most unspeakable Pope. It is in God's own just hand to deal with. He is the Vicar of Christ. Well then we must wait on Christ Himself to deal with him. As deal with him He will, either in this life or the life to come. But deal with the wretch He will. May God have mercy on his soul.
Padraig, this was so beautifully written! And sadly true on every point! Painful as it is, our sins deserve it.
Mary, The Holy Catholic Church disagrees with the current English translations of LP writings, as there are many doctrinal errors in these writings. Hence the removal of the thread. Let us hope an acceptable Catholic English translation of Lusia Piccaretta writings which coincides with Catholic truth will be available in the not too distant future. Until then let us praise God for His Great Mercy on this the "Mother of God" Forum! Reciprocally I wish you the blessings you added to your DW posts, and I ask the Lord to Bless you now and always. Amen
Josephite, It does not make your statement any more true, no matter how many times you say it! There were No doctrinal errors found! But you already know that. You wanted The Divine Will thread shut down. You called it a cult, and heretical. You got the outcome you wanted. But I have to wonder if it is the outcome Our Lord wanted? Since He told Lusia it was very important to Him that others knew about the tremendous gift of The Divine Will. And all I was trying to do was oblige to that. Since the The Vatican itself printed the book the SUN OF MY WILL about Lusia Spiritually, And declared her A SERVANT OF GOD! I was also letting others know about her spiritually. But your judgement on what is doctrinal error has won the day on this site over the Church itself! Congratulations! Blessings to all now and Forever!
https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/...-colon-gemelli-policlinic-sergio-alfieri.html The Pope is having scheduled surgery on his colon. Another bulletin will be issued after the surgery.
Without engaging directly in an argument from a different thread that has made its way here, I just want to say that if something is so important to Jesus that He intends on transforming the whole world through it, He will do so officially through His Church, with or without a thread about it on this forum. Side note: I've been wondering why the forum seems to be undergoing a crazy amount of attacks, both amongst ourselves and from without (bots)... Is it a coincidence that it began about the time a certain thread here was shut down? I don't know, but it's interesting.
