I think this is a very likely interpretation of this extraordinary prophecy from Mother Mariana. Thanks !

I recall that subsequent to the publication of Amoris Laetitia and the follow-up pastoral letter by the bishops of Malta, I posted my reasons why I believed the bishops of Malta had sided with heresy. In it they said that even after a priest clearly explains the truth of the Church's position against receiving Holy Communion, the couple was free to do so if their conscience was OK with it. Yeesh!

It is times like these that I often wish I lived in "the good ole days" working the land, surviving from month to month, letting the Pope and hierarchy deal with the heretics. All I needed to do was to love God and neighbor. Sigh. Sounds so idyllic!

Safe in the Barque of Peter!

Blizzard, unfair!!! Would you want someone to dredge up your viewpoints from 2016? That’s 5 years of living in God’s grace and hearing His voice.

    edit
It seems like you are trying to take away Padraig’s right to feel as he does, today,

Shocked to see Brian go but unfortunately I'm too busy to digest the reasons, that said regardless of the ping pong wrong doings I personally would like to thank Brian for all the moderation work that he has done over the past few years he indeed helped ease my work load. If you are reading this Brian a personal thank you and you remain continually in my prayers Brother..

Au contraire, I was trying to show even then he had the courage to point out what many chose to ignore. But at no point did he propound we leave the barque of Peter or sponsor schismatic ideas.

    Maybe I missed something?

I was uncomfortable that you did this. It seemed out of line to me since it was not in response to a recent comment by him.
That’s all. I’m glad you clarified. No problem.
    Thank you. :):coffee:

    Michael,

Thank you for your candid, thoughtful response. One thing we must keep in mind. The descent into apostasy is not finished. There will be up and coming choices in which each of us will have to decide where to draw the line and say no more. Remember our sister, SgCatholic? She believes Benedict to be the true Pope and is no longer a member. Padraig has now drawn a line in the sand for the forum in regard to this Pope. Think of the Latin Mass. The downward spiral in the Church, however, will not end if the ability to celebrate the Mass of the Ages is rescinded. There will be other issues concerning conscience. Each of us will reach a point when we hold our ground and choose to descend no further, whether it concerns Francis or not. It will be sad if when we do, we do not all end up on the same level, but each of us will have to discern that choice. And where the Lord asks each one of us to take a personal stand does not imply any one of us is holier or more mature than another.

Please pray, fast, and discern with the help of others. Be prepared for what the Lord will personally ask of you.

Let us remain brothers and sisters in Christ.

Romans 12:9 Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; 10 love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; never be conceited. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends upon you, live peaceably with all.

    I have a question.

It seems to me that most of these decisions are being made by European-born hierarchy.

Is this a form of what's called "White privilege" at play?

Why does it SEEM "Hierarchy of Color" seldom factor in?

I can now sort of understand why non-religious equate Christian with White, because that's how it SEEMS to roll in the Vatican anyway.

    ???

Sorry but white privilege is cultural Marxist nonsense. It is divisive and its aim is to foment race struggle.

Mario, I am curious what you mean about taking a stand and refusing to descend any further. Do you think the ship (the Church) is sinking? What does "hold our ground and choose to descend no further'" mean? Getting off the ship? Please explain further; I'm genuinely wondering.

Desertstar7, How about they are just bad priests regardless of the color of their skin? God looks at Hearts, NOT the color of ones skin, Just as we should. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, no matter what our skin color is!

Yes, I know it's Marxist, agree with your reply, but it does seem that White hierarchy are the ones making all the big decisions.

No! Absolute nonsense! You are obviously American.

    Agreed.

But my point was that it seems it's only the European (White) hierarchy making big decisions.

I seem to only see / hear from them.

Do Asian, African, etc., hierarchy have no say? Are they pressured to go along with European hierarchy?

Cardinal Sarah's book was published ... then he was silenced: https://www.amazon.com/Day-Now-Far-Spent/dp/1621643247

    Just wondering.

I'm also White and the accusation of "White privilege" is a thorn in my side (I'm not privileged) ... so please know I'm not being antagonistic.

I seem to have struck a nerve.

Yes, I am American. Can't be anything else, this is where God put me.

If my question rankles, you should ask yourself why.

It DOES LOOK as though only European hierarchy are calling THE shots.

I do not know if most on this blog are aware that the Church in Europe gets most of its funding from Germany! And it seems to me, it is they who call the EVIL Shots!

It seems that Americans like to spread their racist theories everywhere else. As an Irish person, I detest your blaming of White people. By the way, Pope Francis is a South American from Argentina and I am sure he would like someone like Cardinal Tagle(Philippino) to replace him. The Jesuits also seem the most influential in South America.

    PF,

Thank you for pointing out that poor phraseology. In the posts above, BrianK and Picadillo questioned the authority of the Papal office in regard to the possible curtailment of the Latin Mass. As the apostasy proceeds there will be beliefs dear to each of our hearts that will be attacked and we will have to choose to speak out or not. If we do, we will be criticized, rebuked, and/or challenged. How will we respond? Each of us will have to decide where we will draw our line in the sand when the time comes.

An historical example would be the the English Reformation. Rich Catholics had 3 basic choices as Elizabeth tightened the screws: 1) go underground and support the Jesuit priests coming over in cognito, 2) pay fines to temporarily alleviate the pressure to submit to the Queen's Church, or 3) capitulate and join the Queen's Church so that your temporal life can proceed as normal.

Today, in regard to remaining attached to the Latin Mass if it is suppressed, choices will have to be made whether to go to a SSPX Mass, attend a clandestine Latin Mass, or simply switch to a Novus Ordo. If other issues come to the fore, a similar pattern of discernment will follow depending on alternatives. I assume, MOG members may be making different decisions.

    Does that help?

    Safe under Mary's Mantle!
