Yes. They were pathetic. The moderator was dreadful and the way the questions were framed was designed to elicit angry responses. Gutter tactics dressed up in a smooth tone. Trump didn't disappoint him. He seemed ill prepared. Very sad to hear a self-proclaimed "devout" Catholic tell the world that his election is essential to continue and increase the mass murder of innocent pre-born babies. And did he really say that Antifa is just an idea? Reminded me of Obama describing ISIS as just a JV team.
Over at Telemundo... 66% of Hispanics think Trump on target... 66 Percent of Spanish-Speaking Americans in Telemundo Poll Think Trump Just Won the Debate Not what the Democrats were expecting I'm sure.
Conventional wisdom/political strategy in Presidential elections is that you pander to the more radical elements of your party until you are nominated; then you move to the middle when you debate the other party's candidate. This is the strategy the Biden campaign was displaying during the debate... Biden states he is now against the Green new deal, against defunding the police etc. etc. The strategy is to win the undecided middle voters. But Trump doesn't play by conventional rules. He sees that moving to the middle just saps the vigor from your political base. He realizes you have to turn out your base rather than flip flop to try to get undecided votes. The undecided voters usually don't show up to vote anyway. Trump baited Biden into statements that will alianate the radical Socialists, environmentalists, and anti-police factions on the left. These are voters that would never vote Trump, but they might not now canvas and work for Biden. So niether man "won" the debate...it was a mess. But Trump succeeds in fractionalizing and draining the energy from Biden's base. Look to the press to focus on the raucous nature of the debate rather than how the candidate's posistions on issues might hurt Biden.
Was President Trump trying to rattle Mr Biden. It looked like Biden was groomed to control his anger on more than one occasion during the debate when he seemed to be looking down and almost counting one to ten backwards, rather than reacting to some of Trumps remarks. Just a thought.
I had the strange impression that both gentlemen were in contact at times with outside advisors who were giving them directions at certain points. . I enjoyed the debate and am sorry I did not have popcorn. I am so relieved I am not a politician. Very entertaining. I was sorry they could not have shook hands and been kinder.
Chris Wallace was horrible last night. He is a registered Democrat and his bias was on full display. Trump was debating with Wallace as well with Biden. It was a total disgrace. Fox News needs to call him out for this. The worst moderated debate I’ve ever witnessed.Wallace interrupted Trump and let Biden get away with interrupting Trump . Trump was forced to interject his points because Wallace shut him down constantly. It was two against one. Totally unprofessional and totally biased. The biggest loser was Chris Wallace! https://usagag.com/2020/09/30/chris...bate-in-the-favor-of-biden-and-against-trump/
This is one way how that the presidential election will be stolen as well if the democrats have they way...
I just wish Trump was less aggressive. I love President Trump but he won't win any middle of the roaders with his constant rude interruptions. He needs to be more presidential. Of course he has my vote, but it was upsetting to see his behavior right at the outset of the debate. I got up and went to bed after 35 minutes. Too upsetting to watch.
Potential voter fraud with mail in ballots...this election will not be called on election night...chaos may incur:
Finally, the church had spoken! “Cardinal Burke: Biden should not receive Holy Communion“ https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/cardinal-burke-biden-should-not-receive-holy-communion-15439
I agree that he did interrupt, but the debate was two against one. Wallace question favored Biden....and it was obvious. I don’t disagree that it was a overall disaster...too much interruptions, but if trump hadn’t interrupted, the only voice that would have been heard was Biden’s and his advocate, Chris Wallace. But yes, it was horrible overall.
Yes, Donna the debate was painful to watch. Not the best night for the President. Biden wasn't respectful either, calling President Trump a liar and a clown, frequently shaking his head, smugly laughing to himself, and told Trump to shut up. Mike Wallace did not do his job, and even covered for Biden when he lost his train of thought. Sad that important points were lost in all the chaos.
As President Trump said last night, "This will not end well". The election decision could very well end up in the hands of the Supreme Court. It is so important that Judge Amy Coney Barrett is appointed before the election.
Friends I have remained silent too long.... I can no longer want to witness support for Mr Trump. I am a Catholic for Biden and yes I am pro life... all life and I not only talk the talk I walk the walk.... The devil lies steals and deceives.... I’m sorry but I am reminded of my history lessons from Germany in the 1940
