  1. ROTFLMBO...:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I keep telling my dog you are coming Padraig! She is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Great Pyrenees and she is wonderful. I got her free off of Craigslist! That summer I got 57 chickens, 4 ducks and two goats for free too, but they went to the freezer!! Can't wait for you to come!!(y)

  2. Wow Jane, that has got to be the most negative post I've heard on this forum. It is hard to trust right now. Father Essiff and his good name is a good soul and an exorcist for the Church. I suggest you take the time to google his name and listen to some of his videos on prayer and love and forgiveness. He is not name dropping, he is telling a bit about his history to help give credence to a visionary who came to him with messages from Jesus and Mary for the world. If I came to you and said, "I'm trustworthy, but I am not going to tell you my history, just TRUST ME....would you?" I think not. Father Essiff has his own website and he also has one with many wonderful priests, and religious and laypeople who are very gifted and busy in their vocations serving the Church.

Do you homeschool, MS? If so, good for you! We have six and are homeschooling them .... Or I should say that my wife is... She does the heavy lifting with it...

quote="mothersuperior7, post: 29258, member: 438"]It all makes me want to take my kid's curriculum and throw it out the window and say, "Okay, now you will read a book about a saint each day, learn some Latin, study your faith and catechism and learn how to cook and hunt." THATS ALL!! Everything seems SO worthless when it comes to education. I believe knitting and sewing are better than learning so many other things. We need to know how to pray, build, cook, hunt and keep food. We need to find that joy in our lives instead of the rote-living we do now. My family is so diverse and so ready for the other shoe to drop...Its like taking a splinter out of your foot! PAINFUL![/quote]

  7. Jane,
At the beginning of the Locutions site this is stated by Mary:
This means that Msgr. Esseff has been given a role and full responsibility for these locutions, and he has accepted this task.
His role is as spiritual director, and discerner. It is fitting that he gives a public reference of his own experience of receiving spiritual direction -Padre Pio- and of a directee of him who is well known -Mother Teresa.

I think that MS7 has given you a very wise and charitable response too.

And yet the locutions are not perfect, that's very true. Because there is nothing human that is perfect. But we don't discard everything because some of it is not perfect.

I find interesting that the people who are really strong against the Locutions site, then they express in other threads their opinion about the next Pope as being Marian and this and that (exactly the message given to us by the Locutions). I wonder where do they get those opinions from. Is it just wishful thinking? or is it finding something sound and valuable in the Locutions site but at the same time they are not up to taking the responsibility of acknowledging at least the possibility of a divine origin to this information?

This is very inconsistent too. We all have our own inconsistencies, not only seers, spiritual directors, or locutionists.

By the way, I'm a spiritual director myself, and to me it is significant to know the experiential credentials that Msgr. Esseff can offer in this field, because spiritual direction is not a theoretical art/discipline, but an experiential one. It is a gift of the Spirit, and if it is true that you learn and educate yourself in the field, the main thing of a spiritual director is the charism of discernment that people recognize and that is totally a gift from the Spirit.

Just as Sr. Breige McKeena and Fr. Kevin Scallon seem like wonderful people, faithful to their calling, so does Msgr. Esseff. This doesn't mean they're immune from making mistakes. If you recall, both Sr. Breige and Fr. Scallon gave their enthusiastic stamp of approval to Anne the Lay Apostle/Direction for Our Times. Fast forward a few years later--they both withdrew it. Experience has shown me that it's important to maintain a diligent attitude despite how much I admire the persons supporting an unapproved message.

I'm not saying that Msgr. Esseff will eventually withdraw his support of Locutions Around the World, but I wouldn't be shocked. I actually subscribe to his regular email newsletter, but I've never seen him talkabout the LOTW in them. Apparently, he wisely keeps this part of his ministry separate.

If you study the false messages, you'll notice trend. Most of them contain a lot of truth. They usually encourage people to fast, say the rosary, refrain from sin and speak favorable of devotion to Our Holy Mother. If they didn't say these things, no good Catholic would fall for them. Every hunter knows that you have to use the right bait to lure your prey. Satan is a skilled hunter. We're the prey. A message might go along with church teachings 95%, and people say enthusiastically say, See, See, this is true, so the rest of it has to be true too! The devil is a sly one. He knows that it's that itty bitty 5% that sows the seed of confusion that eventually leads to disobedience, loss of faith, and so on.

Wise words, Rain. 'Test the spirits...' and retain a healthy scepticism about ALL non-approved claims. A very good and traditional Irish priest stuck by (and continues, I think, to do so) a 'visionary' who has amassed a fortune and shown herself to be anything but a true servant of Christ. The valuable work that this good priest did towards cleansing seminaries infected with homosexuality and modernism made him, I believe, the object of special satanic hate and she was probably satan's instrument in harming the priest's reputation.

    I couldn't agree more. :)

By thinking this way, doesn't make you a 'bad catholic' or a bad person. It means you are a person 'on your guard'.
Thanks be to Jesus, we are told to be on our guard. Are we not?

I believe there is no harm in not believing locutions or apparitions that are yet to be approved.
But there is harm if you believe and in the end you find out it was from Satan.

If Satan is possibly behind any of them, it's also wise to read what is his motive.
Is it because he is trying to take you away from what Jesus really wants you to know?
Is it because he wants you to be disobedient to the Church?
Is it because he wants to put fear into us?

By the way, before anyone jumps on me. I am not saying these locutions are from satan.

I pray every day at mass that we all on the forum learn the truth. I hope you pray the same for me. :D

I could be wrong, but my bet is that Father Esseff is well aware of Catholic doctrine, false teachers and false locutions and that he would not be a spiritual director for any person who say's anything contrary to the faith. After all, his spiritual director was St. Padre Pio who himself was ridiculed and scoffed at by the "experts" of his time for his mystical gifts.

    I don't think you're wrong.
I am sure he would be aware. :)

I think we are responsible to pray for him and all people who say the recieve Divine messages.

  14. Well, you won't find me hanging my butt off a cliff! lol Maybe a hole, but not a cliff! I spent way to many years traveling in a car with my dad driving who never stopped for 'potty' breaks and we all had to take turns with the coffee can in the back seat while everyone 'looked out the window'...my kids would jump out of a moving car before they would do that! :ROFLMAO:
