I watched the full talks from Fr. Michel Rodrigues on youtube linked by ETA from Daniel O'connor's site. I am blown away. The Canadian priest from Quebec sounds fully authentic and his detail about the illumination of conscience and how it comes and refuges is amazing, also the 3 days of darkness. He is building on God's word a place that will become a refuge for many priests and he says he has to build fast. It's english in a french accent but not too hard to follow....highly recommended, it's left me quite shaken. From the here links below in Daniel's post, they are in order..... And speaking of the Antichrist and those who prophesy his imminent arrival, I’d like to again recommend Fr. Michele Rodrigue, whom I wrote about in my last post. Since writing that last post, I have watched two videos of his preaching: here and here; and I am now even more confident in his authenticity. A friend of mine reviewed dozens of CDs of Fr. Michele’s talks and shared with me, also, that Fr. Michele has said — with some sadness — that the Father’s next message to him will simply be to announce the arrival of the tribulations.

Bingo! DeGaulle, This is the thought that I have been having, more or less. If it weren't for our prayers and a prophesized conversion from sin then this could very well evolve into the time of the final Antichrist. I think this why Our Lady has been warning us about the times that we are in for so many years. I believe in the prophecies of Our Lady of Garabandal and it just simply makes sense to me that unless there is a big conversion in the world, a conversion away from the sin soon that what we see occurring now this could very easily evolve into the time of the final Antichrist but I believe that the Warning will occur because the time of the Second Coming is not at hand yet. Pachamama, Just a Symbol or Also an Idol? 23/10/2019 | Edward Pentin | https://edwardpentin.co.uk/pachamama-just-a-symbol-or-also-an-idol/ A reflection by Juan Antonio Varas of the Brazil-based Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira Institute, part of the Tradition, Family and Property movement. “The removal from the Roman church of Santa Maria in Traspontina of three statues of a naked woman, in an advanced state of pregnancy, which were then thrown into the waters of the Tiber has caused a stir and the images of what happened have gone viral on social media. The outcry is not surprising. In fact, the three statues, as well as the Tiber River, are full of symbolism and everything that happens on a symbolic level has an impact on people, even in our times which are little used to symbolism. So much has been written about the history surrounding the Tiber, that there is nothing to add. But what do we know about the symbolism of the Amerindian aboriginal peoples? About their cults? About their customs? Their history? Probably, after this Synod on the Amazon, one might go a bit deeper into these themes by reading for example, the three volumes of one of the fathers of Spanish-American literature, Garcilaso de la Vega, the son of an Inca princess and a Spanish hidalgo, born in 1539. Garcilaso knew the history of his ancestors first hand, and also that of other peoples who lived in Peruvian territory and who were subjugated by the Inca. If we wish to follow faithfully the indications of the Synod Fathers, who have invited learning about the “ancestral wisdom” of the aboriginal peoples, it is imperative to consult the oldest sources, rather than instead of folklore invented by contemporary anthropologists. In this regard nothing is more useful than reading “Los Comentarios reales de los Incas” by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega.* Here the title “real” does not refer to the Inca royalty to which Garcilaso belonged, but to the fact that his writings narrated the “real,” that is, the true; in other words, what he had learned directly from his Inca ancestors, in their Quechua language. In fact, Inca Garcilaso observed that the history and traditions of the Inca were known only orally and so there was a need to write them down. Thus was born the monumental compilation, the fruit of the work of a life dedicated to remembering and recording what he had heard and experienced. After more than five centuries, no one has ever dared to refute the truth of the facts narrated therein. Obviously, the purpose of this article is not to summarize, even briefly, the three volumes. The first volume alone has 596 pages. However, we wanted to take note of it after reading Andrea Tornielli’s editorial in Vatican News (22 October, “Newman and the statuettes thrown into the Tiber”), in which the editorial director of the Vatican’s Secretariat for Communications complained about the removal and subsequent throwing into the Tiber of the aforementioned statuettes. But what does Inca Garcilaso say about this “traditional symbol”? Tornielli, in fact, assures us that the images that were removed [from the church] are “a traditional symbol for indigenous peoples that represents the bond with our ‘Mother Earth’, as defined by St. Francis of Assisi in his Canticle of the Creatures.” Now, is it clear that it is a symbol, but don’t the statuettes of Pachamama (or Mother Earth) also represent idols? And if they are indigenous idols, why not say so? After a description of the turpitudes of the primitive cults of the pre-Incan Indians, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega reports on the worship of Mother Earth by the Amerindians as follows: “Some worshipped the Earth and called it Mother, because she gave them her fruits; others the air to breathe, because they said that it was because of the air that men lived (…). Those on the coast, in addition to another multitude of gods they had, worshipped the sea by calling it Mamacocha, which means Mother Sea, to mean that she held the office of mother, supporting them with fishing (…). In such a way they believed not only the four elements to be divinities, each one on its own, but also all those that were composed and formed by them, no matter how contemptible or unclean they were.” These indigenous people did not limit themselves to giving a peaceful cult to Pachamama or Mamacocha. “Conforming to the turpitude and baseness of their gods – Garcilaso recounts – was also the cruelty and barbarism of the sacrifices of that ancient idolatry, because in addition to common things, such as animals and crops, they sacrificed men and women of all ages. (…) In some nations, this cruelty was so inhumane that it exceeded that of the beasts, since they were not satisfied with the sacrifice of the captured enemies, but they also wanted that of their children (…). They sacrificed men and women, boys and children, opening their breasts when they were alive, to extract the heart and lungs, and before the blood cooled, they used it to sprinkle on idols, who commanded them to act in that way. Then they looked inside the hearts and lungs to understand the wishes and to see if the sacrifice had been accepted or not, and (…) they burned the heart and lungs to the idol in a holocaust and then consumed them, and they then tasted with great taste and no less joy and satisfaction the sacrificed Indian, even if it were their own son.” As you can see, infanticide has a long history. Can one really say that these cults were the same to which the Seraphic Father Saint Francis referred? A word “about the adoption by the Church of pagan elements” as written by Cardinal Newman in “Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine” and quoted in Andrea Tornielli’s editorial in defense of the statuettes of Pachamama. When he supports the newly canonized cardinal it is true, since the Church has always known how to avail itself of the cultural and artistic riches of the different peoples, however much they might be in religious error. The objects listed by Saint John Henry Newman were actually adopted by Catholic worship, after having been exorcised from evil spirits with purifying water and Catholic rituals. But it is an adoption made with great wisdom and acute Catholic discernment. In doing so, the Church shows herself open to how much she can sacralize and embellish her worship, giving it meaning and authentic symbolism in the service of the truths she professes, without ever letting herself be confused or syncretized. In fact, the Church has never adopted idols, let alone if they were represented naked. Otherwise, the churches of the Mediterranean should be full of Greek-Roman statues instead of altars with images of Madonnas and saints, paintings, frescoes and mosaics that have contributed so much to strengthening the faith of peoples. The Inca temples of Cuzco, a world cultural heritage site, were not destroyed and are the foundation on which the cathedral, the episcopate, the seminary, etc. now stand, as has happened for many churches in Rome, for the cathedral of Syracuse, etc.. I don't know if this part of Daniel O'Conner's article has been posted yet, but it's very interesting: I’ve got quite a library here for my philosophy and religion research, and decided to look up Pachamama in the massive “Encyclopedia of Religion” (edited by Lindsay Jones). Within it’s over 10,000 pages are the following fascinating insights into Pachamama: In brief: for Amazonian Pagans, Pachamama worship is essential for bringing back their false secular messiah, Athahuallpa, to institute a false Messianic Age, in which the “conquerors” (i.e. Europeans and Westerners, and the associated genuine Catholicism) are themselves conquered; an age which superficially acknowledges some Christian aspects but really places that all secondary to the Paganism which, apparently, many South American “Catholics” never actually left when they became Catholic. Is this reminding you of anything? If not, let me jog your memory: Now, I’m not some crazed conspiracy theorist trying to argue that these silly wooden carvings at this synod are actually a demonic plan to enthrone the Antichrist. I’m guessing those who brought them are, like many Catholics today, good people who are simply clueless and do not realize that syncretism is a heresy and a sin, and do not realize what demons they are inviting in by their actions. (It has long been observed that many indigenous South American Catholics have not left their Paganism to become Catholic, but have simply mixed the two together). My point here is only to say that this is a major sign of the times, not merely by accident brought into light publicly — but inspired by God Himself, who I believe called those men to throw the idols into the Tiber — with which God wishes to draw our attention to what is soon coming in a much larger and much more serious way. For discerning Catholics would do well to pay close attention when naked Paganism (pun intended) pierces its way into the very heart of Christendom. For those enamored with the world and with “dialogue,” (which the casting out of the idols was apparently also a “sin against”) may I kindly remind them that idolatry is incredibly serious. Hopefully we all remember the First Commandment.

Controversial statues’ ‘splash’ in the Tiber leaves Vatican media officials soaked ANALYSIS ROME, October 23, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Vatican media reaction to the hurling of the “Pachamamas” into the Tiber River this week has spanned the alleged five stages of loss and grief, from denial to anger to bargaining. But it has yet to reach the final stage of understanding and acceptance. Despite the varied response from Vatican media officials, informed sources have told LifeSite that if you want to get normal people working in the Vatican to smile, just say “Splash!” Vatican response Hours after a video emerged social media on Monday, capturing the seizure and plunge of several replicas of the controversial statue into the Tiber River, Vatican media officials were asked for their reaction. The prefect of Vatican communications and president of the Amazon Synod information commission, Paolo Ruffini, denied the need for a Vatican response. Ruffini said that “stealing” something from a public place and “throwing it away” is a “stunt.” “We already repeated several times here that the statue represented life, fertility and Mother Earth,” he said. This was in fact the first time Ruffini openly called the image ‘Mother Earth’. “It’s an act that, it seems to me, contradicts the spirit of dialogue that should always animate everyone,” he continued. “I don’t really know what to say except that it was a robbery that, perhaps it speaks for itself.” Seemingly tone deaf to the concerns of many ordinary Catholics, and seeking to further downplay the statues’ jettison and journey down the Tiber, Fr. Giacomo Costa, also a member of the synod’s information commission, said it was “meaningless” to keep highlighting the statue, which “along with a parrot and a bottle of water,” merely “represented life in the Amazon.” Fr. Costa added that “stealing is never constructive.” But downplay soon turned to indignation on Tuesday, when Vatican editorial chief, Andrea Tornielli, penned a front-page article in L’Osservatore Romano accusing the unidentified “new iconoclasts” of a “violent and intolerant act.” “An image of motherhood and the sacredness of life, a traditional symbol for indigenous peoples representing the bond with our ‘mother earth,’ as described by Saint Francis of Assisi in his Canticle of the Creatures, was thrown away with contempt in the name of tradition and doctrine,” Tornielli said, effectively acknowledging that the statue was more pagan than Catholic. Coifi, the pagan high priest of the King of Northumbria, when he became convinced of the truth of Christianity, rode a stallion into his own temple and smashed it to pieces. The story is recorded by St. Bede, who also tells of St. Gregory the Great’s letter to St. Augustine of Canterbury, in which he writes that if one can find locations, festival days and harmless folk traditions which are not per se related to idolatry, there is no need to suppress them. Encourage the people to be uncompromising in their rejection of idolatry, St. Gregory said, but one doesn’t need to destroy things that are not in themselves connected to idolatry. The introduction of clearly pagan elements into ostensibly Christian worship in order to undermine a people’s adherence to Christianity was certainly a technique employed by the German Christians in the 1930s, when they were looking for a form of Christianity more acceptable to Nazism. The ‘new iconoclasts’? Andrea Tornielli branded the men who hurled the controversial Amazon Synod statue into the Tiber as the “new iconoclasts.” Historically, the iconoclasts claimed that the depiction of Our Lord, the Blessed Mother and the saints was idolatrous. But the controversial Amazon Synod statue is officially not a depiction of the Blessed Mother at all, yet in the eyes of many ordinary Catholics was given the worship of obsequium (bowing on both knees) at the Oct. 4 Vatican gardens ceremony. Both the iconoclasts and the iconodules (who believed one can worship Our Lord and venerate the saints through an image as long this honors them through the image) would have been very clear that bowing to a pagan statue is idolatrous.
