My mum has accepted the role as Rosary crusader team leader for the public rosary crusade in honour of our Lady's requests at Fatima. It apparently starts in New Zealand on the 12 October and travels throughout the world for the 24 hours before the 13 Fatima this year. Many countries are involved. We have been organising so much in our area! please pray. We here on the east coast of Australia will be commencing our public rosary at 1000 hours this Saturday on the 12 October 2019 at a public venue and all is arranged. It will continue around the world throughout the 12 October to usher in the 13 October. Please pray for its success.

Someone made a telling point regarding those trying to reassure themselves that Scalfari might have made a mistake, since he doesn't take notes, that 'who needs notes when a pope, of all people, declares Christ is not God?' I am more than a little perplexed today, the mainstream media appear not to have picked up on this and even mainstream Catholic media appear to give it a miss. Baffling. Strange times.
No it is the Popes was of saying things without ever saying them. Smoke and mirrors. I am long past the point of trying to dream up excuses for him.
That's the best response to all the confusion. I'm more guilty than most of pointing the finger at the hierarchy while ignoring the three fingers pointing back at myself. We need to step up our own part in ushering in the Triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart and trust that our prayers will be heard and answered.
Hit back with the Rosary! It is being suggested that Christ, while he was on Earth was only a man. Every Hail Mary affirms that Our Lady is 'Mother of God'. And this is also the wonderful title of this website. "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our death, Amen".
I think Scalfari's suggestion is so off the wall and likely to stir up anger against their pet pope that the media are hesitant on reporting this. Anyhow, I think it is really timed to be a message to his acolytes in the Synod, to the effect, 'look at me, I'm game for anything'.
What an ugly mess to wake up to. I've been babysitting and out of the loop, I couldn't believe it when I saw this thread. Yes, very little media coverage. Saw some random comments on Twitter; various clergy were rushing to the Pope's defense, Bishop Tobin was among them. I think you are correct about all 'smoke and mirrors '. I do not believe that the Pope's statement was an accident, or some kind of misinterpretation. He wanted his opinion out there, and he used his 'friend ' knowing he would get away with it. How horribly cruel and destructive. This week has been hard to take. We've had the pagan 'garden party ', the Synod, and another off the rails comment. We are in deep trouble. I was offline most of the day yesterday so I am just reading through the thread. I am sick! We live in truly weird times. And so many people do not realize what a spiritual battle this all is. We go about with politics and society and everyday life and our very essence (souls) and our very Mother (Church) is being shredded from within.
However , despite the lack of coverage, if you read the comments from ordinary Catholic people they are outraged. I think Michael Voris on his original video on this topic, when last I looked had over 44,000 hits. There is no doubt that pretty well all of them believed that Pope Francis had in fact said this, which is revealing in itself. I read a comment,. 'They should send the Jesuits into the Amazon again to convert the natives' To which I replied, 'How could the Jesuits convert the Natives when they are not Catholic themselves?' Then I got this reply, 'I'm a Jesuit, I'm a Catholic!' I meant to reply, 'That's a big surprise, don't let your Superiors or Pope Francis find out about this or you'll be in really big trouble""' But I lost the reply slot. I am enjoying taking cheap fun shots at the moment . It cheers me up a lot. I might take it up as a hobby. There's not much we can do really but pray. I just feel this really strong urging at the moment to pray for our poor Church. I might take a few cheap shots now and then to keep me happy though.
I'm concerned about Dr Tim Gordon. He is young and fit but he's had that virus for several weeks now and is not shaking it, in fact it seems to be impacting him more and more. Dr Tim if you read this you really need to see a MD. Just to get checked. You appear to be running a slight fever and this does not seem to me to be a normal progression?
I love this. That's what I was thinking, every time we pray the Rosary, we re-affirm our Catholic Faith that Jesus Christ is God, and became Incarnate for us through Mary. Anyway, I just looked at an old Pope Francis homily for Jan 1st this year: "Today is also a day to be amazed by the Mother of God. God appears as a little child, held in the arms of a woman who feeds her Creator. The statue before our eyes depicts the Mother and Child so close as to appear as one. That is the mystery we celebrate today, which gives rise to boundless amazement: God has become one with humanity forever. God and man, always together, that is the good news of this new year. God is no distant lord, dwelling in splendid isolation above the heavens, but love incarnate, born like us of a mother, in order to be a brother to each of us, to be close to us: the God of closeness. Did Scalfari lie? Did the Pope merely explain poorly, and Scalfari misunderstand? or was it some combination of all that? Anyway, it would still be nice to hear Pope Francis say "I believe Jesus Christ is True God and True Man" Such a basic confession of Catholic Faith. But, yeah, for us, our solution is only in the Rosary. Let us be holy, let us keep the Faith. That we can control. What others want to do is beyond us.
I know the situation is insufferable right now and you are right there clearly is a lot of 'nudge-nudge, wink-wink' going on, but we still cannot declare we owe no allegiance to the Pope. Making such a declaration is separating ones's self from the papacy. What we can do is not owe allegiance to any declarations that go against the faith. That is an important distinction from ceasing to accept Pope Francis as Pope entirely. To do that we would need authority of which we have none. Just take this last Scalfari interview for example. Though it seems obvious to us the general idea of what happened, we still do not know for sure what happened. We do not have evidence that would hold up in a court of law. It is like prosecuting a case against the mafia. Everyone knows what they are doing, but the government needs to gather hard evidence to make an airtight case. Until we have the equivalent of some hard evidence that will hold up in court we are stuck in a bad situation. That may very well be true, but the damnable part is we don't actually know what he said. And that is why this is so infuriating to the faithful, because everybody does know what is going on, but we cannot resolve the situation.
