Francis: Jesus Was “Not A God At All”

Given Pope Francis' recent statements about not being concerned about a schism, I can't help but wonder if all of these Scalfari interviews and related declarations have been a ploy to push the orthodox Catholics out of the Church. (Sorry PF and Dr. S, it's not going to work.)

I've had similar thoughts -- the timing of the Scalfari release may be significant during the synod as well.

At the same time this one will backfire as it is so scandalous that it will do enormous damage to the church if this is not corrected.

    Enough is enough.

Yes, enough is enough and aren't these "heretical bombs" almost always dropped when the supposed "rigid" Catholics are paying very, very close attention to some event/news in the Church. This I am not certain about but I do believe that it is a good possibility.

Apart from the heretical nature of the claim, it is one of the most absurd contentions I have ever heard. Arianism had, at least, a logic and a coherence to it. It claimed that Christ was a creature and not God. Untrue, but there is sense in the claim. This atheist is claiming that PF has asserted that Christ, while a man, has somehow managed to unbecome God for His thirty-three years on Earth. How can a Being not be that Being for any length of time? The notion is so daft, I have never come across anything like it in any of the heresies I have read about. It is so ridiculous that it seems unlikely that Scalfari would invent it, unless his mind is completely going. His memory might not be perfect, but it seems that if it failed him he might have misremembered something less unprecedented. Anyway, it seems implausible that Scalfari would forget a conversation as absolutely crucial as this, it goes to the very heart of debate between an atheist and a pope. It is earth-shattering, anyone with a functioning brain would not get something like this wrong. And no friend worth the name would reveal something as damaging as this about his friend without the latter's complete consent.

Bergoglio, no matter what he thinks, is not the Church, nor are his minions. He will die and it won't be long and the Church will stand forever.

According to Abp. Vigano/Life Site News, Benedict is being used, and has been incorrectly quoted in the past, to make it look as though he is giving Francis unqualified support. Benedict advised the new Cardinals to 'serve the truth' but was (inaccurately) quoted as telling them to 'support the Pope' according to the following. Of course, Francis and his friends would do this, lying comes naturally to them.

That has the ring of truth about it. I remember they tried to pull a fast one a couple of years ago with some books to which Benedict was said to have given his approval and it turned out to be a complete con.

As for me, I am not shocked by anything done or said today or in the future. Who is the father of lies and deceit? Who was it that said, let your yes be yes and your no be no. Any ambiguity within the middle is from the devil. We have seen this game played out for 6 years now, why should any of us be surprised? Direct silence from PF will again be the clarification he will give. Does anyone really need a direct answer from him anymore? We know the game of cat and mouse. It is all smoke and mirrors as the diabolical disorientation continues. Just keep praying the rosary daily as our Lady of Fatima told us to and let God do with our prayers what only he can do and be at peace.

A Pope who says "Jesus is not a God at all" - whatever that means - is not a Pope at all. It is high treason against Jesus Christ our King to even let such a statement stand.

But, of course, there is always the plausible deniability. But never the denial of heresy, and the affirmation of dogma. Jesus Christ is Lord and God. That is the Truth and the confession of that Truth is necessary for salvation. The Pope will claim he never said it, but will he affirm he believes that Our Lord Jesus Christ is God?

The Pope is doing what St. Peter did and is denying Christ, at least by his silence. Mary our Mother must be weeping and praying. Let us do the same. How very tragic.

Just a clarification. St. Peter did deny Our Lord, but it was through mortal fear, an understandable, though regrettable, human weakness. He bore no ill-will against Our Lord, he only wished to save his own skin. The motives of our present holder of the papal throne seem far less excusable. If this latest statement in his game represents his actual beliefs, it seems to display deliberate malevolence against Our Lord and the Church.

I’m driving up the Pacific Coast Highway in California to Portland Oregon, fully expecting a maximum earthquake and tsunami to take out the Pacific Northwest during the next week. Seriously. I would not be upset if my journey ended prematurely in this fashion.

It’s been such a blessing to ignore the world and Church news for the last month during my travels, but I simply cannot ignore this.

Agreed. St. Peter made a mistake through fear of possible death in a difficult situation. That's what most of the Saints and Doctors say in their commentaries on it. It's hard to see what threat or duress Francis is under; he seems to be doing all this deliberately and freely. Anyway, it's a truly horrible situation. But if he really said it, then imho he should be declared deposed, by the Cardinals and Bishops. But I don't know that he said exactly what Scalfari said he did. The Vatican puts out the usual disclaimers https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...at-pope-francis-denied-christs-divinity-52026 but not a single explicit statement from the Pope affirming his belief in Christ's Divinity. The Fathers of Nicaea anathematized as heretics all who would deny it, as St. Paul does in the Gospel. The martyrs and the Apostles lived proclaiming it and died defending it. How tragic all this is. Sigh.

    Lord have Mercy.

    It’s really a spectacular journey.

I passed about 30 seals sunning themselves on a small inland bay sandbar about 15 miles ago.

There’s a little Catholic Chapel within walking distance of my campsite, but they only have a weekday mass on Wednesday mornings. D562D6DF-FD71-4F56-B56F-CF0490F61997.jpeg
