    A tip for a good night's sleep.

I am fortunate to live about 4oo yards from our chapel.

When I lie down at night on the pillow and get into a nice comfortable position I am actully able to imagine where the chapel is out the window so I then think of the tabernacle and Jesus present there - I get great comfort from the fact that Jesus is actually so close to me physically in the sacrament in the Tabernacle. It leaves me with a warn feeling in my heart --

One can also make up little prayers and ejaculations praising the Lord for His presence.

I praise and worhsip Jesus Christ really and truely present in every tabernacle in the world.
Thankyou Lord for your close presence tonight.

Nice advise thanks. I live about 400 yards from where St Ciaran lived as a hermit on a lake but I never considered something like that to help me to sleep. But now I will as I could us some help sleeping these days. Thanks.

Having listened to the great Michael O'Brien on video recently he alerted me to the importance of using our imagination in a spiritual manner -- that we must control it rather than the other way around. For example we can capture images from say the mysteries of the Rosary and contemplate these as an aid to prayer. Or we can imagine ourselves travelling with Mary on the Visitation to her cousin Elizabeth; or be with Jesus and Mary when they realise they have left the child Jesus behind in Jerusalem --

I watched a most distressing programme the other night about families searching for missing children or siblings -- the pain etched on their poor faces and hearts broken by distress - I could hardly watch it because the pain was so real -- a real heartbreaker

I must remember to pray for these poor families when I say the 5th Joyful mystery - the finding of Jesus in the temple - that they might have peace and comfort -

    Very nice.

We reside a scant 1/4 mile from the parish.

Sometimes while drowsing into sleep I think on how the sanctuary (nave) must appear at night: Hushed, and with streetlight faintly seeping in.

    I wrote this Haiku poem:

    Night sanctuary:
    Faintly glowing stained glass gems
    dapple Our Lady.

I have the Blessed Sacrament right across the street from me with the Jesuit's !!

The only problem is I am not so sure if they have kidnapped him or not!!:D:D

I am not in a good place with the Jesuits just at the moment.;)

Still I was reading about St Ignatious fighting the devil just a few nights ago and there are hundreds and hundreds of Jesuit saints so I must stay calm.;););)

You know maybe we're mot always meant to sleep well. I usually wake up around 3 am. Just when the Devil is at his fightenist. If we're not there to meet him, who will?

Me too Padraig. I usually pray a DM chaplet for whatever need the Blessed Mother wants me to pray for. I figure 3 AM is still the hour of mercy.
