Agree with Padraig in some ways. It would need a hard kick to the Church ( what i mean pope/Cardinals/all bishops/priests (if any) that would shake their core as regards to the truth. That is because we are too soft for a long time as its time to give them a hard kick. There are two versions of the church 1. The church that they call themselves (The Vatican/Pope/Cardinals/priests) as they think they above the law etc. 2. Other church that is us -lay people. Truth is the key as cases of abuses, gay priests, bishops on the bling spending lavishly on their house are all truth which all came tumbling out. Truth is for the brave whisteblowers who spoke out. Truth is cruel to be kind as sort of a wake up call. Truth is essential and timeless - no amount of watering down etc. The ones who call themselves the church as they don't like the truth that includes all popes starting from V2. Jesus is not about institutional, he is about healing, reconcilation, and truth.
It's a bit like putting salt in the recipe. You have to use discernment. Too much salt and you will loose it. Too little and it dies. Knowing when, where and how is the key. This is when the Master Chef; the Holy Spirit leads us on. But lead us on He will. We have only to ask. But yes indeed sometimes a little salt in the stew beefs it up. With stew honey would never help, salt often does. Sometimes a little salt kicks it, sometimes more than a little. Sometimes kicking ass does no harm at all. Only good. It's knowing when and how.
Say a prayer for me about this...it’s no small matter...a soul is at risk. I’ve been praying about it for way to long without resolution. Can’t wait any longer....
Ask yourself first of all where you are coming from. Then ask yourself where they are coming from. But ask questions about yourself first. Then , like a little child lay your head upon the pillow of God in prayer. Never fret, sleep in your love. But after a sleep in love and prayer be ready if calls you to be , be a good Warrior and kick as. If he calls you to grin and bear it. Well that's just fine. But sometimes He will raise a Trumpet and call you to go to war. You never hear this truth anymore in the Church. So sad. Our ass kicking days seem to be long gone. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.
I feel greatly disturbed by something tonight and I can't put my finger on it. Anyone else feel the same way?
Could you explain it in simple terms? Have you been disturbed before ? If so, worse than before or same? I recall from your previous posts that you seem to be spiritually aware than myself? I accept that. Everyone is different in terms of spiritually. I remembered many years ago that i was disturbed greatly which i didn't understand that time. It turned out to be my grandfather who died which i was away & didnt know until i came home. Then i understood re disturbed. Another example was that i went over to England as i felt big change in spiritual envirnoment there. I was disturbed but that was some 2o years ago. Ireland have gone back regressively as if spiritual force reduced. It might take say another 10 or 20 years to be barely existing with faith barely still alive in patches in some places here and there. But it could be a different matter or entirely something else different.
Prayers for yourself. I don;t feel disturbed as such. But I do understand that events are coming to a head both in the Church and the world. Long foretold events by seers over the last few centuries. It is as if it was the Autumn of the world and watching the falling leaves of events all round we know a winter for the world is about to fall upon us. But after this winter will come another Spring and a Wonderful Summer for the Church and the world. I feel as folks much have felt in the late 1930's felt when the winds of war blew so strong.
Yesterday was a disturbed day here. Spiritual energies colliding so to speak. It ended on a note of peace but it was uncharacteristically troubled.
There can be only one version of the Church which is the mystical body of Christ. That version is one, holy, catholic and apostolic. I'm very wary of people who attack what they euphemistically call the "institutional" Church, as often as not their real target being the pillars which keep the Church one, holy, catholic and apostolic. Those pillars are: Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the Magisterium. Removing or corrupting one of those pillars would render the visible Church impotent. Satan has attacked all three pillars at various times in the history of the Church with varying degrees of success. The attackers of "the Institution" use an array of descriptions for it, ranging from the buildings to the vestments to the hierarchical authority instituted by Jesus himself and the all male priesthood. While the description may vary, the aim remains the same: to divide and conquer. There has never been a time when the mystical body hasn't included members willing to corrupt it, beginning with Judas. There has never been a time when the mystical body didn't have members willing to choose man's ways rather than God's ways to combat evil (Jesus to Peter: "Get thee behind me Satan. Thou art a scandal unto me, because thou savourest not the things that are of God but the things that are of man" - and Peter wasn't advocating for material things). There has never been a time when the mystical body didn't have doubters like Thomas who required a personal revelation to convince him of the Resurrection. That's the "Institution" given to us by Jesus and those who would destroy it today use the weaknesses of its members to attack it just as the Romans and corrupt Jewish authorities did when Christ came to save us. "Could you not watch one hour with me" wasn't an admonishment for an unwillingness to fight. The apostles slept while Jesus prayed. I reckon His mother was at home praying. And the only apostle not subjected to a martyr's death was the one He entrusted with the care of His mother. These are the examples we need to follow now during the hour of the Church's passion. That doesn't mean we shouldn't speak out to correct wayward shepherds, but we should be very careful not to let ourselves be manipulated. In my lifetime, the most glaring example of a "whore of Babylon" scenario has been Fr. Hessburgh of Notre Dame and the (mostly Jesuit) priests from Catholic academia who opposed Humane Vitae and promoted the zeitgeist's verson of "the spirit of Vatican 11". They sold the soul of the Church's educational institutions to the Rothschilds and the population controllers, and that sell-out continues through their proteges. McCarrick was very much a part of the Land o'Lakes sell-out. Turns out that he was a sexual pervert but they all perverted the Church in their own way. Hessburgh was a personal friend of Pope Paul V1 which probably saved him from being excommunicated as they all should have been. That was a failure by Pope Paul V1 but at least he was Catholic enough to distinguish the spirit of the age from the Holy Spirit when he issued Humane Vitae. Today's crisis is a culmination of successive Popes' failure to pluck out the Church's offending "eyes" or cut off offending "hands" and it dates back to long before Vatican 11. The battle is a spiritual one, and the Rosary is our weapon of victory. God will raise up saints in strategic positions to safeguard His mystical body, but we need to pray that He will give us the wisdom to recognise them and give Peter's successor the wisdom to listen to them. Otherwise, all the recycling or prepping in the world won't save the earth when God decides to cleanse it.
I would like to give you a standing ovation. Wonderfully on point and full of insight.. Every word ringing with truth.
Thanks for your prayers Padraig. Usually I get this feeling before a positive breakthrough, so hopefully I'll be fine.
I think we are all being tested. We just need God’s Grace to get through these trials...but they do seem endless
Thanks. We need to keep reminding ourselves that we have some great priests who have given up everything to serve God in a hostile world. Yesterday was vocations Sunday and the priest at my Mass was a young lad who exuded joy and love for Jesus and the Church despite having to carry the baggage left by abusers and others who were only in the priesthood for what they took out of it. Young men like him and Mario's son will lead the next generation on the narrow path. Hessburgh is gone and his proteges will be has-beens soon enough. The many good priests need our support and they all need our prayers.
I am utterly at a loss as to what Archbishop Diarmuid Martin stands for. He has perfected the art of speaking out of both sides of his mouth at once. On this evening's news he is all for communion preparation and religious instruction being removed from schools. What does it mean having a Catholic school if religious instruction is not allowed. He is happy to hand over our Catholic Schools to an evil government agenda .I haven't heard a word from him on the evil sex education plan being introduced to junior school. Does he not realise he has a responsibility to evangelize and be a true shepherd prepared to lay down his life for his flock. This is all so disheartening. So many young souls being served up to Satan by those who should be protecting them God help us all
