Padraig, Thank you, this is an excellent video! I must admit that when I see a video that is close to an hour long or even longer I am a little put off by the length unless the video comes highly recommended and even then it can be difficult for me to stay focused throughout the video. This video had so much useable advice for all Catholics that I think it is well-worth our time to watch it especially for those of us with families members who are struggling with the Faith.

I like that Father Mark Goring is so honest and he states that he never paid much attention to the politics of the Church in the past. I think that this is true for many Catholics and is understandable but unfortunately the current crisis is forcing us to pay close attention to the politics of the Church. I think many of us might even say that there shouldn't be politics in the Church, if only that could be the case.

In addition, Father Goring suggests for us to send a letter to our bishop stating our concerns regarding the crisis especially if we have a bishop who doesn't appear to be concerned. He also recommends that we write to our bishop commending him if he has shown true concern about the current crisis in the Church. I believe that he offers very good advice all around.

Father Goring mentioned Saint Faustina in this video that you posted and I noticed that he has a new video about this saint,

Since Father Goring also mentions Father James Martin (without mentioning his name directly) in the video that you posted, I am posting a short video to demonstrate what Father Goring and other clergy were referring to recently,

As a side note, I keep thinking about the significance of Archbishop Vigano's original 11-page letter which Father Goring states impacted him greatly as it did for so many people. I also think about one of Saint Bosco's prophecies from time to time, the 400 days prophecy. In this prophecy, the pope and some followers "walk" away from Rome for 200 days and then they "walk" back to Rome for another 200 days. I began wondering if it is possible that the date of August 25th which is the date that Vigano's letter was made public might be the day that this latter 200 days began. If so that would mean that this entire 400 day journey would end on March 13th, 2019. I have made other guesses about this in the past but the date caught my attention and I thought that I would post about it. I have no certainty that it will be a significant date but the 13th of the month is significant to the prophecies of Our Lady of Fatima.

    Edited to add:
I came across the following video today which I think has some significance in regard to the crisis and Pope Francis. We knew about the letter that was given to Cardinal Sean O'Malley to give to the pope regarding the sexual abuse in the Church in Chile but this video provides a little more evidence that the letter was mishandled.

This quote from Pope Francis was given on August 25th in Dublin, “Recently, in a letter to the people of God, I reiterated my commitment, or rather, a greater commitment to eliminate this scourge in the Church, at whatever cost of morality or suffering.”

It's well past time for zero tolerance.

Here is another video which Father Heilman just posted from the recent prayer rally in Baltimore,

I love the phrase,' Weaponised abiguity'. This stuff comes straight from out of hell. Only the brilliance of a Fallen Angel could have thought this strategy up.

The people bringing all thse videos out are very loyal and devout childrne of the Church. Imagine how bad things have gotten when they have to come out fighting.

It astonishes me how prescient Pope St. Piux X was in his writings about the heresy of Modernism. though he did not use the phrase "Weaponized ambiguity", that is exactly what he said the strategy of the Modernist is and why it is so dangerous. They specifically talk and write in a way so it is difficult to pin them down as to what they are espousing and whether it is orthodox or heretical.

It reminds me of the story of a U.S. lawmaker in Congress (I forget who) but back a few decades during the hearings on some issue or other the question came up as to making a delineation between art and pornography in government-funded art programs. Many obviously did not want the government funding pornography. If memory serves, the lawmakers had great difficulty coming up with an exact demarcation line. One of them quipped something to the effect that "I can't point out exactly what the difference is, but I know it when I see it!"

That is what Modernism is. It cloaks itself in the trappings of Catholic belief, but it is the exact opposite without coming right out and saying so. It is an insidious poison.

Yes it is a bit like have a boxing match with a mist. Where to start.

But Jesus has not left us orphans. There is a way of doing this. Pope St Pius x had an oath against Modernism which folks had to ake. But it didn't seem to work.

There must be another way of dealing with this. I must pray and think.

I’m not sure when exactly, but priests stopped being required to take the oath.

As far as I recall not everyone had to take the Oath. Just people like teachers in Seminaries and Universities.

But there was a basic illogic to it. The good people who took the Oath would not engage in heresy anyway and the bad ones would break the Oath as a matter of course. It they had been the kind of people who kept Oaths there would have been no need to give them an Oath in the first place.

Catch 22. Counting on dishonest people to be honest with Oaths.

But there is a way of dealing with them. There are ways of dealing with every evil. God is smarter than the devil. We just have to pray to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to show us how.

    Come Holy Spirit.

There could also have been canonical penalties though for breaking an oath. I don't know, but that would seem to make sense. Back in the days when those things mattered anyway.

To be honest I think back then oaths really meant something that they don't to us today. People think nothing today of even breaking their marriage vows and those are just about the only oaths we take anymore.

I know that is one of the reasons Hitler had the entire German army swear personal allegiance to him. He knew that even if they disagreed with him they would find themselves duty-bound since they took the oath. Many good Germans found themselves in moral quandies about this, particularly as the war progressed and things became more difficult.

I am afraid Oaths never meant too much to folks who followed Satan anyway. It is a contradiction in terms to suppose that evil people would be loath to do evil things.. like Oath breaking.. Far from it, they would rejoice in it. Suppose you were , say, to force the Mafia to take an Oath that they might obey the law. Would they ?

An Oath to force evil people to be good? This is not realistic.

I loved Pope St Pius the tenth but this was an adminsitrative way of dealing with what was basically a Spiritual problem.

A kind of desperation. Like putting a plaster on a tumour.
Tony Soprano would have taken any Oath you could throw at him and laughed at it. Then at once broken it. So would heretics.

Even more so. Heretics are far, far, far more evil then Tony.

    I'm not so sure.
Aren't the mafia famous for whacking people who went back on their oaths?

    I don't think so.

How about oath's of fidelity to all church faith formation teachers on moral and doctrinal teachings before anyone is allowed to teach our youth programs? Would they find anyone in most dioceses around the country to fill these positions? Seems to me this should be a standard for all Catholic institutions. Rather, what I have found is if you adhere to church teachings, this will surely disqualify you in most parishes.

Thanks, Carol. The video on St Faustina's visions of hell is worth its weight in gold.
