This is true, but God wants us all to live for and in his Divine Will at the same time. We know who wins and the Holy Trinity has given us all the means to part of the winning side.
Utterly demonic, but hopefully might repel many of the undecided. Even those who behave like whores generally don't like to be described so.
Have the Bishops spoken publicly to stop this? They ought to get the Protestants on board as wellone would think.
I've heard little from the bishops. It is hard to blame them. They are routinely so blatantly and scurrilously attacked by the media that there might be a risk that a strong intervention could be counter-productive. There are subtle messages being included in the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass, for example, but this is generally a preaching to the converted. The Life Institute, a lay organisation, is running a fine campaign. The gap is narrowing. With the help of God, we might yet Save the 8th. I fear the Protestants in the South, unlike many of their colleagues in the North, seem largely indifferent.
The church needs to give a strong pro life message to those in church because sadly many are not at all converted and need to be told that you cannot as a catholic vote for abortion. A lot of church goers voted for gay marriage because they were not given any leadership by the church. If everyone who goes to church voted 'no' then we will have a good chance of defeating this diabolical referendum.
I have said this before, but it is important to understand that God is weeding His garden! We must not fear nor be dismayed, but "pray, pray, pray" offering all to Jesus through Our Blessed Mother, and do whatever He tells you.
Dirty work at the crossroads, I think these attacks were staged to make pro lifers look very bad. Anti-abortion graffiti attack on two Catholic churches 2 hours ago Share this with Facebook Share this with Twitter Share this with Messenger Share this with Email Share Image copyright Google Image caption St Colmcille's Church in Carrickmore, County Tyrone was targeted by vandals A Catholic church in Northern Ireland has been daubed with anti-abortion graffiti for the second time in 24 hours. The latest attack happened at a church in Carrickmore, County Tyrone. Several messages were painted on the walls of St Colmcille's, including one which said "only DUP speaks for Irish unborn". The message references the Democratic Unionist Party's (DUP) anti-abortion stance. A picture of the graffiti attack was published by the Ulster Herald newspaper. The incident comes after a similar attack on St Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh. "Save the 8th save Ireland" and "Sin (sic) Fein Irish baby killers speak up" were among the messages painted on the cathedral. "This disgraceful graffiti attack on Carrickmore Chapel is the second such attack on a church property in 24 hours," said Órfhlaith Begley. "I have visited Carrickmore Chapel this morning - I have spoken to Father O'Neill and parishioners and people are incensed by this blatant sectarian vandalism." "It is totally wrong and inappropriate to smear a place of worship, or any public building, with graffiti to make any sort of political point." The police said it was investigating both attacks as reports of criminal damage. They said the Carrickmore incident took place between 21:40 BST on Monday and 08:05 on Tuesday morning and the Armagh incident took place between 23:00 on Sunday and 08:00 on Monday. They have appealed for information. The vote will decide on whether or not to repeal the Eighth Amendment of the Irish constitution, which upholds Ireland's strict abortion laws. Sinn Féin are among the parties campaigning for a yes vote in the referendum.
You're right, Mary. It's difficult for the priests tho. Many are ageing and isolated, lacking in support. Our own parish priest is in his 80s. They do preach direction from the pulpit, tho not in the fire and brimstone manner. Many preach it gently. This used to anger me a lot. It doesn't anymore. Our priests are under so much pressure. I have a great appreciation for the good ones. In my opinion, of those that sit in the pews many are aware of church teaching. But a good amount of them will not listen let alone adhere to church teaching. They know abortion is wrong; and like many other wrongs, they merely cherrypick what they follow. Cafeteria Catholics I've heard it called. Only God can save us now. If the 8th is lost, Ireland is lost with it.
Bishops and Priests have the ultimate responsibility to speak out publicly against this abomination of sin and arrogance on the part of man and most especially our governments when they openly embrace these things. Where are the voices crying out in the wilderness? Where is the Church militant? Well Lord, you see, I was under so much pressure and I felt I really had no support? Sectarianism! Who is the protector of the Truth? Is it not the Church?
Shocking the hatred and obstinance on the abortion supporting side. https://twitter.com/twitter/statuses/992433880266412032
Im guilty, Don. In certain company, I'm reluctant to speak out as vocally as I should against the ills of society. I can only imagine how difficult it is for the priests to speak out. The knives await anyone that speaks out here in the "free" West. Just ask the good protestant owners of Ashers bakery in Belfast. (Google this, if anyone hasnt heard if it)
I am too jack. I have held my tongue I am afraid when I should have instead loosed it. Although in my family these things can get pretty out of hand so it was for the best I think. It's an interesting dilemma, in my youth, I couldn't ever seem to hold my tongue and it got me into so much trouble I prayed and worked incredibly hard to learn not to "fire for effect" so to speak. Now, I often think about what I say beforehand and because I can choose now not to say things which might cause others pain or trouble I do it. I don't know what the answer is. I pray that God places it upon each of our hearts when it matters most to stand and be counted on these matters.
As I read the messages given to the Benedictine Monk in the book In Sinu Jesu, it is clear from our Lord that priest in large part are not doing the will of God. Our Lord speaks sternly about only a few priest spend time with him in his Eucharistic presence. This is where their and our strength comes from and so few will take time out of their day to make visits to the Blessed Sacrament. If priests were spending time and promoting and making frequent visits to our Lord in his Real Presence, we would not have as many problems in the world today. Their example would build strong communities and weaken the devils assault upon the Church in more than one way. If everyone on the MOG forum spent time with our Lord visiting his Eucharistic presence it would make a huge difference in the world. It starts with us.
Good post Churches around here are locked Not all but most Due to vandalism and robbery But if priests and people were in there visiting (like the old days , here I go living in the past again) then maybe more churches might be kept open and inspire more visits I know even brief visits count With God
Visits to Our Blessed Lord in the Blessed Sacrament are enormously important for priests and lay people. It is in these visits where our strength is replenished, our love inflamed and some measure of reparation is made to the Lord. Basically the answer to most if not all our ills, in the Church and in our families and wider society is staring us straight in the face. It is the Eucharistic Lord. Without Him we are truly nothing. If all of us who go to mass at least weekly were to commit to spend just one hour per week with the Lord in Adoration it would make a big difference. If we were then to encourage just one other person to do so, an even bigger difference could be made. Going to mass on Sunday is vital to receive the Lord. But we truly only come to KNOW HIM when we take the time to visit and spend time with Him in Adoration. Our lives should be essentially Eucharistic. It is only from this living fountain that we can draw the nourishment required to persevere. The Church should promote Eucharistic Adoration much more vigorously. Our Blessed Lord so longs for our company. It is the very least we can do to spend as much time as possible with Him. Every minute spent with Him is precious as He blesses not only us but the whole world when we do so.
