If he does proceed with the correction on his own, he may be excommunicated by the Pope or interdicted at the least - that is probably holding him back. Also maybe he may have truly discenered in God’s presence that the thing to do now is pray, wait and trust...
I try to get around this by saying "I pray for the pope's good and holy intentions" regardless of what the pope's intention for the month is. Hoping that it's acceptable to our Lord in view of the difficulties with this papacy.

While this is true, I find it interesting that to my knowledge, I am not aware of any credible prophecies that speak of a bad pope to come. The closest messages to this are from Pedro Regis who has redundantly said, "stay with the true magisterium of the church". We do know of the False Prophet who could be an antipope, but this is not Pope Francis, as he is a valid pope. He surely could make it easy for the False Prophet however, as he has fomented and allowed the false teachings going on today.
Yes, to reveal or lift the veil and IMO to refine many. If we do that which is asked of us we will receive that which was promised. If we do much more than is asked how much greater will our rewards be? How much more pleased will the Father be in us? We must aim for Sainthood no matter how badly we fall short. These difficulties we are facing are an enormous opportunity for each and every one of us.
I think there is a Prophetic Danger, not intended by the Holy Spirit of providing a specific Pope as , 'False'. That is not God's intention. I know there have been some who have been concerned over the writings of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich because she was so sick her visions were written down by a man by the name of Brentano, but I have always thought if God can keep the universe in place he can protect a few important scraps of paper from adulteration if he wants to. To me many of her prophecies seem so accurate I cannot think that it is mere coincidence...
