  1. RE: TX church massacre......On FOX they just mentioned that today is the anniversary to the day of the Fort Hood, TX massacre (8 yrs ago I think) which is located around 3 hours from this spot. But don't know how this would connect to church victims unless this was another radicalized person to terrorism to continue more of what was intended that previous day. Saying he was in full combat gear....white man, 26 years old....married....had been in Air Force for a time....had taught bible studies at some time....lived in a suburb of San Antonio. Gunman is dead but isn't known if he killed himself or cops took him down during chase afterwards. Name some places are giving now for shooter: Devin Patrick Kelley

A LinkedIn account which appears to be Kelley's states that he joined the US Air Force after graduating New Braunfels High School in 2009. He worked in logistics and supply in the Air Force until 2013, when he left and volunteered as a teacher for Bible studies at Kingsville First Baptist Church.

  2. P.S. to above comment......shooter had been dishonorably discharged from Air Force.....not good!

  3. Since the shooter in TX was dishonorably discharged it was against the law for him to own a gun!

And he was a wife beater. Another check mark for not allowed to own gun. Also he was an atheist and a proud one according to his Facebook page. This is not a gun problem. This is a God problem as we all know well around here.

It occurs to me as regards to the shooting in Texas. Say you were the devil and taken control over someone and wanted him to do something that would cause most harm and offense to God? Why you would send him to a Church on Sunday to kill as many people as possible and then to kill himself so he can be dragged right off to hell.

Praying for everyone who died and their families at mass. A lot of this strikes me as spookey.

    You are abosolutely correct, Padraig!!
I was just thinking this morn that it's got to be Satan and his evil disciples involved in Texas, Las Vegas ..... and drug cartels .... urban cesspools ... politics .... abortion mills ..... and ..... it has always been so since The Garden but These-Days few, even Christians, are willing to say that Demonic Forces have been loosed in ever greater and, dare I say, prophetic numbers/events!! The Media and Liberals are always quick to blame "mental Illness", society, Military Service, low taxes and, these past 12 months, Trump/Deplorables. The Left is angry 'cause they simply can't seem to find a Conservative/Christian Terrorist Out-There to blame for a horrific event! The must dig-up outrages from Crusader times whilst ignoring the greatest mass murders of History ....... that would be godless Socialists! ..... Oh!! They think Hitler was bad 'cause he was an anti- Marxist Communist godless Socialist ....... but now that the International Left has embraced Muslims, and thrown Jews under de bus, The Holocaust is not mentioned much ........... Satan is mixed up in all of it!! Convince me otherwise!!

    GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!

Is it me or is he getting, shall we say, bolder in his criticism of those at the very top of the church hierarchy (check out 0:40 mark).

MOSCOW (AP) -- Hundreds of people were arrested in the center of Moscow while trying to gather Sunday for an unauthorized demonstration called by an extreme nationalist group.

The arrests at Manezh Square, adjacent to the Kremlin, came two days after Russia's domestic security agency said it had arrested some of the group's members. They are suspected of planning to firebomb administrative buildings.

The group, called Artpodgotovka, was declared an extremist group by a Russian court last week. Its exiled leader, Vyacheslav Maltsev, had called for protests to force President Vladimir Putin's resignation.

The OVD-Info organization that monitors political arrests said 376 people were detained Sunday in Moscow and another 36 in three other cities. State news agency Tass cited police officials as saying 263 were detained.

It was not clear how many people had planned to demonstrate.

Analyst Stanislav Belkovsky, who formerly advised the Kremlin, suggested that the large number of arrests exaggerated any potential threat posed by the nationalist movement.

"Special services must constantly create threats, so that they have something to neutralize. If there are no threats, there is no work for the special services," Belkovskyhe said on independent radio station Ekho Moskvy.

I was reading the Bella Dodd story awhile back and one thing that she said really stuck with me.

"Dehumanization is the direct consequence of despiritualization."

It is so true!! We see evidence of this in society on a daily basis. May God help us all!

Padraig, I think he is correct that evil is being exposed. I really like his tie too! I found it online, https://www.catholictothemax.com/catholic-apparel/st-michael-tie/

"St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen"

    Padraig,

No, I don't think that it is a coincidence. I think that Don may have posted about this one in Fresno right after the Texas shooting and there was one not too long ago in a church in Tennessee, http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/24/us/tennessee-church-shooting/index.html. So that is three.

The following is a fourth, http://wavy.com/2017/11/06/it-does-...-after-teen-found-dead-in-church-parking-lot/ The pastor of this church states that he has seen this before. It appears that shootings in church parking lots do occur fairly often but not shootings like the Tennessee incident in September and now this Texas incident is horrific. It is very, very sad.

I found this list of church shootings on a blog but it hasn't been kept up to date, http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum...ch-shootings-11-years-comprehensive-list.html

This article from October 1st highlights the US' deadliest mass shootings two of which occurred in a church not including the recent shooting in Texas,
    Deadliest U.S. mass shootings, 1984-2017
    http://timelines.latimes.com/deadliest-shooting-rampages/

    and another article from yesterday,
3 of the 10 deadliest mass shootings in US history happened in the last 18 months — here's the full list http://www.businessinsider.com/deadliest-mass-shootings-in-us-history-2017-11

I'm glad to see that the Pope made a statement about the Texas shooting. I am not sure if the following has been posted already,

Pope offers condolences for Texas church shooting
    Associated Press November 7, 2017 http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/11/07/pope-offers-condolences-for-texas-church-shooting.html

VATICAN CITY – Pope Francis has sent a telegram to the archbishop of San Antonio, Texas, to express his condolences for the deadly shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.

The telegram was sent Tuesday by the Vatican's secretary of state, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who said the pope was "deeply grieved by news of the loss of life and grave injuries caused by the act of senseless violence."

The pontiff sent condolences to "the families of the victims and the wounded, to the members of the congregation and the entire local community."

Francis also offered prayers for mourners to "grant them the spiritual strength that triumphs over violence and hatred by the power of forgiveness, hope and reconciling love."

Twenty-six people were killed in Sunday's attack at the Texas church.

  20. REALLY CREEPY........ Hopefully this is not all that accurate.

Scientists are implanting tiny HUMAN brains into rats

Stanford University bioethicist says as the lab rats become more human-like they may one day be 'entitled to some kind of respect'

TINY human brains injected into rats have sparked a major ethical debate among scientists worried it may give the rodents some type of human consciousness.

Esteemed science ethicists claim the experiments might reach a point where the test lab rats will be "entitled to some kind of respect".

Advances in science have allowed experts to connect tiny human brains with that of a rat.

To do this, they created clumps of cells that behave similarly to human brains called organoids.

Several labs have inserted those organoids into rat brains, connected them to blood vessels and successfully grown physical links.

Medical mag Stat reported that when scientists shone a light into a rat's eye or stimulated the brain regions involved in vision, that the neurons in the implanted organoid fired up.

It said: "That suggested the human brain tissue had become functionally integrated with the rat."

Scientists hope this will help us understand brain injuries or treat disease.
But experts warn that the more human brain we implant into rats, the more human-like they will become.

Labs are implanting around three or four organoids in rats for now, but what if they added more?

Stanford bioethicist Hank Greely said: "People are talking about connecting three or four.

"But what if you could connect 1,000? That would be getting close to the number of cells in a mouse brain

"At some future point, it could be that what you've built is entitled to some kind of respect."

Scientists successfully hacked rat brains to control their limbs – making them run, freeze and turn around at the flick of a switch.

Experts at University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences in New York successfully manipulated parts of the brain that control movement like freezing and spinning around, using an invisible magnetic field.
