"My People, how much fire will burn upon you, how much the earth will shake so much, to the point that it will seem like hours to you, how much fear at the arrival of an asteroid that will appear without warning, how water will lash you!"

This reference to a surprise asteroid puzzles me. Is this surprise asteroid also known as a nuclear attack? The reference to water suggests other. If an actual asteroid, perhaps it suddenly appears the more the poles shift. Maybe it results in the aftermath of a nuclear attack, as that would have great affect on the atmosphere etc?

These are just my own thoughts seeking your feedback.

  5. Didn't know they were.....thought that "what's your sign?" question was used decades ago; not something new...haven't progressed much if so.

Why millennials are ditching religion for witchcraft and astrology

When Coco Layne, a Brooklyn-based producer, meets someone new these days, the first question that comes up in conversation isn’t “Where do you live?” or “What do you do?” but “What’s your sign?”

“So many millennials read their horoscopes every day and believe them,” Layne, who is involved in a number of nonreligious spiritual practices, said. “It is a good reference point to identify and place people in the world.”

Interest in spirituality has been booming in recent years while interest in religion plummets, especially among millennials. The majority of Americans now believe it is not necessary to believe in God to have good morals, a study from Pew Research Center released Wednesday found. The percentage of people between the ages of 18 and 29 who “never doubt existence of God” fell from 81% in 2007 to 67% in 2012.

Meanwhile, more than half of young adults in the U.S. believe astrology is a science. compared to less than 8% of the Chinese public. The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. It is now worth $2 billion annually, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World.

Melissa Jayne, owner of Brooklyn-based “metaphysical boutique” Catland, said she has seen a major uptick in interest in the occult in the past five years, especially among New Yorkers in their 20s. The store offers workshops like “Witchcraft 101,” “Astrology 101,” and a “Spirit Seance.”

“Whether it be spell-casting, tarot, astrology, meditation and trance, or herbalism, these traditions offer tangible ways for people to enact change in their lives,” she said. “For a generation that grew up in a world of big industry, environmental destruction, large and oppressive governments, and toxic social structures, all of which seem too big to change, this can be incredibly attractive.”

Like the existence of God, however, there’s no actual scientific proof. Astrology has been debunked by numerous academic studies, but Banu Guler, co-founder of artificial intelligence powered astrology app Co—Star said the lack of structure in the field is exactly what drives young, educated professionals to invest their time and money in the practice.

“It’s very different from the way we usually work and live and date, where everything is hyper-mediated and rational,” she said. “There is a belief vacuum: we go from work to a bar to dinner and a date, with no semblance of meaning. Astrology is a way out of it, a way of putting yourself in the context of thousands of years of history and the universe.”

Case in point: Co—Star’s servers were so overwhelmed by demand after it launched on October 12 that the app crashed three times in its first week.

Astrology isn’t the only spiritual field overwhelmed by demand: Danielle Ayoka, the founder of spiritual subscription service Mystic Lipstick, said her customer base is growing exponentially. The self-described astrologer sells a “mystic box” subscription, which includes crystals, “reiki-infused bath salts,” and incense customized to the unique energy of the current moon cycle for $14.99 a month. She says she’s seen 75% increase in her audience in the past year.

“When I started my journey in 2010, I was the weirdo,” she said. “Now it is becoming more and more normalized, and I believe it is because more people are looking to heal. Millennials are much more open-minded.”

With this overwhelming demand comes a rise of products claiming metaphysical benefits, not all of which take the cultural context of the occult into account, notes Layne. Urban Outfitters sells sage, a product that has its roots in indigenous cleansing ceremonies, for $18 a pop and a crystal mobile for $32.

Actress turned CEO Gwyneth Paltrow sells a variety of spiritual wares on her website, many of which are borrowed or “inspired” by other cultures. A jade egg that costs $66 has its roots in ancient Taoist practice. Her $85 “Goop Medicine Bag” is “inspired by the Shaman’s medicine bag from various indigenous traditions,” and a $59 Tarot card deck features “mystical artwork” that mirrors Native American patterns.

But Layne, whose interest in Eastern medicine is rooted in her Taiwanese heritage, said white women are often able to profit from ancient practices that are not theirs to sell.

“It is really important to give credit to who is doing the work,” Layne said. “There is a whole culture of white women who capitalize off of spirituality, but it all comes from people of color. People need to do their homework: being in touch with your spiritual side is a natural, human thing to do. To be able to connect yourself is essential to healing not only your own wounds, but healing together.”

  7. Here are some Luz messages re: comets, asteroids, etc.:

    Sept. 28, 2017:

Know, My People, that a comet is so, so close to the Earth that it will change its magnetism and man will feel himself dying of terror because of the ignorance of what Our Mercy has been warning you beforehand.

    Sep. 25, 2017:

My Mother has asked Our Trinity that the impact of the meteorite, when falling into the sea, be less so that the coastal areas do not suffer to the uttermost. In the light of this Petition Humanity must pray, and that prayer must not only be verbal, but prayer by acting and working in Our Love. Only and only thus will you minimize this impact.

    Aug. 30, 2017:

Beloved People of My Son, the trials for Humanity continue. The sin that abounds in man and remains on Earth is a point of attraction for Celestial Bodies to approach Earth more frequently. In an instant you will see the moon take on the color of blood, as a notice to Humanity of the proximity of the Warning, about which I have already warned you.

    Our Lord Jesus Christ
    01.21.2016

My beloved people, the waters of the ocean will stir, and in their fury they will invade the land. Volcanoes erupt with great force; the tree that would bear fruit will be like the dry fig tree; the plant you harvested in March will be harvested in September. Rivers will cease being so abundant; the threats from Heaven will be constant. Scientists will warn about celestial bodies that are drawing near to the earth, and so the scientists will be the very ones to corroborate My Word.

    Our Lord Jesus Christ
    12.11.2015

When you see the mountains shake and the plains crack open, when the winds devastate villages in places where this never happened before, when the land shakes where it never shook before, Nature behaves in unusual ways throughout the whole world, and the animals have changed their behavior, the rivers flatten villages where that never happened before, torrential rains undermine the land, inactive volcanoes wake up, asteroids and comets are ever more frequent, thunder and lightning contain increasing power given to them by the contamination with which man has made Nature react uncontrollably.

    Our Blessed Virgin Mary
    03.14.2015

Calamities are happening with more strength and more continuity, so much so that a nation will not be able to help another nation. The volcanoes awaken; Nature does not recognize the man who does not act in agreement with the Divine Will. The oceans will move invading the lands, washing away the sins that man has spilled on the land. The sun will dim and My children will be surprised. Nothing in Nature will ever again be like in the past.

It seems unfair that when the asteroid hits the sea it will be the coastal cites that go. But think about the morality in the coastal cites and you may understand.

  10. Hi Padraig!

If it would make you feel any better the messages say that there won't be a spot that goes without some kind of purification.....earthquakes, volcanoes, terror....so there will be a "fairness" in suffering. And our Lord also recently said that due to prayers and sacrifices/intercession by His Mother that a meteorite's force into the sea has been mitigated for the coastlines of the region. So our prayers through our Mother can still mitigate things hopefully:

My Mother has asked Our Trinity that the impact of the meteorite, when falling into the sea, be less so that the coastal areas do not suffer to the uttermost. In the light of this Petition Humanity must pray, and that prayer must not only be verbal, but prayer by acting and working in Our Love. Only and only thus will you minimize this impact.

Yes, no matter how much some might wish they simply can not extinguish the desire in their heart for God. So people have denied the truth of the power of God and erected others in His place.

Instead of teaching people about the supernatural people are ridiculed as superstitious. This drives many people away from the Truth. We need a lot more like Father Ripperger and Father Heilman IMO to instruct people.

If one believes that there is a spiritual battle raging around us then they should rightly be instructed in the ways, armor and weapons needed to combat it.

Power to the people: 2 Italy regions to hold autonomy votes
    By COLLEEN BARRY, Associated Press
VERONA, Italy – It is greater autonomy __ not independence __ that two of Italy's wealthiest regions are seeking in a pair of referendums Sunday, yet Catalonia's secessionist ambitions in nearby Spain loom large over the debate.

The presidents of Lombardy and Veneto in northern Italy are campaigning on the economic benefits of loosening Rome's grip. But identity politics is also playing a role, particularly in Veneto, where a political fringe has never given up on secession, even though that's been long abandoned by the governing right-wing Northern League.

Both regional leaders emphasize the legal nature of the referendums approved by Italy's constitutional court, in contrast to the Catalan referendum.

Still, the autonomy drives are threat to Rome's authority. Together, Veneto and Lombardy account for 30 percent of Italy's GDP and nearly one-quarter of Italy's electorate.

Catalonia's push for independence from Spain: What to know
    By Kaitlyn Schallhorn, Fox News

The Spanish central government moved Saturday to invoke a never-before used constitutional article that would strip Catalonia of its autonomous power, calling it a last resort to "restore order."

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said he wants his Senate to give him direct power to dissolve the regional Catalan government and to call an early election as soon as possible. The Senate is likely to approve Rajoy's request.

Rajoy’s Cabinet met in a special meeting Saturday morning to approve measures to take direct control of the Catalan region under Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution.

Rajoy proposed the powers of Catalan officials be taken over by central government ministers.

The meeting came almost three weeks after a controversial referendum seeking the region’s independence which was ruled illegal by the country’s Supreme Court.

Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont has argued the referendum result gave him the mandate to move forward with independence.

    What is Catalonia?

Located in the northeast region of Spain, Catalonia is largely independent with its own culture and language. It’s one of the richest and most industrialized areas of the country with a heavy emphasis on manufacturing, according to the BBC.

The region, which includes Barcelona, is home to about 7.5 million people.

Valuing its autonomy, Catalonia has its own parliament and executive, called “Generalitat” in its language.

"What's being contested between Spain and Catalonia ... is different visions of what defending democracy looks like."

    Why do they want independence?
Because of its own cultural identity, those in favor of Catalan independence have pushed for the region to become separate from Spain. Supporters also believe that they have given more to the Spanish government than they have gotten back.

The push for independence “raises questions of the future of democracy and democratic rule,” Pamela Radcliff, a University of California, San Diego professor and modern Spain historian, told Fox News. “What’s being contested between Spain and Catalonia, one of the things is different visions of what defending democracy looks like.”

TOP EU OFFICIALS RALLY BEHIND SPANISH PM OVER CATALAN POLL

The push for independence is led by Puigdemont, the president of Catalonia. The region held a referendum on Oct. 1.

    How did the vote go?
About 90 percent of the 2.3 million people who cast votes chose independence, Catalan officials said of the disputed referendum. However, fewer than half of eligible voters participated.

About 900 people were treated for injuries after voting turned violent when Catalan civilians and Spanish police clashed earlier this month.

Andrew Dowling, an expert in Catalan history at Cardiff University in Wales, said that any independence declaration by the Catalan parliament would be symbolic without border and institutional control and no international support.

Such a declaration "will see the fracture between hardliners and the pragmatic people in Catalonia who are already seeing an economic fallout," Dowling told The Associated Press.

    What has been Spain’s response?
Spain's top court declared the independence referendum illegal.

Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria accused Puigdemont of putting the Catalan people “in the greatest level of uncertainty seen yet.”

And Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said the referendum was part of a strategy “to impose independence that few want and is good for nobody.”

CATALONIA VOTERS PROTEST AGAINST VIOLENT POLICE TACTICS AFTER INDEPENDENCE VOTE

Rajoy has reportedly refused help from outside civil-society groups and lawyers to mediate negotiations between the two factions. He has also declined to engage in talks with Catalan leaders.

“There is no possible mediation between democratic law and disobedience and unlawfulness,” Rajoy said.

Spain had given Puigdemont two deadlines – which have come and gone – on whether the independence referendum is serious.

Radcliff said that “it’s very possible” that neither side has “much incentive to compromise.”

    What is Article 155?
Spain has threatened to invoke a clause of its constitution should Catalonia forge ahead with its plans to secede from the country that would take away the region’s autonomy.

A refusal to backtrack from its independence threats would trigger Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution, the government has said, which would allow central authorities to take over control of any of the country’s 17 regions. It’s a provision that hasn’t been used in the four decades since democracy was restored in the European nation.

An English translation of the constitution states that should an autonomous community break the law or disregard the constitution, the Spanish government can – after following certain procedures – “take the measures necessary in order to compel the [community] forcibly to meet said obligations, or in order to protect [Spain’s] general interests.”

Rajoy's cabinet met in a special meeting Saturday morning to approve measures to take direct control of the Catalan region under Article 155.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

We lived in the Veneto region for a while. The people tried to find ways to avoid paying taxes that would go to Rome way back then. They thought Rome would just waste it all....kinda like what we think of Wash. D.C. So a lot of factories just kind of disappeared! A lot of things disappeared...by double accounting! And way up north they used to still fly the Austrian flag....and refused to speak Italian in some places. Suppose people want to keep what they have, no longer trusting the glitzy cities and their more global, wasteful ways.

Apparently after Turkish body guards of Erdogan attacked protesters while in the US severely beating some of them, the administration has finally taken some action. Issuing arrest warrants for some of the body guards involved with the attacks. Turkey in turn has arrested two US consulate staff in Turkey and charged them with crimes relating to the fake coup earlier this year. These attacks were barely covered by the media.

Ramping up rhetoric, Turkey's Erdogan chastises U.S. over democracy

By Dirimcan Barut and Tulay Karadeniz

ISTANBUL/ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan showed no retreat from a diplomatic row with the United States on Saturday, castigating Washington for what he said an "undemocratic" indictment against his security detail.

His comments may further dash hopes of a quick resolution to an on-going diplomatic crisis between the NATO allies. Both Ankara and Washington have cut back issuing visas to each other's citizens as ties have worsened.

"They say the United States is the cradle of democracy. This can't be true. This can't be democracy," Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul.

"If arrest warrants are issued against my bodyguards in absentia ... in the United States, where I went upon invitation, excuse me but I will not say this is a civilized country."

A U.S. grand jury in August indicted 15 Turkish security officials over a brawl between protesters and Erdogan's security personnel during the Turkish president's visit to Washington in May. Erdogan has said the indictment was not binding for Ankara.

The row deepened after Turkish authorities arrested two U.S. consular staff, both Turkish nationals. In May, a translator at the consulate in the southern province of Adana was arrested and two weeks ago a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) worker was detained in Istanbul.

Both are accused of links to last year' failed coup. The U.S. embassy has said the accusations are baseless.

Turkish police want to question a third worker based in Istanbul. His wife and daughter were detained this month last week over alleged links to the network of U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, blamed by Ankara for orchestrating the abortive putsch. They were later released.

    COUP, KURDISH MILITIA

Turkey has been angered by what it sees as U.S. reluctance to hand over the cleric Gulen, who has lived in Pennsylvania since 1999. U.S. officials have said its courts require sufficient evidence to order his extradition.

Turkey has also been enraged by Washington's support for the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia in the fight against Islamic State. Turkey regards the YPG as an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

On Saturday, the U.S. embassy issued statement reiterating its stance on the PKK and its jailed leader, Abdullah Ocalan, in an apparent response to criticism from Erdogan.

"The U.S. government works together with Turkey in the fight against terrorism and maintenance of stability in the region," it said on Twitter. "The PKK is listed among foreign terror organizations. Ocalan has been jailed in Turkey for his actions related to the PKK. He is not a person to be respected."

On Friday, Erdogan criticized the United States over a huge banner of jailed Kurdish militant leader Abdullah Ocalan unfurled in Syria's Raqqa by U.S.-backed Kurdish forces. The banner was raised at a ceremony to mark Raqqa's capture from Islamic State in a campaign spearheaded by the YPG.

"How can the U.S. explain the poster of Ocalan in Raqqa? Is this the way they are cooperating with us in the struggle against terror?" Erdogan said. "You are not standing by us against terrorism."

Ocalan has been in jail in Turkey since 1999 on a treason conviction. More than 40,000 people, most of them Kurds, have died in the fighting since the PKK took up arms against the state in 1984.

The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by the United States, Turkey and the European Union.
