Updated 3 mins ago LAS VEGAS, Nevada (KTRK) -- Police say "in excess" of 50 people were killed when a gunman shot into a crowded music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, making it the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. At this time there is in excess of 50 deceased and over 200 injured individuals. — LVMPD (@LVMPD) October 2, 2017 Las Vegas Metro police identified 64-year-old Stephen Paddock as the gunman in the mass shooting. Police located Paddock on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino after the barrage of shots were fired Sunday night. It was there where the gunman was found dead most likely of a self-inflicted gunshot, according to police. Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Paddock is believed to be the lone shooter. Police said he lived in Mesquite, Nevada, which is located outside of Las Vegas. Independent research showed Paddock once lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Police located a woman identified as Paddock's companion and a person of interest in the case. Police said the woman is out of the country and not believed to be part of the shooting. ABC News spoke with the shooter's brother, Eric Paddock, who said there was no indication or reason that they know of for this to happen. More than 400 people were sent to local hospitals from the festival grounds. Police estimated more than 22,000 people were in attendance at the Route 91 music festival, where the victims were gunned down. Among those killed were two off-duty officers attending the concert, said Lombardo. An officer working at the event was critically injured and another was wounded, according to the sheriff. Police stated the city's largest hospital, University Medical Center, is at capacity with other trauma units taking in the overflow. Fleeing attendees were also being picked up on buses and being sent to UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center arena for shelter. Video from festival attendees showed hundreds of people fleeing the area. The shooting took place as country artist Jason Aldean performed on stage. ABC News reported people were fleeing to the nearby airfield at McCarran Airport as the chaos took place. Witnesses reported hearing possibly hundreds of shots fired in rapid succession. Multiple ambulances were flooding the area to help victims. In addition, blood banks are looking for people to donate blood as hospitals are filled with the wounded. The authorities are still sorting out if it is Islamic terrorism or not. They also do not know a motive as yet.
Pres Trump just now on TV with his speech. He quoted the Scripture about the Lord being close to the broken hearted, he is talking about praying for the wounded and the dead. He is asking that God bless us and give us the strength to carry on. He must have mentioned God about 10 times. I am extremely heartened by this, and I am sure that people will vilify him for it, but so be it. almost 11 am, EDT Last night before I went to sleep, I was prompted to pray for the souls who would die that day. I thought it was late at night, but I did it anyway. If anyone doubts that the Holy Spirit prompts us........
Me too HH, as well as those putting their lives at risk for others. There are reports that many military were in the crowds last night who helped others to safety between rounds of fire. God bless them and everyone who is affected by this tragedy. It will take a few days to sort out the truth of this. I have already read ISIS is taking responsibility for it, claiming that the shooter was a recent convert to Islam. Who knows what the truth is at this point besides senseless killing and heartache for a great many people.
There is NO evidence ISIS is involved besides them claiming responsibility. Police have searched home and found nothing suspicious. ISIS is completely on the run right now and losing bad. It does not surprise me they would take responsibility for this to stay relevant.
Just to include other reportage: CAIRO, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a shooting that killed at least 50 people and wounded over 400 in Las Vegas early on Monday, and said the attacker had converted to Islam a few months ago. "The Las Vegas attack was carried out by a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried it out in response to calls to target states of the coalition," the group's news agency Amaq said in reference to the U.S.-led coalition fighting the group in the Middle East. "The Las Vegas attacker converted to Islam a few months ago," Amaq added. (Reporting by Ali Abdelaty; Writing by Arwa Gaballa; Editing by Ahmed Aboulenein) http://news.trust.org/item/20171002142139-okyax 1) BREAKING: #ISIS' Amaq claims #LasVegas shooting. Surprising as it sounds, statement issued on legit primary source. https://twitter.com/siteintelgroup/status/914854178798874624 … http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/201...tack-says-suspect-converted-islam-months-ago/ Authorities though are saying that there is no connection to ISIS. Since he had been at the hotel since Sep. 28 it would appear that he was meticulously planning this attack. His brother said "where in the hell did he get the machine guns?.....that he had no machine guns"
I never said there was but it does make sense that they would chime in. My money is on ANTIFA militant ties. But, we will see.
64 year old white male living in a retirement community, i doubt it. this is just strange, we will wait and see
ISIS Doubles Down On Vegas Attack Responsibility After FBI Denial — Warn Those Who Reject Claim Will “Regret” It According to terrorism analyst Rita Katz, ISIS appears to be “doubling down on its claim,” as the perpetrators of the attack. 7) #ISIS appears to be doubling down on its claim for #LasVegasas Amaq statements being further disseminated in different languages. pic.twitter.com/ecTVGjvclM 8) Not clear if promise for proof or threat, but pro-#ISIS message states that those saying it "has nothing to do" w attack will "regret" it pic.twitter.com/TRtBXjIwMU 7) #ISIS appears to be doubling down on its claim for #LasVegas as Amaq statements being further disseminated in different languages. pic.twitter.com/ecTVGjvclM 11:13 AM - Oct 2, 2017 http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/201...responsibility-warn-reject-claim-will-regret/
I am very skeptical this is even a real event. For me the evidence will have to prove it true. One guy shooting almost 600 people from a balcony a block away. Yeah right. They claimed it was a single shooter before the event was even investigated. Sure sign of false flag. The whole ISIS thing is nonsense. They just make that up and say ISIS said that, like anyone could verify such a thing. No situation like this gets a free pass as true anymore. They have done more false flags than there have been actual real events. 100% false flags....9/11, Sandy Hook, Boston Bombing, Virginia interviewer shooting - this one all but wiped from net after proven faked.... etc. If you buy what they are selling without question, please research Sandy Hook, if you believe SH was a real event after digging into the evidence on both sides then you are one trusting soul. I do pray for all involved and any victims if real.
Good for them. THey are becoming irrelevant as they lose almost all the land they gained over the last 5 years. So they are desperate. I will trust our FBI until there is some real proof.
Vegas gunman’s ‘psychopath’ dad landed on FBI’s most-wanted list The father of Las Vegas madman Stephen Paddock was a “psychopath” himself — a bank robber who escaped federal prison in the late 1960s and landed on the FBI’s most-wanted list, according to reports. Paddock’s dad was serial felon Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, according to the Daily Mail and a tweet from NBC. Benjamin Paddock had been locked up in 1960 for robbing an Arizona bank, escaped in 1968 and spent nearly three years on the run before the FBI caught up to him in Las Vegas in 1971, at which point he tried to run down an agent with his car, according to archival editions of the Tuscon Daily Citizen. “Since he has utilized firearms in previous crimes, has employed violence in attempting to evade arrest and has been diagnosed as being psychopathic, [Benjamin] Paddock should be considered extremely dangerous,” Palmer M. Baken Jr., agent in charge of the Phoenix FBI office, said at the time, according to the Citizen. http://nypost.com/2017/10/02/vegas-gunmans-psychopath-dad-landed-on-fbis-most-wanted-list/
So you are telling me my sister-in-law who was at the Boston Marathon is lying to me? have you seen the 2 dozen or more videos on Twitter that started last night just before 11pm local? This is crazy and completely disrespectful to the victims families. I thought you were done with this bs, have not seen you post it in a while
I had the same prompting HH. I knew nothing about this tragedy until I got to Mass this morning. But I did pray last night before bed for for those who would die. Also at Mass yesterday for those who would die that day. The Holy Spirit!!! Hopefully there were many more of us.
Yes, I was compelled to pray for the souls in most need of our Lord's mercy, didn't know about the travesty until today.
I can see how one can become cynical about the MSM but hard to see how any of these tragedies were staged. There is a woman who writes regularly for Magnificat who lost her six year old daughter at Sandy Hook. It is an insult to their grief to call it a false flag.
