Yes. Perhaps. Although we have some good bishops who are upholding the Catholic faith. Just not a lot of support from the pews it would seem. And an awful lot of "sunshine soldiers" in the hierarchy. Much prayer needed!! Much much much prayer. Maybe Northern Ireland's staunch protection of babies and marriage will win much grace for the whole island.
Well, the interesting thing with the Bishops in the US is that where you would think they would all be very liberal is not always the case. Being near Seattle one would think this for instance however our Parish is anything but. We are very near to military facilities however and the congregation is made up of many of their ranks. I do not know enough however to comment on our Bishop. Across the US the ones that seem to be adopters of every worldly tradition do seem to get the most attention but this does not necessarily mean that they have the support of their congregations from what I have read. The Protestants in Ireland must be much more conservative than here in the US to be leading this charge. That's all I should say about that.

If it isn't too intrusive to ask Padraig what do you receive in prayer on PF. This is such an excruciating dilemma for a faithful Catholic. I pray for him and I strive to love him as Vicar of Christ but I can't listen to him or read him. It distresses my soul. Padraig, although I have reservations about Pope Francis, to put it mildly (but I share the misgivings of many about being too critical) and I detest the misuse of that good old word 'gay', I consider this a misinterpretation of his words by the sodomists, not unlike those who twist Our Lord's words about casting the first stone. The key phrase in the Pope's statement is 'of good will'. A Catholic can only honestly interpret that to mean one who is determined to completely resist his inclinations and to not engage in the actions tempted by those inclinations. To me, the most irritating piece of propaganda in the picture is 'Right Side of History'. Those who know next to nothing of history actually claim to be able to read the future. Is it not the case that if one claims to have knowledge of the future that isn't coming from God, it can only come from the demonic side? In reality, these sodomites are only dupes for a New World Order that will throw them to the wolves as soon as they come to outlive their usefulness (I have heard that even the devils of Hell despise sodomy, although using it for their own purposes).
