Yes, the back door of subjectivity that padraig refers us to as well as the wholesale attack on all that is mystery which is another indication of the sign of the times within the church.

It is somewhat amusing however the ways in which so called rationalism becomes very subjective when it is applied to social issues which are popular among the elites of our world.

Meanwhile, the world at large embraces mystery but in another form. Just look at all the TV programming for ghost hunting. Here in the US it is all over the cable stations along with alien/UFO programming. The adoption of Eastern mysticism is clearly seen even at our highest places of searching for rational truth like the Cern large hadron collider.



As Pontius Pilate himself asked Our Lord; Truth? What is truth?

The truth sounds like hate to those who hate truth.

There was a time... (this is the second occasion I've used that phrase today)...when I thought the grace of conversion through the instrument of the Charismatic Renewal would sweep through the Church like a powerful tempest. There was a time... when I thought Our Lady's admonitions would turn the secular tide sweeping through the world. There was a time...when I thought the Church would be tested to her utter limits in the distant future.

Fortunately, I struck out on three pitches, because as Mark Mallett stresses in his latest blog... The time is now...for each of us to unflinchingly step out and do our part whether or not the world consents. Something tells me she won't.

St. Joan of Arc, though alone in your conviction, you relentlessly pursued and achieved your mission: Charles on the throne of France. Pray that each of us are similarly convicted that God will bring about what He gives us to do because He wills it so!

Safe in the Divine Will!

 

I am shocked with the speed of things unfolding. Yes we are here now right at the verge. I think we all begin to hear from Medjugorje soon on the secrets. That is my hope that Our Lady will guide us.

 

My son and I watched the Lord of the Rings series over several evenings last week, finishing a few days ago. It struck me how prophetic it is for our times. The ones fighting evil truly thought they were going to their death, but they went into battle anyway. I think that's how we also have to be. Little hobbits carrying our swords into battle, hoping our nerve won't fail us if we end up having to kill an orc.

 

Our family too have watched all the series and I bring this struggle of good vs evil to them throughout the film and apply it to today. Canada is leading the nations amongst the evils of this world openly now. Let us keep Mark, his family and all of Canada in prayer as it seems certain they will lead in the degradation of the worlds decadency along with the US and most of the west. Seems to be nothing to stop it now aside from our Triune God, the Mother of God and the cooperation of the angles and saints in heaven and the faithful remnant on earth. Help us Lord to discern your will each and every day.

Yes, and it seems, at least for me, the time has past to pretend that our hierarchy is leading us in truth. Confusion does not come form God. Half truths do not come from God. Contradiction to what has always been taught from scripture and the truth magisterium is not from God. If we don't see the diabolical deception by now, we will not see it later. Come Lord Jesus, come.

I recall when at the end of the Republican convention last year, Trump pulled out a rainbow flag. And so he straddles the fence. Preserving his base with a strong pro-life message , he reaches out to the liberals with a godless, anti-family agenda. So who is left in the West- Poland and a few Latin America countries. Within the Church, the ranks of prelates standing firm on natural law are wavering and the LGBT agenda gains ground.

Today, we celebrate the early martyrs of Rome who were blamed by Nero for the fire which destroyed part of Rome. They gave up earthly life out of love for Jesus Christ. Let's ask for their prayers that we in the trenches, soon to be blamed for who knows what, will remain faithful to the Gospel, also.

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

 

A couple of weeks ago my mother attended a funeral, at which were also present many of the current Irish government ministers including our new Taoiseach (prime minister) who is very publicly homosexual and has a male partner. All of these ministers not only publicly support same sex marriage, but are also aggressively backing the removal of the 8th amendment in order to pave the way for unlimited abortion in Ireland. My mother watched as each one of them went up and received Holy Communion - not one of them was turned away.

What message do our priests send out by offering sacrilegious communions to public figures who are openly in direct conflict with Church teachings? They are basically saying that you can support abortion and gay marriage, even be an openly practicing homosexual, and still be in full communion with the church. It is an absolute disgrace and sacrilege. I don't know how Ireland has not yet been obliterated from the face of the earth, it can only be for the prayers and sacrifices of the few remnant faithful and the blood of so many martyrs that is holding back the hand of God's justice.

 

Padraig, what movie is that clip taken from? I want to watch the whole thing because it seems to me so authentic.

 

I recognise the actor in the movie. It was called 'Jesus of Nazareth.' I had the video box set because it was in two parts, and is my all time favourite movie about the life of Jesus.
I hope someone can find a link to the movie in UTube, as I would love to watch it again. Our old video does not work any more.

 

[The message of anti Mercy and the anti Gospel is predominantly horizontal, it misses the whole point, Christ. We hear more and more of mercy, compassion, humility, fraternity, the poor, and creation, but Buddhism can speak about the same! Where is Christ proclaimed in all this? I miss Him. Without Christ, any virtue, no matter how good, becomes dull, mere estoic voluntarism. Here is the message of true mercy:

No problem! We don't have cable, we just use online streaming or Netflix and choose what we want. No way am I paying cable for the filth that fills their channels now. We are very selective of what we watch and I can't stand commercials! Maybe we should start a list of 'good' tv shows to watch if anyone is interested...

 

This is so true. "They" speak of mercy, but not the mercy that scripture and the true magisterium teaches, which is connected to the truth of the Triune God. It is a fake mercy, because it involves mercy towards those who do not repent of their grievous sins. It is a fake mercy, because it seeks to mock God's commandments. They have used all the words of compassion without having compassion for the unchanging truths of God. Most, it seems, are completely buying into the false mercy and false compassion. We can expect the persecution of the truth and its followers to continue in the cross of Christ.

 

That's a great idea.

Once this happened, I knew quality cable and network tv was long gone.

Sesame Street Announces New Transgender Character

New York, NY — The Sesame Workshop, formerly known as the Children’s Television Workshop, announced that its flagship program Sesame Street will feature its first transgender character for the 2017 season. The character, who only has a project name of “Brunny” at the time of this writing, will join Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street characters to discuss important issues of the day, according to staff writers.

“Sesame Street has a long commitment to multiculturalism and diversity,” said Sesame Workshop Director of Communications Bethany Millbright reading from a prepared statement. “So as you might imagine, adding a transgender character to our huge cast of diverse Muppets was a no-brainer. We understand that there will be some who don’t understand this addition, but Sesame Street has long been a vanguard of children’s television and we believe history is on our side.”

According to a draft sketch of the new and arguably controversial character, Brunny will be a bunny-like animal who spent its formidable years being homeless, but through the help of others managed to get back on track. Brunny will be large and second only in size to Big Bird.

The announcement immediately drew fire from conservative congressional members who see this as another attempt by the media to indoctrinate children.

“It just defies common sense,” said Missouri Republican Vicky Hartzler who represents the State’s 4th District and has proposed several anti-LGBT laws. “It’s like allowing a 3-year-old to drive a car. If we allow a transgender puppet to be in front of our children every day, they’re going to begin to think that’s normal. And we all know this is a part of the gay agenda. You know how this falls into place. If you just care about somebody and you have a committed relationship, why not allow one man and two women, or three women to marry? Why not allow an uncle to marry his niece? Why not allow a 50-year-old man to marry a 12-year-old girl if they love each other and they’re committed? And allowing this thing onto Sesame Street is just a way of creeping this agenda into commonplace.”

Representative Hartzler went on to say that she would be introducing a bill to not only cut Sesame Workshop’s funding to zero, but she was also going to include wording to pull the programing off the air given this latest development
