(Jerusalem) Abuna Nirwan is a Franciscan from Iraq. Before his ordination he had completed a medical examination. When he went to the Holy Land in 2004, the Dominican Women of the Rosary gave him a relic and a rosary from their founder, which Father Nirwan always carries with him.

The Dominican Women of the Rosary, a missionary order, were founded by Maria Alfonsina Danil Ghattas, a Palestinian Catholic who was born in 1843 in Jerusalem, which was still part of the Ottoman Empire. At a young age, she joined a French religious order, but in 1880, according to a vision, she founded her own order for Arab girls. The missionary community, now spread in eight countries of the Middle East, is the only order founded by the Latin Patriarchy, which was reestablished in 1847 in Jerusalem.
In 2009 Maria Alfonsina Danil Ghattas was beatified in Nazareth's preaching base. On May 17, 2015, she was canonized by Pope Francis. Her liturgical commemoration day is the 25th of March, when she died in 1927 in A Karim near Jerusalem (then the British League of Nations Mandate for Palestine).
When Benedict XVI in 2009, had ordered the investigation for a miracle for the Beatification of the religious, as usual, he ordered the Exhumation of the Corpse. The local bishop instructs a doctor. With the exhumation of the body of Maria Alfonsina Danil Ghattas, Father Nirwan was commissioned because of his training, and he also wrote the medical report.

As the Spanish Opus Dei priest Santiago Quemada, who lived in Jerusalem, reported on his blog Un sacerdote en Tierra Santa (A Priest in the Holy Land), two years before, extraordinary events had taken place. The report by Quemada has now been taken up by various media.
What was reported occurred on July 14, 2007. Abuna Nirwan, who had been working in the Holy Land for three years, paid a visit to his family in Iraq. In Jordan, he got in a taxi, as he explained it in spring 2016 in the sermon in the almost completely Christian Palestinian town of Beit Jalla near Bethlehem.
"It was not then possible to visit my family by plane. That was forbidden. As a means of transport, therefore, only the car could be considered. My intention was to get to Baghdad and from there to Mosul where my parents lived.

The driver was frightened because of the situation that prevailed in Iraq. A family - father and mother with a two-year-old girl - had asked if they could go with me. The taxi driver told me they had asked him to. I had no objection. They were Muslims. The driver was a Christian. He told them that there was room and they could come along. We stopped at a gas station, where another young Muslim asked if he could go to Mossul. Since there was still room, we also took him.
The border between Jordan and Iraq was closed until the morning. As the sun rose, the roadblock opened and the 50 or 60 vehicles were slowly moving in succession.
We continued our journey. After more than an hour we came to a checkpoint. We made our passports ready and stopped. The driver said, 'I am afraid of this group'. It was a military control post. However, as it turned out, an Islamic terrorist organization had killed the soldiers and taken control of the position.
When we were at the checkpoint, our passports were checked while we stayed in the car. Then they left with the passports. A person came back and said to me: 'Father, we need to continue to review. You can come to the office.' "Well," I said, "if we are to come, we'll come." We then walked a quarter of an hour, until we came to a barrack, which had been directed to us.
Once there, two men with hooded faces came out. One had a video camera in one hand and a knife in the other. The other held a Koran in his hand. They came to us, and one of them asked me, 'Father, where are you from?' I said, from Jordan. Then he repeated the question to the driver. Finally, he turned to the young man who traveled with us, grabbed him from behind and killed him with a knife. We were frozen. They tied my hands behind me and said to me, 'Father, we are recording everything for Al Jazeera . Do you want to say something? But no more than a minute.' I said, "No, I just want to pray." They let me pray for a minute.
Then a man pushed me down to my knees and said, 'You are a priest. It is forbidden for your blood to fall to the ground, that would be a sacrilege.' He fetched a bucket and came to cut my throat. I no longer know what prayers I prayed at this moment. I was very afraid. Then I said to Maria Alfonsina: 'If it is so, that the Lord takes me away, I am ready. But if that is not so, I ask you that no one else will die."
The man grabbed my head and guided his knife with the other hand. Then nothing happened. After a moment of silence, he said, 'Who are you?' I replied, 'A religious brother.' Then he said, 'Why can I not manage to set the knife? Who are you?'
Without answering, he left me and said, 'Father, you and all the others, return to the car.'
We did that and were able to continue the journey.
Since that moment, I have ceased to be afraid of death. I know I will die one day, but now I am really aware that this will be when God wants it. Since then, I am no longer afraid of anything and nobody. What happens to me will be done according to God's will. He will give me the strength to take His cross. What counts is faith. God accepts those who believe in Him."

Catholic parish hosts gay dance party for Lady Gaga’s LGBT charity. Seriously
    Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

June 2, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – Blessed Sacrament Church in the Archdiocese of New York has announced that its “Gay Fellowship” group will be partnering with Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way Foundation” to hold a fundraising dance in the parish hall.

John Gasdaska with 'husband' Wright Moore
According to promotional materialsdisplayed on the parish website, the event, which is styled a “dance party,” is called “Moving With the Spirit,” and will feature “cocktails, cabaret, silent auction, and dancing.” It is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17.

The parish’s “Gay Fellowship” is headed by John Gasdaska, a man who “married” his homosexual partner in 2016 in an Episcopal church. Blessed Sacrament’s administration organized a celebration of Gasdaska’s “marriage” soon after the “wedding,” openly publicizing the event in the parish bulletin.

The money raised by the dance will be used to fund the activities of two homosexualist organizations: the Born this Way Foundation and the Ali Forney Center. It will also raise money for Blessed Sacrament’s “outreach to the poor.”

Carl Siciliano, executive director of the Ali Forney Center, will be present at the dance. Siciliano is a former Catholic monk and self-declared “gay” man who holds that it is “child abuse” and “homophobia” to teach children the Catholic Church’s condemnation of homosexual behavior. He has even produced a video called “Not a Sin” to promote this thesis, in which he claims, “I love my Church, but I’m ashamed at the way it’s hurting children with its teachings.”

John Gasdaska 'marries' partner in Episcopal church
“Teaching that homosexuality is evil is rooted in human ignorance and human bigotry,” says Siciliano. “It’s not from God.”

The Ali Forney Center is named after an adolescent drug addict whose career as a petty criminal and transvestite prostitute led to his admission to a group home at age 13, and ultimately his decision to live in the streets, where he was finally shot in the head at age 23, still engaged in prostitution. The Center offers shelter to teens who identify as “LGBTQ” and seeks to give them “pride and security in their LGBTQ identities,” even going so far as to provide them with transsexual “hormone therapy” as well as contraception.

The Born this Way Foundation was created by the singer “Lady Gaga,” who is known for her lurid exhibitionist performances. The name of her organization is the title of a song in which she sings, “No matter gay, straight, or bi, Lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track baby, I was born to survive.”

The pastor of Blessed Sacrament, Fr. John Duffell, who will also attend the dance, is a friend of Lady Gaga who has reportedly counseled seminary candidates to lie about their same-sex attraction to get into seminaries.

A request for comment from Cardinal Timothy Dolan and his director of communications, Joseph Zwilling, was not answered by press time.

The Catholic Church condemns all forms of sexual behavior outside of natural sexual intercourse between a man and a woman united in marriage, and warns that those who die unrepentant of such sins will suffer eternal damnation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.”

The Holy See also teaches that it is the “duty” of Catholics to oppose homosexual unions, even when they have been legalized, declaring in 2003: “In those situations where homosexual unions have been legally recognized or have been given the legal status and rights belonging to marriage, clear and emphatic opposition is a duty. One must refrain from any kind of formal cooperation in the enactment or application of such gravely unjust laws and, as far as possible, from material cooperation on the level of their application. In this area, everyone can exercise the right to conscientious objection.”

Is the Archdiocese of New York dominated by a ‘homosexual mafia’?
Under the leadership of Cardinal Dolan, the Archdiocese of New York has become ever more involved with homosexual activism that openly contradicts Catholic doctrine on human sexuality and even celebrates behavior that the Church condemns as deeply sinful and “intrinsically disordered.” Dolan himself has made a number of public statements casting doubt on his own beliefs regarding homosexual behavior.

In 2014, Dolan publicly congratulatedprofessional football player Michael Sam for declaring himself to be a homosexual. “Good for him,” Cardinal Dolan replied. “I would have no sense of judgment on him. God bless ya.” He added that “the same Bible that tells us, that teaches us about the virtues of chastity and the virtue of fidelity and marriage also tells us not to judge people. So, I would say ‘Bravo.'” The cardinal’s spokesman later claimed that he wasn’t endorsing homosexual behavior.

Dolan has also openly endorsed the inclusion of homosexual organizations in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, calling the decision “a wise one.”

In 2015, a scandal involving a priest of the Archdiocese of New York in a sadomasochistic relationship with a male prostitute exploded in the mainstream media after officials of the archdiocese repeatedly ignored complaints from parishioners about the priest’s objectionable conduct. Numerous anonymous sources have reportedly told the Catholic activist organization Church Militant that high officials of the archdiocese act as protectors of homosexual clergy, particularly Msgr. Greg Mustaciolo, who is himself accused of being the ringleader of a “homosexual mafia” in the archdiocese.

Special thanks to Catholic activist Joseph Sciambra, who broke this story in two different blog posts, which can be found here and here.

What I can never understand is why gay people demand Church approval for their self obsessed desire to idolise the urge of the flesh.

This is nothing to do with the love spoken of in the Gospels. I am sick to the back teeth of demonised human beings trying to walk slip shod over what God has clearly defined as disgusting.

Gay people have a free choice to make hay while the sun shines, and do what they want to do while on earth. But they have to be told the truth, they need to stay in chastity if they do not want to burn in hell or a very long time in purgatory if they do not repent. And we who should know better will end up in hell or purgatory along with them for a very long time if we do not warn them their behaviour makes God want to vomit.

I was surprised to read that air flight was effected. It may be all settled down now but it's something to keep an eye if anyone will be flying in that area.

Check out the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) (https://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/index.php) It will keep you up-to-date on volcanic activity up there.

The airspace between Russia and Alaska is very heavily travelled, as it's the shortest route from northern Europe to Asia. Volcanic ash is VERY hazardous to air traffic, as a good portion of ash, especially at higher elevations, is silica dust -- basically powdered glass. If a jet engine sucks in volcanic ash it can destroy the engine. To quote from the AVO website:

On December 15, 1989, a Boeing 747 flying 240 kilometers (150 miles) northeast of Anchorage encountered an ash cloud erupted from Redoubt Volcano and lost power in all four jet engines. The plane, with 231 passengers aboard, lost more than 3,000 meters (~9,800 feet) of elevation before the flight crew was able to restart the engines (Casadevall, 1994). After landing, it was determined the airplane had suffered about $80 million in damage (Brantley, 1990).

Check the AVO website for updates and new warnings.

I guess Pope St. John Paul was a "Fanatic" too when he gave us the clear teachings of the Church in the Catholic Catechism! Once again, calling people names in order to silence them. Same ol trick. Try and shame a person who upholds God's unchanging truths. Very cunning, like the snake in the garden of Eden. One might bight on this, had any other Pope in the history of the Church suggested such a thing, but no one has until Pope Francis came along and is giving us another Gospel other than what what handed on.

  20. Didn't know exactly where to insert this latest news:

A saint’s brain is stolen and Catholics pray for its return

ROME (RNS) Police set up roadblocks in northern Italy after a thief posing as a pilgrim stole tiny fragments of the brain of John Bosco, one of the country’s most revered saints.

The thief entered the church, named after the 19th century saint in Castelnuovo, near Turin, last Friday (June 2), and left with a glass case containing the relic of the saint, who is also known as Don Bosco.

Devotees often visit the church to pray before the relic kept behind the altar. On Sunday, pilgrims gathered at the Don Bosco Basilica to pray for its return.

“I invite whoever took it to give it back immediately, without any conditions so we can close this painful page and continue to honor the memory of Don Bosco worthily in his birthplace,” said Archbishop Cesare Nosiglia of Turin.

St. John Bosco is venerated for having dedicated his life to helping poor, deprived children. Born in Castelnuovo in 1815, he founded the Salesian religious order. He died in 1888 and was canonized in 1934.

Nosiglia said in a statement the news was something “you never wanted to hear.”

“It makes you think of the profound moral misery of someone who would steal a ‘sign’ that’s been left and conserved for the devotion and the faith of all,” he said.

Police worry the thief may seek a ransom for the return of the saint’s brain and there has also been speculation in the Italian media that it may be used for a satanic rite in which Christian symbols are defiled.

Body parts belonging to saints are often displayed and revered in Catholic churches in Europe. They have also been targeted by thieves. In 2014, a vial of blood from Pope John Paul II was stolen.

The Rev. Moreno Filipetto, a spokesman for the Salesian order in northern Italy, told Vatican Radio: “You can take away a relic of Don Bosco, but you can’t take away Don Bosco from the church or the world.”

Police are continuing their investigation and the public can no longer access the area inside the church where the relic was previously displayed.
