Why are you here? Why do you bother with a forum that you don't buy into? If this forum is in darkness you owe it to yourself to leave now! If I thought that this forum was in a dark alley I would immediately delete my account. Run like a hare away from it! I will give David and FS sound advice and I hope you take me up on it. Since you profoundly disagree with the direction this forum has taken then go and set up your own forum. Both of you have the necessary skill sets and intelligence to do so. Then those who have left the MOG forum for conscientious reasons in the last few years could join your new forum. Choice is a good thing. So give people out there a chance to join a forum where they can buy into the ethos of the forum. Clearly this forum is not meeting your needs in this regard. I think that this is sound advice. Maybe even inspired by the Holy Spirit? I really cannot for the life of me understand why you would want to belong to a forum that annoys you so much, lol!
Because, garabandal, the forum is like the world. It is full of good and bad. Glen's section, for example, on Garabandal has remained untouched by the criticism of the Pope. The forum contains much news about the Church, both good and bad. I also hope to provide information that is helpful for people who haven't 'bought' into the anti-Francis agenda. Maybe Padraig, one day, will ban any post which defends Pope Francis. Then I would go. And maybe he will just get fed up with my posts and ban me anyway. It is his forum so he is entitled to do that also. He still seems to believe in Medjugorje so I hope that one day he will view Pope Francis in a different way.
The best way to do this though would be to set up your own forum. You and FS and others clearly would be able to do this very easily. See my post above. I really believe this in fraternal charity, It is not intended as a criticism of you David as I consider you a gentleman!
Padraig's forum has been very successful, in my view, by allowing opposing views to be expressed fairly freely. Creating a similarly successful forum would be very difficult! If you have a forum with everyone agreeing, it tends to die from boredom!

The Fathers of the Church speak on this. Satan rebelled, as far as we can tell from their analysis and from scripture, because he wanted to be God, not serve God. None of the angels ever saw God, before the great "test." They were shown Jesus and told they would help Him and his followers, protect them, serve them. Pride made it impossible for Satan to do so. He took a third of the angels with him, so the Fathers tell us. John Milton's famous quote from Paradise Lost, "better to reign in hell than serve in heaven" shows the extent of this luciferian pride.
Yes but there is something supernatural about the possibility of allowing very discussion of this nature if you think about it. Look at the Bishops and Cardinals at the minute, they are basically at each others throats as prophesied in Marian Prophecy. Here , while it can get heated there is a real charity. I have always thought this Charity Marian in character. There is a strand in Catholic Spirituality that goes right back to St Francis De Sales , St John Bosco. St Phillip Neri and beyond which is very tolerant of discussion of being kind. I think kindness is a real expression of charity. Listening to others will kill none of us. We none of us have to agree of course. But we can at least have the kindness, the charity, to listen. None of us have the monopoly on all truth.

Satan can be said to be the 1st adversary, but of who? He is primarily the 1st adversary of himself. He knows what holds him in existence (his Creator), and He is opposed to the very part of Himself that he can't control, his own fate is completely in God's hands. He is the first adversary of himself because he chose to separate himself from life and there is no life without God. Other angels and humans who join with him are going against their own nature (which is to be in union with the Creator as part of Him). We become our own adversary when we separate ourselves from God and follow the 1st adversary. This is why we are warned to never step out of the armor of our faith, the 1st adversary can't touch us where he has no control (life in God through Christ and the Holy Spirit). If we choose to sin and step out on our own, then we fight a battle with the foe that we can't win. You have touched on a very crucial issue Dolours and if we could all realize that our primary enemy, that father of all lies, really is the king of destruction, of nothingness as it were, because he goes against what holds him in existence. Clare--so many things to say here. If the Holy Sacrifice is abolished (and we've been warned of this from the Book of Daniel to Revelation)then the Abomination of Desolation is truly with us. And without the Holy Sacrifice the world will not endure. The Church will go underground, back to the catacombs as the priest in your post says. Malachi Martin predicted this, right down to the catacomb remark. Anne Catherine Emerich had a vision of a demand being made of the clergy and most went along with it, but some young priests and some very old priests refused. Some were crying. I for one enjoy davidtlig attempt at giving Pope Francis support of the divorced and remarried (those living in adultery) communion. It helps those who can see through the slippery writings of Pope Francis, which he knows are so slippery he can't clarify them himself without being in explicit apostasy, to know we had better stay with what God's 6th commandment taught, Jesus taught explicitly in today's Gospel reading and the magisterium of the church has always taught lest we loose our own soul.
