This Post of Ms. Harper's just convinces me, not that I needed more convincing, that SHE & friends are, in fact, doing a "Hit Job" on Charlie for .... Reasons Still Unknown!? I am not part of any Back-Room Conspiracy and have only had one e-exchange with Charlie and that was in regards to his passing along a Thank-You for a donation I made to his friend, Fr. Regis/"Julia Greedy Home" in CO around Christmas two years ago...... http://www.juliagreeleyhome.org/
This is one of several charities that Charlie lists on his site as worthy of support.
Sooooooo ..... "Jihad Jane" Harper & disciples continue to do your "Worst" :ROFLMAO:

I am sorry I have not been following this thread and have tried to play catch up by reading a few of the more recent posts. The reason I started to read it is I got a got a kind of shock, horror, shock private message there that was very accusatory rather like the ghost in MacBeth

How could I who am supposed to have seen Our Lady support Charlie Johnson who this that and the other. :D Now I know ho poor MacBeth felt. Loud groans and denunciations , much horrified pointing of ghostly fingers.:D:D

I have to say of Charlie the longer I have known him the deeper I appreciate him. I am as certain as I can be he is indeed the real deal and I am happy to repeat that.

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but this talk about ecigarettes just makes me laugh. I love a good drink myself and smoke a vapour e machine myself and pour out smoke like Satan in hell. I wish to God that was the worse thing I had on conscience, :D As to Charlie puffing on one well I'm sorry I can't and won't take such stuff seriously.

As to any other finger pointing in his direction, well all I can say is give pause and let Charlie answer for himself.

The wisest thing I ever read on such matters is in the Acts of the Apostles by Rabban Gamaliel who warns us as follows:

    Acts 5:39

    Gamaliel's Advice
…38So in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone. Let them go! For if their purpose or endeavor is of human origin, it will fail. 39But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God.” 40At this, they yielded to Gamaliel. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.…

Fighting against God indeed! Wow! I hope that gives pause to the e cigarette folks. Mac Beths ghost.

I am sorry with all the things that are going on in the world I can't take a lot of this stuff too seriously. Charlie as far as I recall made a few precise prophesies due to occur shortly. Why not wait and see how things fall out rather than all this finger pointing and hand wringing stuff?

As to God not having direct dealings with sinners, then why on Earth did he die for them?

Wait and see sounds good to me. Meanwhile, do you think that Charlie will explain how he managed to arrange priests hearing Confessions where he was giving a talk in a Protestant school? That sounds rather iffy especially when the Bishop has been, to put it mildly, less than supportive. There may well be a very plausible explanation. If so, it would be good to hear it. And before anyone tells me to ask Charlie myself, I think that the onus is on those promoting Charlie and his messages.

  9. Yeah, I don't really see the point in getting worked up about this.

I smoke cigars, and my brother just started vaping, was thinking of taking that up. He had a Smores flavored thing when I was around him last, smelled awesome. Problem is they don't taste like how they smell. :-( That and the battery might blow up in your face, lol.

From what I've read, it's the DIY models or maybe some cheap imitations that are most likely to blow up in your face. You need to buy from reputable sources and take the same care as you would with any lithium ion battery (don't leave it unattended while charging, and store safely, etc.). There are forums dedicated to ecigs and vaping - one in the US has a huge membership.

Anyway, do you think that there will be clarification from Charlie about the priests hearing Confession at one of his gigs? Priests disobeying a Bishop is quite a big deal.

  11. I'm no expert by any means but I think the only prohibition from the Bishop was against Charlie giving talks on Church property in the Archdiocese of Denver; as far as I know he hasn't done that.

Priests can hear confession whenever, right? I don't think Charlie's presence is so toxic as to invalidate that!

I thought that it wasn't only in Denver but I'm not certain. As far as I know, there are restrictions on where priests can hear Confession except in emergency like a road accident or someone on the brink of death.

  14. Didn't know that, looks like it's up to the Priest's discretion but it should be done in a confessional when possible :

Makes sense though, wouldn't seem right to hear confession at a coffee shop if it weren't absolutely necessary.

At the end of the day we will be judged on love. That is the biggie.

There is a kind of down to earth quality to a really holy person I like and I think Charlie has this, it a kind of no bull shit look you in the eye straightness I like. Hard to put your finger on exactly.

But one time Sr Briege McKenna was visiting a monastery and the Abbott who was really really pompous and got down up in his vestments to meet and greet her with a little speech. Anyway as he went up to the saint as she got out of her car she rushed by him shouting where ifs the toilet I'm dying to go!

Pin stuck in Abbot. Love it.

I think at the end of the day when Charlie is judged on love he'll come out of it just fine.

I'm sorry but once again I can't get worked up too much abut the confession box thingy. I wish to God that was all I had to answer for.

I'm not suggesting for a minute that Charlie is not holy. He could be a great saint for all I know but that doesn't mean he couldn't be mistaken or deceived by an unholy spirit. Disobedience to Church authority is sometimes considered a sign that there's something amiss with the prophet, prophecy or apparition. That's the reason I'm asking.

    Hi All,

Actually, canon law regulates confession. It's quite specific:

Does the Catholic Church have any rules regarding where a priest can hear confessions? For example, can he hear confession in a private home, in the hospital or while taking a walk in a field?

    A. 1. According to Canon Law # 964,

§1. "The proper place to hear sacramental confessions is a church or oratory.

§2. The conference of bishops is to establish norms regarding the confessional; it is to take care, however, that there are always confessionals with a fixed grate between the penitent and the confessor in an open place so that the faithful who wish to can use them freely.

§3. Confessions are not to be heard outside a confessional without a just cause."

A just cause to hear confession outside of a Church or Oratory would be:

    - a bed-ridden hospital patient,
    - an elderly parishioner who cannot get to the Church,
    - in prison segregation, and/or
    - in a field during war.

The following do not qualify for confession outside of a Church or Oratory:

    - private homes prior to the celebration of an approved and/or non-approved Holy Mass,
    - while taking a walk with a parishioner who wants to confess his/her sins at the moment,
    - during a Church event, outside of the Church or Oratory, etc.

As for the position of the priests who did, I hear, go ahead with confessions:
The archdiocese of New Orleans reprinted the letter from the archbishop of Denver in its official publication. I don't think that imposed new obligations on Charlie, since he is not under NOLA authority, but it certainly placed its priests on notice.

The Archdiocese of Omaha went further than New Orleans, since it looks very much like it did an independent evaluation of Charlie's work and cited specific causes for concern. By putting out its own caution, boldfaced and highlighted in yellow, it its own official publication, Omaha has taken the strongest stand to date outside of Denver.

    Padraig,

I've always liked your line, At the end of the day we shall be judged on love.

But in these times --especially in these times! -- I believe you have to add obedience into the mix. St. Faustina said words to the effect that the devil can even fake being humble, but cannot fake being obedience. We will all be judged in the way we accept or reject the right and reasonable rules of the Church.
