Pope St. Pius X warned the Church of this in 1907:

“[T]hey put into operation their designs for Her [the Church’s] undoing, not from without but from within. Hence, the danger is present almost in the very veins and heart of the Church, whose injury is the more certain from the very fact that their knowledge of Her is more intimate. Moreover, they lay the ax not to the branches and shoots, but to the very root, that is, to the faith and its deepest fibers.” – Pascendi Dominici Gregis

My sister @Jonah had some (I believe) prophetic dreams/visions about the Vatican and Pope Benedict not so long ago. I won't attempt to share them but perhaps she will do so herself...

Not long after Benedict resigned I had a dream that he was surrounded by dogs barking and snarling at him and he looked very old. In the dream he was surrounded by a glass casing and was protected, but seemed to be under pressure and was suffering persecution. Just thought I would post that, don't know if it means anything.

I think a lot of people have had insight given by God in the forum or dreams and visions. I would expect God to do so. Otherwise how else would our eyes be open?

    Acts 2:17

"'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

So all of this is quite a bombshell, Padraig. There's a lot to take away and pray about here. To formally and publicly declare the pope a heretic is no small matter... But I am assuming you are aware of the gravity of what you've stated and have weighed up the consequences of speaking so openly. Do you think this will be a turning point for the forum, and many will leave? Myself, I intend to follow the Lord's instruction to the apostles during his agony in the garden: watch and pray, watch and pray.

My sister's dream involved Pope Benedict in a bedroom late at night, very old and very, very tired. She was asking him would he not like to lie down and sleep but he chose instead to kneel all night praying before the glowing embers of a fire.

She said it was a very beautiful dream and she could sense the depth of his love, like nothing she had ever felt before.

Yes many will leave. Some will stay.

God shows me it is a bit like this. There were two farmers. One farmer was Faithful in prayer and so sowed the seeds of the Gospel in his heart. Come good times , come bad times he ramined faithful to the sowing (in prayer)

Another farmer was lax in the planting He seldomg prayed.

then at harvet time a great storm came and blew aways most of the crop. But the crop of the farmer who had planted faithfully saw his crop had grown and gained the fruit of his harvest.

This is the time of the rising and falling of many. Those follow the false Light shall follow it into the darkness. The Faithful remant will gather the Harvest of their Perseverance. THis has all been foretold in the Book of Revelation.

The Great Prostitute and the Beast
17 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth's abominations.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

When I saw her, I marveled greatly. 7 But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. 9 This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; 10 they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while. 11 As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. 12 And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast. 14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

15 And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. 16 And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, 17 for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

    The Fall of Babylon
18 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. 2 And he called out with a mighty voice,

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!
She has become a dwelling place for demons,
a haunt for every unclean spirit,
a haunt for every unclean bird,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.
3 For all nations have drunk
the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality,
and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her,
and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”

4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,

“Come out of her, my people,
lest you take part in her sins,
    lest you share in her plagues;
5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.
6 Pay her back as she herself has paid back others,
    and repay her double for her deeds;
mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed.
7 As she glorified herself and lived in luxury,
so give her a like measure of torment and mourning,
since in her heart she says,
    ‘I sit as a queen,
    I am no widow,
and mourning I shall never see.’
8 For this reason her plagues will come in a single day,
    death and mourning and famine,
    and she will be burned up with fire;
for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”

9 And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. 10 They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,

    “Alas! Alas! You great city,
    you mighty city, Babylon!
For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

11 And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, 12 cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, 13 cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls.

14 “The fruit for which your soul longed
    has gone from you,
and all your delicacies and your splendors
    are lost to you,
    never to be found again!”

15 The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud,

16 “Alas, alas, for the great city
that was clothed in fine linen,
    in purple and scarlet,
    adorned with gold,
    with jewels, and with pearls!
17 For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.”

And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off 18 and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning,

“What city was like the great city?”

19 And they threw dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out,

“Alas, alas, for the great city
where all who had ships at sea
    grew rich by her wealth!
For in a single hour she has been laid waste.
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven,
and you saints and apostles and prophets,
for God has given judgment for you against her!”

21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,

“So will Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence,
    and will be found no more;
22 and the sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters,
will be heard in you no more,
and a craftsman of any craft
will be found in you no more,
and the sound of the mill
will be heard in you no more,
23 and the light of a lamp
will shine in you no more,
and the voice of bridegroom and bride
will be heard in you no more,
for your merchants were the great ones of the earth,
and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints,
and of all who have been slain on earth.”

...the humble Mary will always triumph over Satan, the proud one, and so great will be her victory that she will crush his head, the very seat of his pride. She will unmask his serpent's cunning and expose his wicked plots. She will scatter to the winds his devilish plans and to the end of time will keep her faithful servants safe from his cruel claws. But Mary's power over the evil spirits will especially shine forth in the latter times, when Satan will lie in wait for her heel, that is, for her humble servants and her poor children whom she will rouse to fight against him.

Padraig, look at today's mass readings. I still think these two readings are where Pope Francis is coming from. Remember when traditionalist groups said John Paul II was a heretic and antichrist simply because he asked Jews for forgiveness of what Christians did to them over the centuries. That did not mean he agreed with Jewish views on who Jesus is. But it was an act of humility and reconciliation. Similarly, Francis, to me, means that people who identify themselves as homosexual, or even those who do not, have been persecuted, beaten, marginalized and Francis is simply saying that is wrong. I know true Christians would never do such a thing, but a first step in healing is to remind people the Church does not condemn a person who believes him/herself to be homosexual but condemns only homosexual acts and lifestyle. It is a concrete gesture to reach out to sinners, like Jesus did with Matthew the tax collector and the woman he cleansed of demons.

    Look at this from CNA:
Francis seems to be challenging us to see homosexual persons not primarily as those with “intrinsically disordered” inclinations, but as struggling brothers and sisters who need welcome, respect and accompaniment in order to eventually understand and accept the truth.

Another key in interpreting Francis can be found in his days as cardinal in Buenos Aires. In 2010, then-Cardinal Bergoglio wrote that a proposed bill to allow same-sex marriage and adoptions would “gravely injure the family.”

“What is at stake here is the identity and survival of the family,” he said in the letter. “At stake are the lives of so many children who will be discriminated against in advance, depriving them of the human maturation that God wanted to be given with a father and a mother. At stake is the outright rejection of the law of God, engraved also in our hearts.”

For Satan knows he cannot extinguish the light of Truth and so he surrounds it with darkness to obscure it from view. It is then that we must look WITHIN our hearts, through prayer, for the beacon that guides us in this darkness. The rosary is our weapon. The scapular our shield. The Eucharist our rations. Dogma our compass.

A homosexual is someone who commits homosexual acts.

If osmeone does not commit homsexual acts then they are not homosexuals.

This is not rocket science. The devil does complicated. God does simple. If we do not break the Commandments we are not guilty under their law. It is as simple as that.

I believe that Jesus said that: "These things must all come to pass." ... did He not! .... and that: "I will always be with you" ... did He not? He also told St Faustina to tell us about His Divine Mercy and to venerate the Divine Mercy Image and The Message.... JESUS I TRUST IN YOU ... did He not? It seems to me that too many here are acting like the Apostles in the fishing boat on that "Stormy Night". The chaos in The Church and Planet Earth was foretold to us by Jesus and ancient Scripture. Jesus also told us to not worry about yesterday or tomorrow but take care of your affairs today ... did He not? Worrying about some idiocy that escapes the lips of some overfed prelate in far away places is a waste of time-n-energy.... idiocy that will have little, or NO, impact on your life, your neighborhood or your Parish near term! I believe that everyone here has all the Faith, Knowledge and Wherewithal they need to proceed through The Storm that is, undoubtedly, upon us! Soooooo .... Pray, Prepare and See to Your Duties today!:)

JESUS I TRUST IN YOU & SAVE ALL HERE!!

Here is what I am referring to, this is from the catechism:

    Chastity and homosexuality

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

    Sorry if I bungled it...

    I have done this padraig!

I believe that Our Holy Father is feeling weak at this moment in time and is very much in need of our prayers. I ask that God send St Michael to his aid. And that together with St Joseph, both St Michael and St Joseph come now to the churches aid and defend us and protect us against all the evil that is saturating the world and many souls at this time.

    Padraig,
Your post seems deeply unfair to chaste and celibate people with same sex attraction.
People who scorn Pope Benedict xvi never listened to what he actually said. I feel the same is true with Pope Francis.
On what basis are you declaring him a heretic? Please be specific.

Kind of sounds like your damned if you do and damned if you don't. Does the good Lord really work this way? Let's confuse and confuse and confuse the masses so that just a few make it to salvation? So many spiritual babies will be lost. So many who try to figure this out and stay close to God could also be lost because they don't know who to follow. Do you follow the church and its authority or do you follow the Cardinals that schism? Sounds pretty much like a no win situation except for very few who may just happen to be in the wilderness away from all this confusion. Reminds me of someone I used to work with. His spouse was a devout Southern Baptist with a church of maybe 50 people. They truly believed that only the 50 people in their church would make it to heaven because no one else was holy enough. What to do now? This kind of talk is very frightening and yet the Lord told us not to be afraid more than any other message in the bible. How can your insight you received lead to a Catholic forum devoted to the Mother of God suggesting schism from the church that Jesus built? Just doesn't seem to logically fit. Please clarify Padraig.

Those who struggle with same sex attraction but live a chaste life can become saints through God's grace. The practising homosexual cannot because he/she denies and defies their designed nature.

The Judeo-Christian concept of humanity and traditional psycho-dynamic psychology share the same understanding that human nature is supposed to "function according to its design." Both envision mankind as part of a universal heterosexual natural order, where some people struggle with same sex attraction, but it is not intrinsic to their designed nature.

In fact, the very man who was instrumental in getting homosexuality removed from the list of mental disorders in the early 1970s, psychiatrist Robert Spitzer, subsequently admitted that in homosexuality, "something's not working." This is a thought-provoking admission from the man whose life's work in the psychiatric profession resulted in the normalization of homosexuality.
